  1. You are still comparing apples to oranges here. How many would have faced the death penalty? How many were charged with 1st degree murder? How many were 2nd degree murder or manslaughter? Big difference. 1st degree murder is much harder to both prove and convict on; that is why most are charged with either 2nd degree or manslaughter
  2. You are comparing apples to oranges here. We are not the USA. Show me any wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death in Canada, Yes; I do realize that the death penalty has been off the books since about 1976 and the last executions were in 1962 both by hanging. Not in favor of hanging. Bullet to the back of the head is much more humane IMO.
  3. I agree but if we resort to torture then we are no better than them. I am not in favor of hanging either as it can take 10 to 15 minutes for some to die that way from what I have read. A bullet to the brain via the back of the head is instantaneous.
  4. Then we are resorting to torture vs a quick death.
  5. Then perhaps there needs to be a higher standard set for the death penalty but it still needs to be an option for mass murderers like these two.
  6. We shall agree to disagree. The police know who the suspects are as well as a multitude of witnesses and survivors. The death penalty needs to be in place for these animals.
  7. As far as I am concerned these 1st degree premeditated murderers do not deserve a nice cozy jail cell. Have them dig their own grave and bang... one bullet.
  8. Time to quit playing nice with cold blooded killers. Re-instate the death penalty for 1st degree murderers. Waste of time and money trying to rehab them.
  9. If what was stated is true then he deserved to be fired.
  10. Benning (and John Weisbroad) did make a lot of poor cap management decisions, IMO; but he put together a decent pool of talented players over the years he was in charge. I often wonder how things might have turned out if Benning had fired Green in the off season and had a different coach take the reins at the start of last season
  11. Does not help that they are readily available just across the border and obviously still easy to smuggle across..
  12. Nice to see him get a shot at playing in the AHL. He is also good for promoting the game to members of the Japanese communities in the lower mainland.
  13. I don't think he was either from what I am seeing on here. In the edited post you referenced to I was going to comment on the pic not being Horvat but Jordie Benn but the connection was already made further up the post.
  14. LOL.. You will not be able to afford Creston either or any other East or Central Kootenay town. Our city Appraisals in our neck of the wood increased 21% on average. Got a lot of Albertan's settling here these days
  15. You know, that's um, pretty bang on comment lol.
  16. The decision was totally up to him. The Abby Canucks had no say as he is a UFA G6. Can't blame him for testing the market to see what he is worth.
  17. Not as many players as in years before. That might be a good thing. More time for coaches to evaluate and teach individual players. Four fwd's, two d-men and one goalie as invitees by the look of it
