It’s not stated who made the call but the reasoning was a lack of “growth” ($ or lack there of) and other social media platforms ($ponsored ad$) were the way to go. Nothing confirmed as to who gave the order but the buck stops at the top.

Really feeling like an end of times moment with this news. I’m not even kidding. This place was a safe space for mental health and an escape from the day to day (which has been getting bleak). Why does this need to happen right before the season starting up?
It’s been such a ride with so many knowledgeable passionate people on here but not just about hockey but about life and relatable topics. As much you all have been great hockey minds, you have all been a great Canuck family. It’s a dark day I wasn’t expecting. I wish you all the best and your unlimited love for this team and franchise.

That's a cop out answer to not play in Canada.
I say once one of them is attached to a team in two years all owners will pay more to advertise league wide, plus Bettman will have to do WAY better.
That is if Bettman allows star power celebs like RR and Snoop own a team. He would be stupid not to help his own brand but he was the gatekeeper of who got to bid for the Sens and the new owner is not a well known name. Michael Andlauer WHO?!
The sooner Bettman retires the better. I have a feeling that the count has one more lockout in him before he retires.

Yes or like the shuffle like we have in the DJ booth the last few years & you do a mashup of all three!
Put that DJ to work and stop playing the outdated mid 2000’s playlist that DJ Dave used when he was in charge of the music at GM Place/Rogers.

I’ve been calling for this goal song forever. I am hoping one day…
But also I’d be pumped if they played this prodigy tune as well. Just a forewarning for our opponents of what’s to come:
Lastly I’d also be ok with the players having their own goal song (they used to do this in 2016 or 2017) but it didn’t last and I don’t know why but it was awesome. Would be in favour of hearing our boys celly to their own tune after they net one.

If I’m Petey’s camp, it’s not just the money but the plan/blueprint of team construction and contention going forward. He doesn’t want to lock himself in with results of the last 3 seasons. He wants to win, because he will get paid well where ever he plays.

2.25 is a good deal. So of course our fanbase is salty about having to pay more then that for 7/8 years on dead cap for him not to play for us. But you would be biased/ignorant to think it wasn’t a decent deal for the panthers.

Satire aside, probably not going to see a team make a contract offer until he’s healthy again. Teams won’t be wasting cap space for a player who is a 4-5-6 guy at best who’s going to miss half of the season.

Would you be surprised coming from
an owner who turned his comments off and is despised by his own city and fan base? So many scandals (berry farm workers, abuse on children, slumlord stories from contractors /residents) it’s all self inflicted on himself.
Him and Benning thinking they knew best as GM and POHO as they told Trevor Linden and his rebuild to kick rocks as a retool will do also has polarized this fanbase as to which is the best path to go.
I cancelled my season tickets last year because of the choices & direction that this team has chosen in the past 5-9 years. I don’t regret my decision and I will continue to have an undying love for this club but this owner can enjoy his toy and his vision (whatever that is) just not on my dime.
You can piss us off and try and silence the fans Francisco, but you will never take
