Totally Brother It's a no brainer actually actually. One cannot absolutely prove to me there is god. Conversely one cannot absolutely prove to me there is not a god. What I am reasonably certain of,if on the off chance there is a creator figure he is not the man made construct/control mechanism that certain members of our species use to control other members of our species with.

You don't believe in atheists ? Are you denying their existence ? How your God feels ? People who share your beliefs tell others that your God feels that LGBTI people shouldn't have the same rights as others. That women shouldn't have control over their own bodies. That my friend is unacceptable.

What about agnostics ? Do you believe in us ? Actually I am in 2 minds about a goddess Slight language warning one dirty word

That's freakin hilarious ! I have never known one agnostic who has or wants to tell anyone what to believe. History however is littered with people who have murdered and tortured people trying to force their religious beliefs on them. What I expect is that the facts that Neil teaches are facts and will stand the test of time.

Yep that's been the problem so far. However I do believe if we keep working towards making nuclear fusion a realistic, reliable form of power generation it will happen eventually.

I was force fed Christs life story for over a decade. I have made it a point to study all religions. As I have pointed out earlier in this thread all these religions can be traced back to the Horus,Isis Osiris allegory. They all contain the same key themes. The Egyptians were smart enough to know their allegories were just that,a story that can reveal a hidden meaning. Unfortunately Christians think their allegories are historical fact.

“Miracle in Manchester: The Wade MacLeod Story”
Ilunga replied to SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Wade embodies the Plutarch quote The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled. Wade is an example of the sort of person I really admire. One who never gives up and has total belief in themselves. Watch him light it up. -
@Canuck Surfer I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I loved my father dearly and I was there when he died. I used to listen to this song in the months after he died. He truly was the best role model a son could ask for. I hope this brings back fond memories of your dad.

A huge leap towards Nuclear fusion ? https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/superconducting-magnets-needed-to-power-nuclear-fusion-reactors-exist-and-work/ I believe that our species has the intellects to make this is only a matter of when not if.

What is science fiction one day becomes reality the next as we increase our knowledge and/or technical expertise, that then helps us increase our knowledge. https://www.space.com/22880-life-from-space-panspermia-possibility.html While I totally agree that this is just a theory, theories are all we have for how life originated on this planet. Another point in the evolution of life that fascinates me is when it became and how life became multi-celled. Most life before snowball earth was single celled and we postulate that volcanism stimulated the process of single celled to multi celled. https://theconversation.com/how-snowball-earth-volcanoes-altered-oceans-to-help-kickstart-animal-life-53280 The earth is nearly 4 billion years old and snowball earth is believed to have occurred between 640-720 million years ago. I first learnt about this watching Brian Cox's series The Wonders of life.

Hey Brother sorry to hear about your mother. My mother was a devout Christian and a highly intelligent, kind compassionate person. There are good ,bad and everything in-between in every group of people. At a congregational level I can see some of the benefits of those sharing religious beliefs. As long as those beliefs do not impact others in a negative manner.

So which Bible are we talking about ? The first testament or the second ? We will start with the second as you have stated a book that was written 1900 years ago. That book consists of four stories/ gospels as the faithful call them, about a person called Jesus's life by four of the people who supposedly knew him. How where those 4 stories chosen ? And why where others left out ? Let's just say the machinations of the council of Nicaea would make Machiavelli blush. And if such a person as Jesus existed and had the impact that he did why is there no other mentions of him apart from a minor one by Josephus and another by Tacitus close to a 100 years after his supposed death. Now humans can find anyway to rationalise their beliefs and far be it from me to disillusion you. However I like facts and the facts don't stack up. People need things to believe in however people believing what you believe have and are still persecuting others in the name of those beliefs. And that pisses me off.

The Redwings would like to thank Brock for his contributions to our team. This was a really tough decision to make however this combined with the 2 other trades we made make us feel we can compete for the cup for years to come. We would like to Welcome Jacob,Philip and Kasper to our team. With Jacob we have added a potent and experienced weapon to our second line. With Philip we have gained a very classy offensive minded D-Man who will compete at trading camp for a role on our team. Kasper also will be competing for a spot and we will see what sort of training camp he has. We thank the GM of the Jets @canuck2xtreme for the intelligent negotiations.

The Detroit Redwings thank Darnell for all his contributions to our team. He has been a great player on the ice and a great person off it. It was a hard decision to make but we think the trade makes our team better heading into the future. We welcome Jesse to our team. He is young player who showed a glimpse of his potential last year and we think he will build on this in the years to come. We would also like to to welcome Nathan to our team. We believe he has the potential to play in this league in the years to come.

This is Dave posting not the GM of the Redwings. In regards to Logan Malloux what he did in regards to his actions in Sweden was a betrayal of the young woman,he broke the law and he broke my moral code,he did not treat another in the way he expects to be treated, with dignity and respect. There has been much debate, which I have participated in,the thread on these boards about his actions, the actions of the team drafting him and what should happen moving forward. First off he has been punished by the courts and paid the price in that regard. Second he has been told he cannot play in his junior league until the officials that run that league have determined he has learnt from his mistake, shown genuine remorse and received counseling to help him from not making the same mistake again. I thought long and hard about accepting Logan as part of that trade. I made a lot of mistakes at his age. I let my parents down. The police used to bring me home at all hours and tell my folks I was hanging with the wrong crowd and I should get my $hit together before I screwed my life up. My point is we all make mistakes but what defines us is what we do after we make them. People deserve a second chance. Logan has said all the right things. He will attend counseling. He will work in the community to help others from making the mistake he did. I will take him at his word for now. If I am not satisfied he has shown genuine remorse and worked to learn from his mistake he will not participate in this league on my team.

Well if you were spending money on Amazon you contributed to Bezos's power. I am of the opinion that the people we elect, cover up/try to keep hidden certain information, investitigive journalism/ journalists prove this quite often. One example is the thread I started about operation Trojan horse. As for a cabal involving the people I mentioned as well as others running the world, well one just has to observe the world to see this is not really probable. If you believe that others are not searching for answers then it is you who cannot ratiocinate. The Bible is a metaphor. Do the the people who adhere to the teachings of the Bible believe in slavery ? Because the Bible condones it. Ephesians 6:5-8 "Slaves be obedient to your human masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart,As to christ" There are also justifications for slavery to be found in Colossians 3:22-24 Timothy :1-2 Titus 2:9-10 And what makes Abraham more believable than Mohammed or Joseph Smith ? Is it because he was the first one to claim he wandered out into the wilderness and a God spoke to him ? The Harry Potter series of books has sold to over 500 million copies and there are groups of people all over the world who play quidditch. Should I believe in that to. And those people you say adhere to the teachings of the Bible,it also teaches tolerance and compassion something many of your co- religionists don't seem to show to others. If you are interested actually interested in finding out the truth behind religious mythology Start with the allegory of Horus Isis,Osiris. Contains virgin birth, resurrection a whole bunch of things that have been incorporated into other religions. Mithra,Attis,Krisnhna,Jesus same stuff different buckets.

Even when Ash was still in this tournament I have been rooting for Leylah. Now Ash is is out it too easy. There is something about this girl that engages one. Edit Bummed just saw she lost Somehow I feel Leylah will have her day sooner than later.

Your kidding right ? The guy has actually given away a decent chunk of his wealth to help others. Not only that he has donated his time and skills to the same ends. He is a total gentleman on and off the court. C'mon Alf be reasonable. I expect better out of you.
