  1. New season. He is on a Canucks contract and is not waiver exempt.
  2. Brendan Gaunce has cleared waivers. Likely on his way to Utica
  3. Evan McEneny placed on waivers today by the Canucks with the intent to send him to Utica.
  4. When I looked over the forwards that the Comets have to choose from; Carcone and Laplante both looked likely to get bumped to the ECHL. Even at that, the Comets are going to be carrying a lot of extra forwards that may have to rotate in and out of the lineup till the injury bug takes its toll.
  5. Does not apply to McEneny as he was injured in the AHL and not with the Canucks at the time.
  6. When I looked over their roster a few days ago I also thought that the D was their weakest position because of a lack of quality depth. I hope McEneny heals up quickly and is able to play most of the season as that would be a huge help on the backend.
  7. I think they will make the playoffs and then anything can happen
  8. Lots of penaties for the comets in the second period incl. a couple of 5 on 3.
  9. Comets now trailing 3-1 Comets pp goal by Boucher Assists to Dahlen and Graham
  10. Comets trailing Binghamton Devils 2-0 starting the 2nd period.
  11. GOD! I sure hope so lol or we are in real do do.
  12. I think his age was a big factor in what JB was able to get for him as he was 34 at the TDL. Had Vanek been ten years younger JB probably would have gotten a 2nd rounder for him. All in all I think JB getting Motte was a fair trade considering Vanek was a declining asset vs Motte as an appreciating one.
  13. LOL we are still waiting for our 2002 - 2nd rounder to make an appearance. Sadly he is playing in the KHL and they won't release him.
  14. I was a fan of all three FA signings even though the term seemed a bit long, because each one addressed a need that was lacking from the year before. Jay Beagle should be able to take some of the load off of Brandon Sutter and either is capable of filling in, in a shut down role, should one get injured during the season. Antoine Roussel should be a good replacement for Derek Dorsett and provide what the team lost when Dorsett was no longer able to play. Tim Schaller will be a very good hard nosed in your face 4th line defender that can play center as well as the wing.
  15. LOL... I threw Schaller into the mix just to see what kind of response it got. He is a much better version of Archie IMO. If I had to pick two out of the four it would be Archie and Granlund. Not a fan of waiving Granny though, as I think he is capable of much more offense but not with the way Travis used him last year.
  16. If the scoring ability of this team does not improve during the season, you may get your wish.
  17. Adam Gaudette has already been sent to Utica. The question is who else is going to be cut or waived. I think Motte will be sent down for asset management reasons but if he isn't, then Archibald, Granlund, Gagner and Schaller are IMO the most likely victims to be waived. i am not sure which ones it will be though
  18. IMO The Comets will be one of the top teams in the AHL this year and should be challenging for the Calder Cup at seasons end. Great environment for out future young stars to develop in!
  19. If you actually take the time to read something before you post you would realize that it was Motte that was being referred to and not Pettersson.
  20. So... Any bets on whether Archie survives the last round of cuts to get the roster down to 23?? I'm thinking he is going to be waived in hopes of sending him to Utica. Another question is who is going with him??
  21. That there is. If Elias or Brock goes out and leads the team in points by the end of the year, he would be viewed as a leader. Likewise if Brandon Sutter becomes a spokesperson in the room he would be considered as a leader. IMO, to be the captain, you need to be a respected leader both on and off the ice and have very good communication skills in order to deal with the local news media on a very regular basis.
  22. If you have ever seen a video of his insane bench presses it's not hard to see why he has trouble scoring. He can't see the puck to shoot because it is being blocked by the bulging muscles. LOL. Seriously this guy could be a wrecking crew as a defensive D man. Maybe not in the NHL but he could probably fit in as a 5/6 d-man in the AHL.
  23. Eriksson is a what you see is what you get at this point and any uptick in his performance would be a bonus. As for Jake; I think he still has some untapped potential as a power forward but he needs to use his speed to break out past the defenders and drive to the net. Hopefully someone with the skill of Pettersson can hit him with a perfectly timed and placed pass while he is in full flight for that to happen.
