  1. He is developing into a bonafide NHL'er but I would rather see him get tons of ice time in the "A" rather than limited ice time in Van. I think that is better for his overall development.
  2. I think he is probably still 2 years away from possibly making the team.
  3. Small sample size to work with but stats for the last 3 preseason games in the face off circle are as follows: Pettersson .315, Horvat .542, Gagner .667, Granlund .500, Sutter .600, Gaunce .462, Gaudette .400, and Beagle .473. I am hoping that Pettersson and Gaudette can improve that part of their game over the next few outings. Time will tell.
  4. Goldy played well tonight and looks like he might be a fit with Pettersson.
  5. Good solid game from Granlund tonight.
  6. Hutton with 30:02 of ice time tonight. I think he is in a tad bit better shape this year. He looked solid out there tonight... thought he had a very solid outing.
  7. Sid.... Have you heard any updates of late on what his status is and if in fact he is working out with the team?
  8. That is certainly possible but I don't think they have written him off yet. These long term injuries he has sustained have really put a dent in his chances though. I must say; I thought he looked pretty decent in his call up near the end of the season back in 2016-17. Granted it was only for one game but I didn't think he looked out of place or overwhelmed by the pace of the game.
  9. Because he could be claimed on waivers; maybe they are hoping he escapes the notice of other teams so they can send him to Utica with other teams wondering if he is damaged goods. Seeing as he may not have had much time in the off season to train he likely would not be up to speed anyways.
  10. If he keeps playing like he did last night he will make the team.
  11. I was just looking at the game sheet and he led all Canucks D-men in ice time @ 26:06; DZ was next @ 18:40. Looks like Travis is checking on just how good his conditioning is .
  12. He was very noticeable out there last night but needs to continue to build on that throughout the preseason. I still expect that he will be sent to Utica at the start of the season because of asset management but should be a top consideration for a call up if moves get made to the roster either through trades or due to longer term injuries that free up a roster spot for someone with his skills and attributes.
  13. Ahh!! Just a Young Fart then?? Not fully ripened lol. You are a young one. For reference: 1950
  14. I hadn't given it a thought but now that you mentioned it ... yeah there is a lot of similarities both in their looks and their ability to pass the puck.
  15. Not sure that this year's team will be vying for a playoff spot but I think we will surprisingly entertained by the change in tempo and style of play brought on by the retirement of the Sedin's. Next year when Quinn is signed and playing for us as well as Juolevi becoming a full time member of the D core we will have even more to cheer about
  16. Welcome aboard the "Old Farts Club" lol. Even though the team was not very good back in the day they, if nothing else, they were entertaining. Still get a bit of a smile on my face when I recall Tiger Williams showmanship when he scored a goal. Got to say; they had great fans back then that stuck with the team through thick and thin.
  17. The above quote was actually from : rekker Time for you two to get together and start chanting Haarroolldd LOL Been a fan since around 82 as well.
  18. It is my guess that the Canucks management will try and get Quinn signed very shortly after his college season is over and even more likely before the 2019 draft comes around.
  19. I will always question the motive when someone keeps coming back with the same old rant ad nauseam. I am a straight shooter and call a spade a spade. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.
  20. Why would the contract look worse? If they are up against the cap, they can trade him if need be!!! What is it about you and Appleboy and your lack of understanding that that contract can be moved out of town at any point in time before it runs its course???
  21. He's not footing the bill and the team is not up against the cap. He really needs to move on from his fixation and find better things to discuss.
  22. You're wasting you're time even responding to someone who is fixated on Beagle and the length of his contract while totally tuning out the fact that Beagle can be traded at any time during said contract if someone better can take his place. I think he just likes to stir $%^& up to stroke his ego.
  23. As quoted from the Comet's home page in 2015: Unlike the NHL, the AHL does not have a roster limit. The Comets are free to carry 28 players if they wish. Given the level and depth of the talent that is likely going to be available on the Comets this year; they are going to be a team to watch. I agree with crazy_4_Nazzy that there should be less injuries and / or at least less concern about that because of the available quality of players readily available that will be on the team. It certainly will keep players playing hard every night or they will wind up watching while someone else takes their place. Coach Cull is going to enjoy this season a lot more than the one he had to endure last year when they had to constantly find players in the ECHL to fill the holes
  24. There is a good blog on both Thatcher Demko and Zack MacEwen by Cory Hergott in CA this morning. https://canucksarmy.com/2018/09/17/2018-training-camp-day-one-part-two-zack-macewen-and-thatcher-demko/
