I doubt very much he goes in yet but they obviously must see something in his game that they believe they can improve on, esp. on the defensive side. I think his offensive instincts are already there, he just needs the defensive awareness and positioning that is required for a much faster pace of game at the NHL level vs college hockey. In the end; it really does not matter what we think. Let's just hope that they have a valid reason for keeping him on the Taxi squad.

I agree Agent but he isn't, so getting him in for a game or two with the Canucks may be the next best option.

Maybe when Hamonic slots back in to the line up; they may spell Juolevi for a game or two and see how Rathbone looks out there.

There is no doubt that the variance of opinion on the severity of Covid is a polarizing issue. It is one that even comes up with some of my relatives removing me from their friends list because they choose to believe all the conspiracy crap that is out there. I try not to get to upset with it all as I firmly believe time will prove me to be one the right side of that discussion. I hope that his leaving was not just due to some of the nastiness thrown at him for any of his hockey posts

I don't think Gurn was implying that we should trade him but just making a point that any player could be possibly traded and in fact many are during the course of their careers. Hughes has in no way reached his full potential and I highly doubt that he gets traded any time soon. His stock is still rising and he is nowhere near his peak playing years yet.

You are correct in what you stated. Wayne Gretzky was proof of that. It all depends on what you receive in return for the (asset/commodity/player) you are trading. Call it what you will but players are, IMO, commodities that may be traded when their value is high for a different commodity or group of commodities whose value is likely to increase over time. Would like to see Hawryluk slot in in place of Virtanen.
-
He reminds me of a poor mans version of Clarke Gillies. Similar draft positions, similar in size but big difference in willingness to be a force to recon with on the ice. If something set Gillies off, he went into full beast mode whereas nothing seems to set Virtanen off. He could be one heck of a player if he just had a bit of that mean streak.

If he someday plays in the NHL like he has been doing in the KHL; I would bet money on him being all of that and perhaps a whole lot more.
-
Better there than actually playing on the team.

Yeah... I think Aquaman would be a fool to fire him. JB started out as a rookie GM and did make a few mistakes in the beginning (I call that a learning curve) but he has re-stocked the prospect pool from what was an empty cupboard, to one that is the envy of a number of other teams. On top of doing very well at the draft table, he has added some key components onto the team via trade (Miller and Schmidt to name a couple). I think the team is on the cusp of being a very competitive cup team and right now the status Quo is the key to continued success.

[Rumour] Sam Bennett requests trade

Why not... we will trade them Eriksson straight across /s -
I think that was his weight when drafted and would not be surprised if he is heavier than that now. Actually just checked up on what they listed him as on the Comets 2019-20 roster: Chatfield listed as 6'0 - 183 and Juolevi listed as 6'3 198.
-
It is a guessing game as to how much Juolevi actually weighs. Elite prospects 182, Hockey DB 183, Canucks roster 182 but in Wikipedia they have him as 6'3 and 196 go figure.
-
Had he been 2 inches taller and 10 to 15 lbs heavier, he probably would still be with the Canucks. For his size, he battled hard and did very well IMO. I wish him much success with his new team.
-
He is at the training camp of the Comets.

He does play a very similar game to how Motte plays. Bottom 6 are every bit as important to the success of any team and seldom given credit by the fans for helping their team win games.
