Cam Smith is one of, if not the greatest NRL player of all time however it was Bellamy that made him. Now Cam and Billy Slater and Co are gone we are still right up there competing for the cup. As for Miller he doesn't fit the window for our team IMO factoring in what he will want for a couple of good seasons. Look at his history, an elite player he is not over his career. 454 points from 637 games. Can you take an 8 maybe 9 million gamble for 6- 8 years that he will perform like he has for the last couple of years ? If we can get a good/ great return trade him, get good/ great prospects, just as important cap space, and the players we draft will be on ELC'S and then RFA controlled cap hits.

Yes I know Nashville seems to be a factory for D- Men for the NHL. I have been watching some video of Schaefer since he was brought up in this thread. He has the tools, they just need to be developed and honed. As that article points out he stood up when it really counted. That tells me he has a skill that can't be taught, a total will to win/ hate losing.

I know you will have read this. https://thehockeywriters.com/reid-schaefer-2022-nhl-draft-prospect-profile/ With so many of these prospects even first rounders the emphasis is on development/ improvement in their game. Here is Aus we have the NRL, the Nation Rugby League. It is mostly a Queensland and NSW based sport with lots of Islanders playing on the teams. The one Melbourne based team, the Melbourne Storm has a coach, Craig Bellamy. He is a genius at taking other teams throw aways and turning them into really good players in his system, sometimes outright stars. I was just saying to my friend today he is more important to our team than any one single player and there are few of the best players in the competition on the team. In team based sports were it's all about playing a system and a players role in that system, a guy like him is indespensable. I don't know enough a Boudreau to know whether he is that sort of coach.

I love all kinds of music from Beethoven/ Mozart to ragtime, the blues, Doris Day, however I am a punk rocker at heart. I was 11 years old in 1975 when I went to London with my folks and punk was new, the haircuts, the social outrage, this was/ is me. Got tickets to see the circle jerks in September, NOFX my fave band are touring here in early December, I have a signed T- shirt from them, will see them for the 10 th time. Some Rap performers are pure poets, the way the string words together and stir the emotions in people. Take these guys for example When our second longest serving douchebag PM was voted out of both his office and electorate they wrote this song.

I would be willing to bet it's not just about the money. Any athlete that's driven to succeed wants to play/ compete at the highest level against the best. In hockey this equates to the NHL. -
If Savoie is there at 15 and we don't take him I know this would be a mistake. Watched lots of video of this kid, he has so much talent, " hockey IQ" and is relentless. He is gonna be a ripper.

I have been watching a bit of video on both Nemec and Jiricek and I am not sold on them Alf. I do believe they will be NHL players however I am sure if they are top four or bottom four. Of the 2 I would take Jiricek. As others have stated I think Bischel would bring something to our team that we need. Is that worth using the 15th pick on ?

My dad got to 87. I was there for his last breath. He was critically wounded going up the beach on D- day. The doctors told him he might live into his forties if he moved to a warmer climate. He was the kindest, gentlest man I have ever known. I visit his and mums grave, they are buried together, every month and put fresh flowers on it.

Please don't go my friend. You have put so much work into building a fantastic team, and into this league. You are a good guy and the most active member of this league.

Thanks again to all.
