I just don't see that happening either esp. while Travis is coaching. His style of coaching is very much different than that of Torts or the likes of Iron Mike. Personally, I think the Torts - Iron Mike style belongs in yesteryear and just does not work in today' s NHL as well as it did 20 to 30 years ago. Elite players have a lot more control now of their destinies especially in their early years in the NHL IMO.

Looks like his former agent did not have many players in his portfolio. Believe his former was Michael Deutsch but not sure. Only 5 or so players under contract with him.

Thanks. I thought it was 200 and that is why I used that benchmark in my post.

We all want to see the Canuck draft picks do well and make it to the NHL but the reality is that very few that are drafted, do,in fact make it. If one looks back over the last 7 years of Canucks drafting there are only 13 picks out of 48 that have played a game in the NHL. Of those 13 only 9 have played 75 games or more and by NHL averages that is a very impressive number. Still; it is a long shot for most to actually carve out a career and play over 200 games.

Highly unlikely he will ever play in the NHL let alone be qualified by the Canucks this summer when his ELC runs out IMO.
-
I was not taking his +/- into consideration when commenting on his play so far. I do believe that as he becomes more confident in his abilities and increased usage on the ice; that he will be one of the better D man prospects that we have. I think that both Rathbone and Chatfield will be full time NHL players at some point as well. With Rafferty I have my doubts but hope I am proven wrong. The more NHL calibre prospects we have the better.

I do not think he has been the best D man although he is showing the doubters on CDC that they were wrong about him. He is trending towards being a very reliable puck moving D man that can also play the PK effectively; good attributes to have and of great value to the team. I fully expect that his ice time will stay up in the 15 to 20 min. range even after some of the injured D men return to play. This will not be good news for Jordie Benn.

Canucks enter player loan agreement with Manitoba Moose
Kootenay Gold replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Nah... We are strategically inserting our spies into the enemies reserve forces lol. -
Pretty sure you will see a bit more of that as he gets more comfortable in the NHL and with the tendencies of his teammate on the D. I remember watching a few OHL games where he lugged the puck out of the zone with ease when passing options were not there. I think he still has that in him but is feeling his way in the NHL.

It does seem a bit unusual that they would not track that data as it becomes available. Perhaps they do not have adequate resources to track it properly and have decided to focus on the current covid transmission data vs serious side effects data. I suspect that at some point they will start taking that side effects data input but maybe not before the vaccines have had an effect in reducing the outbreak.

I would love to see that as well but does not appear likely to happen. If the warming trend continues our water resources in Canada are going to be in great demand and that could become a big problem.

[Signing] Ducks sign Ben Hutton
Kootenay Gold replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Glad to see him able to sign and play. He is a decent person, IMO, just to passive to be a really successful hockey player. -
That really sucks. I just hope that you are able to get past it but we are charting new territory when it comes to how this virus affects people in different ways. Probably going to see a lot more case like what you are experiencing as we move into the spring and summer months. My wife's twin sister is a part time teacher in Alberta and she opted to not continue on after March. Said it is the best decision she has ever made as the school she was working at has had many cases of both students and teachers. Fortunately they are in pretty good shape financially so she was able to do that; some are not so lucky and have to work.

Covid? Or something else that you caught?

Showing it getting colder out here in the Kootenay's too but nothing really out of the normal for this time of year. I'm just hoping that once the cold weather passes that we get a couple of decent snow events to increase the snow pack levels for our area. That is vital to many of the lakes and streams in our area that many in the area fish and boat on

Hard to judge from just a two game sample but if true; he still brings other attributes that Tanev lacked. Overall, I like this move and others by JB as it freed up cap space to go after the likes of Nate Schmidt. Don't get me wrong, Tanev was a warrior on the Canucks team and I liked his compete but hockey is a business and sometimes the business end has to make some tough decisions and unfortunately he was a casualty of those decisions as was Stetcher, Toffoli and Markstrom.
-
You are right about that; there is not enough data yet to fully understand any long term effects this might have on individuals and if some of the long term effects are permanent.
-
Top line is out of sync with the data below shift it to the right if you can to make it less confusing. A very good site for world wide statistics is www.worldometers.info> coronavirus .

The Cam Neely trade was the one that really teed me off. Probably the worst trade ever by the Canucks.
