  1. You bet!! They just didn't mention that it was David Bowie they were giving you.
  2. Got a hunch that Baertschi will play LW on the second line, with Pettersson and Sutter shuffling between center and RW at the start of the season. We might also see Leipsic with Brock and Bo as the top line. Just a hunch.
  3. There is a good blog in the Province today by Ben Kuzma on Brendan Leipsic that is a nice balanced article without all the negativity that we have become so accustomed to seeing from the sports journalists in this paper.
  4. Not a fan of that idea either. Would rather see Sutter on his wing to help him break into the role as a center man as a previous poster, "Hutton Wink" I think, had suggested. To me that would make a lot more sense. Don't get me wrong; I would love to see Brendan have one hell of a good training camp and make it very hard for management to send him to Utica via waivers
  5. AK-19 said: Just great, two of our UFA signings don't even start the season. Roussel is the only one out that I know of. Schaller was cleared to play and was on the ice today as far as I know. Both will be ready to go to start the season barring any further injuries to them.
  6. From what little I have seen of him I think the fans are going to fall in love with this guy for his upbeat demeanor and work ethic.
  7. I would like to see Travis give him a shot in a more offensive role with complementary players as well but I don't think that is going to happen.
  8. If he wants to stick with Vancouver this year he needs to add some snarl and physicality to his game, otherwise he is likely going to be waived. Management has other players now that play a defensive style similar to Brendan's but they also have the toughness and a bit of a scoring touch that for some reason Brendan lost somewhere along the way.
  9. That remains to be seen if Biega is sent down.
  10. I can envision Elias making that perfect tape to tape stretch pass to Jake in full flight and Jake blowing past the D-man on his way to the net. Hopefully his stick work and shooting drills in the off season show up at camp and beyond.
  11. With Brock and Elias on the wings and Bo at center on the PP we are going to be treated to a lot of tic tac toe plays with the end result being the hapless goalie fishing it out of the net.
  12. It looks like the list could use an update as nothing has been posted since June. From your original list I see the following players that have departed the organization. Abols, Beattie, Blomstrand, Cassels, Labate, McKenzie, Pettit, Stewart, Stukel, Candella, Cederholm, Neill and Olson.
  13. I am betting that Alex Biega does get waived this year and if he clears which IMO is likely; he will become the captain of the Utica Comets.
  14. That's way 2 many 2's 2 handle 2 day!
  15. In the presser earlier today both coach Green and JB stated that everyone was healthy, injury free and good to go.
  16. I think he will be one of the big surprises at camp. He may be short in stature but he plays like he is 6 inches taller and twenty pounds heavier than he is.
  17. Patience Grasshopper..... The old'uns get distracted and off topic easily
  18. I would bet on them being with Vancouver for at least the next two years but both being gone within four years.
  19. A clip from Jackson McDonald's blog in CA today WWYDM Captain Video: Juolevi. The key to any rebuild is not to select busts with top ten picks. Now that Olli’s beginning the third season after his draft year, it’s time for him to step up and shine. While his surgery may land him in the AHL to start the season, he absolutely needs to crack the NHL roster by the trade deadline. If Benning has whiffed on both the Virtanen and Juolevi picks, then the rebuild has been set back at least two years and ownership needs to look for a new GM. I think who ever this guy is he should change his moniker to Captain Kangaroo. Typical CA garbage IMO.
  20. I think most fans at the time, myself included, thought he could turn out to be a very good goaltender. As fans, most of us have high expectations for our prospects. How they turn out going forward may be another thing. If Marky can clean up some of his mental lapses, he could still turn out to be a solid goalie for the club. In response to your comment " I never thought Marky was the next Schneids" ; I made no mention of Schneider in my previous post and made no comparison between them either.
  21. I sure hope so! It would do a lot to put a lid on all the naysayers on here. He has shown that he has the skills to play as an offensive D-man but needs to be in tip top shape and bring it this year or he may be on the outside looking in
