  1. I'm a bit disappointed in Rathbone TBH. I was hoping he would grab the chance to show what he can do and run with it offensively. I do wonder if he is being constrained by trying to become a 200 ft player?
  2. He probably does deserve a call up but I think they would prefer to keep him in Abby as he is their #1 quarterback on the ice and a lot of the teams success flows through him. He is on a two way contract so he might appreciate a call up as there is a significant difference in pay rate. Other factor would be who is sent down and it would seem that Burroughs is the only option there. Not sure they do that.
  3. Not a smart penalty to take. Coach will likely have a chat with him about that. Nice to see the prospects contributing on the farm. IMO, it was a good move to get them down to Abby where they can get meaningful minutes and continue to refine their game.
  4. Had not thought of that but it could be a possibility.
  5. Like you; I really hope that they keep these guys together for a Calder run.
  6. I wonder if either Focht or Nychuk will be re-signed next year. I have my doubts.
  7. Last half of Abby season should be fun to watch. Lots of promising prospects to watch with Rath, Woo, Lock, Hogs, Klim, Pods and Karls all on the roster
  8. Not at the game but it was one of the most entertaining games that I have seen on TV in a long time... A thriller right to the end.
  9. I was not able to watch the game last night as I had other commitments but he should be a great addition. If he plays with the same tenacity as Lockwood he will be a handful for other teams to deal with
  10. The additions of Hoglander, Rathbone and Podkolzin are giving Abby the boost it needs. I am hoping that they stay down on the farm team and get to experience some playoff action this year. IMO, it is better for their development than riding the pine and watching the $%^& show that has enveloped the big club.
  11. I hope he gets a shot to be back in the NHL at some point going forward.
  12. For once I actually agree with them
  13. Forecast for E. Kootenay is 15 to 20cm of snow for today and into tonight. Not a lot on the ground locally maybe ~15 cm. Current temp -20C
  14. Got checked out at the hospital just in case it was Covid. Was surprised at all the tests they did. X-ray, ECG, rapid test for Covid. BP and Pulse rate etc. Test came back negative for Covid. I felt really crappy for days, thank god I am retired and do not have to go anywhere and could just rest up at home. Yes I shall endeavour to get back on track lol. Wonder if Dries is sick and Pederson called up in case Dries is a no go for tomorrow?
  15. That is how mine started. Very nasty cold that lasted for close to 3 weeks. Had a high fever to go along with it; 102.5F at the start
  16. I wish the coaches and team great success in the tournament. Travis's jump from the AHL to NHL head coach was a bridge to far IMO. He should have broke his teeth as an assistant coach 1st. That mistake is on the owner and GM. They should have dove deeper and have been willing to spend more in order to find a seasoned veteran NHL coach to guide the team
  17. Wishful thinking by this gold digging lawyer IMO. I very much doubt that this class action lawsuit will proceed. Whether we agree or not about the Covid response; the government does have the authority to mandate health safety protocols in the interest of public safety. "In BC for example you've got two pieces of legislation, your Emergency Programs Act, and that's the act under which you've got an emergency declared that brings into force all sorts of extraordinary powers. You've also got a Public Health Act and your Provincial Officer of Health issued a notice which allows some extraordinary public health powers to kick in under your public health legislation". This above quotation was taken from a Rule of Law Matters podcast - part two (www.lawsociety.bc.ca/our-initiatives/rule-of-law-and-lawyer-independence/rule-of-law-matters-podcast/covid-19-and-the-rule-of-law-part-2/)
  18. I think he is most likely going to play all of this season in Abby. He has only played in 2 NHL games in the past and only 82 AHL games in his career so far. A full year honing his game in Abby is probably the best route for him in order to have a chance to succeed.
