Thinking of Mr Blonde

Great to see Hank and Danny involved with our team. Really liked hearing multiple scouts talking about what a player projects to be, not what they are now. Hearing one scout stating there is talent in later rounds is heartening, I believe that to.

Funny how opinions change, but statistics don't. https://oilersnation.com/2022/02/12/a-deep-dive-into-edmonton-oilers-forward-jesse-puljujarvi-after-he-sets-career-high-in-points/ -

He is better than any goalie currently on their roster. -

Don't tell Montreal that. -
You need to calm down mate we are just talking about the same team we love. I have made no comments about what will happen next year or what other teams have done with their draft picks. What I will say is many teams have done a better job of drafting and developing players than we have in the last decade, and that is reflected by the success of those teams. With the right moves, trades and what picks we might/ can acquire, I certainly believe we can become a serious contender with this core, Petterson, Hughes Demko and Podz in the next four years.
-
Over the last decade we have traded away first and second round picks for free agents. Quite a few of those first and second round picks we did choose are not even playing in the NHL, Jake, Ollie, Jack to name just a few off the top of my head. It is always time to keep the farm stocked. You build a cup winning team through the draft. We haven't been a contender for nearly a decade and if you think we are near the level of a Tampa or Avalanche then you're dreaming.

We share a lot in common. I think my Autism prevents me from connecting properly with people at times.

This gives a good critique of the Malazan series and why people like you and I would like it Rupert. https://thequilltolive.com/2018/07/13/why-you-should-read-malazan-part-5-the-themes/amp/

Must have been 13 then. I thought it was the year I went to England with my folks. As I have stated before my memory is getting faulty due to the concussions I have suffered. I do remember having reading his previous books and being excited when that book was published and asking my folks to get it for me.

You should it is the " best" book that Tolkien wrote IMO.

Read that book when I was 11 years old. Was reading and re- reading the Bible at the same time, catholic school education. Great book, Feanor was one wicked character. Tolkien was a devout Catholic. That shines through the book as his creation, end of life tale.

If he is there in the third that's certainly a gamble worth taking.

He will go in the second I believe.

I kinda am a bit of a fan of trading down if it meant we could get Bischel and a Kulich or Mcgroaty. With the talent we have, these are the complimentary pieces we need to build a play off contender. Losing that second hurts. Would have loved a chance at Schaefer in the second. I do believe we might have a chance at Kaplan in the third who is a big bodied winger, poorer man's version of Schaefer.

I really believe that Lian will be an NHL player who will contribute to a team's success. He does really fit our need for someone to play with Hughes. As many have noted, after the first 6 - 7 picks it's really hard to get a handle on the rest of the next 15- 20 picks. I have read many scouting reports and watched a reasonable amount of video on about 30 players, most of whom are projected to go in the first round by most of the major scouting websites. I do have the feeling that Lambert's last season will cause him to drop. He will be an NHL centre, hard to say what his ceiling will be. I don't think we need another smaller offensive D- man, so it does come down to who at 15 is a centre, Kasper , Geekie or Lambert. Bischel if we want to reach that high for what he will bring to our team. Or if we want to risk that pick on one of the Russians, Yurov, or Miro. Personally I would take one of the centres or Bischel based in organisational needs.

For fellow mathematics nerds this year's fields medal will be awarded in Finland on July the 5th. It is often referred to as the Nobel prize for mathematics. In the spirit of the occasion, this guy Eddie Woo is a legend to many of us here in Aus. He became famous all over the world for his YouTube " math lessons"
