  1. Have to agree that most of the GM's will be better prepared for this expansion. Still irks me that the Canucks and Sabers just got scraps when they joined so many years ago
  2. I thought that Hamonic played a pretty decent game for a guy who basically had no training camp and hasn't played in months. Once he gets up to speed and familiar with the Canucks systems, he will prove to be a great addition at a very reasonable price.
  3. I agree in part with what you are saying but think the number of players a team could protect should have been upped by one forward and one D man to 8F-4D -1G. The expansion rule as it was; was a bit to generous IMO.
  4. Very true. I was thinking more of past expansions where the new teams basically got only cast offs and not an immediate contender like Vegas was handed and Seattle may also be handed. Canucks went through some tough years in the early 70's as an expansion team.
  5. Love your choice of words.... pretty close to the truth though.
  6. Any word on who is going to be working with them eg. coaching, skills training etc.?
  7. I much prefer the YouTube vid. of the Canucks thrashing of the Bruins 9-3. much more satisfying.
  8. Your slipping Vintage lol. Deb beat you this time.
  9. Hang in there E/W. Lol, old monikers are hard to lose. I have enjoyed your input on CDC over the past few years and hope that you continue to input your points of view.
  10. He was but some on here bemoan the fact he also played a bit on Horvat's line last year. He is a better fit now with Beagle's line IMO but may wind up on the taxi squad. Some tough decisions will have to be made in the next couple of days.
  11. I thought that he was OK in the scrimmages but would prefer him to be on the 4th line in a more defensive role. I know that is not what he was signed up for but unless he is waived and on the taxi squad; I think that would be his most effective spot. That is, if he makes the cut. I am hoping to see 2 lines that can provide offence with the 3rd line also able to contribute a bit as well. That leaves the 4th line as the defensive and PK line. Beagle, Motte and Eriksson being the most suited IMO, for that line.
  12. moderator(s) thank you for editing my cussing. Lost my temper momentarily with that ridiculous poster and his childish comment.
  13. Perhaps you should inquire if he is available to go one on one, on the ice. Would love to see that. Your calling one of the players on the team a dip$&!# says a lot more about your maturity; or lack thereof than it does about Jake
  14. I will take the vaccine once it is available to my age group and that most likely will be late March or sometime in April. Lots of time to form an opinion on the rate of severe side effects of the Moderna vs Pfizer vaccines.
  15. Normally I would agree with this but this camp is very different. The most noticeable issue in respect to your comment is TIME. They have very little time to experiment with the lines. Better to go with what is a known commodity and insert a player/prospect in and out of the lineup once the season starts. Lines like the 6-40-9 have played a lot together before so they already have chemistry together. Same goes for Bo and Pearson but need to see if Hoglander is a fit or not. I think they are a bit more flexible on the bottom 6 as that is where a number of prospects are likely to start.
  16. Actually glad to see a bit of nasty in Gaudette's game.
  17. And yet; here we are, and they are both still around!
  18. I totally agree with this as long as you are not including politicians in that group of responsible people. They do tend to do whatever makes them look good instead of doing the right thing.
  19. You guys are not that old unless you watched HNIC back in the sixties with your dad's. Some colorful characters back in the day.
  20. Agree with Lockwood going to the minors and Rathbone if he does not make the cut. CDC has been very quiet on Rafferty and those that have been fortunate to watch him in camp have not said anything about him from what I have seen. Still; I think he could possibly be on the taxi squad... it is a toss up IMO. I agree with your assessment on Hoglander... He either makes the team or plays in Sweden.
  21. I'm not so sure of Eriksson being on the taxi squad. Chatfield, Hawryluk, Brisebois, Bailey and Graovac are not waiver exempt nor is Loui but I think Loui is the most expendable one. The other wildcard is Baertschi and if he does not make the team, I think he does make the taxi squad in that scenario and one of Bailey or Graovac are sent down.
