  1. I think Crazy_for_Nazzy is right on with the opening night roster and I like the way he has put the lines together. First game is against a very good team so I think it would be wise on coach Culls part to put a very competitive group out there to start the season.
  2. I just hope some goon like Tom Wilson or Brad Marchand et al. , don't injure or concuss him down the road as he will be a target for their kind.
  3. I'm more concerned about Brisbois being out as the Comets D is relatively thin as it is; whereas, they have an excess of players in the forward group that can fill in while Adam Gaudette is out.
  4. Good luck with that Alf. Even if the light is on... nobody's home.
  5. I'm not sure why they have not moved the thread already either. I guess they are waiting for him to officially play his 1st regular season game I guess. Seems rather dumb but it is what it is.
  6. But.. But!!! He might get sent down to Utica!!! Lol.
  7. Clearly Coach Cull is going to have a lot of decisions on who is on and how big the roster is as there is no roster limit in the AHL. This is my spreadsheet of who is still on the roster. N.B. I added Archie as I think he will clear waivers but did not add Gagner as I think he will be either claimed or some kind of trade happens after he clears.
  8. Yes; Pat did have a large part in finding these hidden gems. Kudo's to both of them for finding all the replacement players that contributed to the team when the injury bug took its toll.
  9. A posted Quote from Cory Hergott in CA today:
  10. They could be a fun team to watch this year. They may start out slowly as all the new additions adapt to their new surroundings, team mates and roles but give them 15 games and watch out!! Only question mark I have is the defense as it is a bit thin.
  11. GM Ryan Johnson did an amazing job finding players in the ECHL that could plug all the holes the Comets had due to all the injuries they incurred.
  12. Jamie Sifers was probably their # 1 RD last year. Dylan Blujus was brought in part way through the season from Jacksonville of the ECHL on an PTO if memory serves me right. He played very well in the regular season but fared poorly in the playoffs. Not sure why such a big difference but he may have been playing with an injury in the playoffs.
  13. Looking at the Canucks current roster, there are still 15 forwards on the list incl. Wacey Hamilton, who was injured at training camp and will be put on waivers and sent to Utica once he is cleared to play. With Roussel still out and on the injured list the team would still have 13 forwards in the mix to start the season. I am hoping that they go to 14 when Roussel is back and choose to go with 7 D-Men with Alex Beiga being the one put on waivers in hopes of sending him to Utica. He may or may not be there for long depending on the injury situation in Vancouver but it allows the Canucks to have a bit more flexibility on who plays the forward positions on any given night and also have the depth right at hand if an injury does occur to one of the forwards. IMO the 13/14th players would, at the moment, be Leipsic and Granlund. Another benefit of sending Biega down is his experience and leadership abilities for a young defense group. If call ups are needed due to injury he would be my first choice followed by either Juolevi or Sautner
  14. Not sure I would rank Blujus as a top six but given the other D left, he would be my pick.
  15. I'm just glad that JB lived up to his promise to move vet(s) out if they were outplayed by a prospect(s).
  16. Ganger IMO is 50/50 and Archie should clear no problem.
  17. I can see your point about lack of size on the D but if McEneny can get back in the mix before mid November that will be less of a talking point. None of last years D-men were big bruisers by any means and rookies like Chatfield and Brisbois have a year of pro behind them now. If Ollie Juolevi has a decent year as a pro I see no reason why the team can not make a run for the cup. An added wildcard is if Beiga is waived, clears, and plays for Utica They managed to take Toronto to 5 games last year and I think the scoring depth is as deep, if not deeper, this year
  18. If he had a mean and nasty in your face element to his game, he might still be in the NHL.
  19. Pretty sad reflection of the rest of the group when a 19 yr. old rookie has to carry the rest of the team on his back! The Canucks as a group are playing like a bunch of losers. No determination, no out-muscling the opposing player, virtually no hitting .... I could go on and on. Very frustrating as a fan seeing this lackluster effort game after game.
  20. McEneny has been waived and will not start on the active roster..... so much for your idea about them doing that.
  21. Not sure about Pouliot but Beiga should clear. Beiga would be the one I would send down but not because of poor play. This guy would set a very good example for the other D-men hoping to make it to the NHL given his work ethic and positive attitude.
  22. Beiga would be an excellent addition to Utica; that is if he clears waivers. I do think he would though given his contract and age.
  23. The thing that is very noticeable about McEneny is his ability to play the right side as a left handed shooter.
