  1. Have there been any updates by the team as to how his rehab of his knee is progressing? He would be a big boost to the team if he is ready to go in September as was posted earlier in this thread.
  2. His demotion very early on from Abby to the ECHL was not a good sign. Not sure of the reason but it was quick. After that, as time passed, the writing was on the wall IMO.
  3. He always has been IMO; so what's new?
  4. I tend to like Garlands game but wish he was 3 or 4 inches taller and 20 lbs heavier. Probably would not be in the conversation if that was the case
  5. I am a bit surprised that he has not been signed yet. Both he and Woo should be vying for the bottom pairing RD. Of note; neither are waiver exempt, so it is make it or break it time IMO.
  6. I like what I have seen of Hirose's game but both he and Wolanin are of average size and not very physical IMO. Would really like to see a 3rd pair D-man on that side with size & grit.
  7. Have to disagree with you Max. He is only 22, give him another year of seasoning in the AHL as the starter down there and see if he can handle a 50 or so game season.
  8. It is a concern but I think this is what they are likely going to do.If Martin falters they will bring Silovs up and send Martin to Abby. I just don't see them bringing in another back up goaltender this coming season
  9. LOL Not my morning.... think I need another cup of coffee
  10. You are correct, It was Tanner Martin I was actually thinking of. Somehow mixed them up.
  11. Thinking along the same line except I think Silovs wiii spend most of the year in Abby but be the call up if Demko, Delia / other tender get injured. I would rather see him get a lot of games down in Abby vs sitting on the bench most nights while Demko plays.IMO. If Silovs body of work in Abby over 50+ games shows that he is fully ready, then you bring him up on a permanent basis for next season when Delia's no longer under contract
  12. Why on earth would you do that esp. at the TDL. Ride it out till the end of the season when he becomes a UFA. If they still want him after that, they can re-negotiate with his agent on both amount and term
  13. Some big question marks going forward for sure but it is a great opportunity to change the look of next years defense core IMO.
  14. What if they let him go to free agency and then resign him at league minimum for one year? Would not his cap hit be only the league minimum and when he is ready to return they could bury his cap hit in the minors. I am not familiar with the nuances of how this all works and that is why I am asking.
  15. I wonder if the Canucks might offer him a league minimum contract for one year in an effort to retain his rights with the hope of him regaining some value down the road. On the flip side would Bear consider such an deal?
  16. Makes one wonder why Kravtsov decided to go back to Russia. He may regret that decision.
  17. I actually think it is a good strategy to spread out some of these entry level contracts esp. if they can develop in Europe till they are ready. Not good to have them all lose their waiver exemption in the same year going forward.
  18. There may be a chance that they do not qualify him but look to re-sign him as a UFA for a shorter term and slightly less money in a show me contract. Stranger things have happened.
  19. Probably more to do with having too many of them. This team needs players with size and grit to go along with decent skills and skating not more runts IMO
  20. I will be looking forward to watching this new Belarusian goaltender Mikita Talapila make his debut in Abby this coming season. So; who might be the top prospect goalie now? They still have Koskenvuo, Thiessen who are 22 this yr. and Ty Young who is 18 in the reserve list.
  21. I still think that Spencer Martin will be Demko's backup next year with Silovs being the call up if either tender gets hurt during the season. The year after that Silovs will be the backup
  22. Both Hogy and Rabo are not longer waiver exempt so decisions will have to be made on their futures with Canucks. Personally; I think Hogy makes the team in the fall as well as Pods but Rabo has a much greater likely hood of either being traded or they may have to risk waiving him and hope he does not get claimed. Unfortunately for Jack, Wolanin may have passed him on the depth chart and Hirose is knocking on the door as well.
  23. He is having a great season but obviously the Canucks projected that he was only going to be a good AHL D-man and would have difficulty with the faster pace in the NHL. Has not seen any NHL time while with Seattle same with Kole Lind. He got a taste of the NHL while with Vancouver but yet to with Seattle. Kole still has some time on his side and may make the Kraken next year. As for Brogan; he is likely only ever going to be an AHL'er
