  1. Within the next 2 years when we have the funds to do so and the young core is actually reasonably close to being in their primes. Petey and Hughes are like 5 years from truly in their prime. People are funny
  2. Demko is just starting to figure out how to be a no.1 goalie. What are you talking about?
  3. Yeah I think JB is done with those type of deals
  4. Yeah gets annoying people thinking 21-23 year olds can carry a team to the Stanley Cup. Although they did a hella job last year.
  5. Yup pretty much what I figured. No changes until off-season. Make necessary changes in off-season. Hopefully a decent deal for Pearson or he can walk like the others
  6. Fair Points. Signing Eddie anything more then a year at a time would be risky. His cap hit in theory should drop in half. If he wants to be a Canuck for life there should be no issues taking it a year at a time. A Edler with less minutes is still a very effective Edler. My one pet peeve is the penalties as well, he does tend to take too many and the bad ones he take are usually due to foot speed
  7. Interesting thought for sure someone would take a flyer on him. I guess it’s just not as easy to do in a season like this
  8. Don’t agree with you on Edler there. A lot of teams would have paid him that. It would have turned out to be one of those situations where if Edler was on another team we’d be kicking ourselves. Edler has been massively under appreciated during his time here. 30 other teams would love to have him even at his age. I wouldn’t have moved the Sedins either and they wouldn’t have allowed it either. My only wish is that the started the rebuild with the Sedins instead of re-tooling. We’ve only been rebuilding for 3 years since then. I get what you’re saying about the niceness though. I would have fought to keep a guy like Manny and promoted him as oppose to giving him the ol’ good for you Manny. I would have signed Beagle still. He takes a lot of pressure off for other players, is a warrior and imo hard to beat for a 4th line centre/elite penalty killer. Roussel on the other hand was signed too long and too much. He simply isn’t a very effective player imo
  9. Same. Sutter literally lives on a farm just outside Calgary so makes sense
  10. Personally I just looked at the schedule and saw that we don’t have a back to back situation until 3rd week of March so it made sense to me. We shouldn’t have to worry about putting Holtby in net. Hope Ian and Braden figure it out
  11. Plus minus doesn’t mean crap. Hughes for example was -1 and deserved to be for the goal but he also set up a goal and subbed off.
  12. Yeah I gotta get the facts there. It was my understanding that we had to protect OJ regardless. But I’ll back off if that’s the case of games played but he looks like he deserves to be in the line up and crucial for our future
  13. Very true. I knew Calgary was gonna run Markstrom into the ground. So early in the season too.
  14. True. I’m just talking in regards to OJ sitting. Maybe playing some young players a little more like they did tonight. Also helps not playing from behind
  15. Makes one wonder what performance Demko would have had tonight if he played the back to back. It was the right call. Now you can ride Demko without and back to backs in sight
  16. I don’t think Green is looking at next year unfortunately he’s fighting for his job. Make you wonder if he’d be coaching a bit differently if he had a contract in place for next year
  17. He started the season in the top 6. Hopefully his confidence keeps growing
