Agreed WH. Not the player I wanted in the first round (Owen Pickering) but he’s our Canuck prospect now and all we can do is watch and hope he becomes a contributor for us in a few years. People are fast to jump on this kid being a bust, and that’s not right.

100% it was called the summer summit and it was ONLY when TL was the president of hockey operations and the spokesperson that was that line of communication between the STH’s and the FO. Since Linden left in 2018 we have not had one. Imagine having five years of not having a proper gateway/gathering of sharing what the blueprint is. I’m sure many STH’s have questions to ask management & ownership as to what the hell are we doing? Other then desperately trying to make the playoffs, but not good enough to contend. It’s a sick and twisted marathon of Groundhog Day.

Apologies for anyone who has already posted this. Nothing wrong with apologizing and owning up to your mistakes. It’s worse if he didn’t. -
I think many as STH’s have the same mindset. I mean how could anyone continue to fork out thousands annually when nobody comes out to explain the long term plan or direction. The lack of communication up top is what is going to hurt this teams bottom line. You can’t keep running it back and have no communication between the paying customer and the product. At the end of the day we want to all see the cup hoisted in Vancouver but you need a plan. A long term plan, the trust with paying customers is gone. Until JR or even ownership comes out and lays out a 5 year plan of what to expect then fans are not going to buy what this team is selling. That’s the truth of the matter.

Exactly let them develop and cook on the farm. It’s what they needed to do with Pods and Hogs and Boner. While these young players are waiver exempt we need to allow them to grow confidence and develop “the right way” before we have them up on the big club. This is a good move as Äman needs a confidence boost in the minors just as Podz and others needed to.

My Ex knew him in HS in Kitchener and said he did have his moments of being high and mighty. I know what you mean, the look he has in the new Hyundai commercial has (douche) all over it. And if the rumours are true of him challenging Wheeler in the locker room then there is something to that. -

We have a 12-22-1 record against the Jets since they moved from Atlanta. And when playing in Winnipeg they have a 5-15 record. When they were the Thrashers we had a 7-2 record. -
I know this isn’t about the reverse retro jersey but does anyone know what’s up with not wearing the flying skate so far this year? I thought I heard it was our new third jersey but it’s so far been, home whale, away whale, and RR. Just wondering if anyone knew when or if we are going to wear the black skate this year. Because I think we have a crazy record with wearing them, heck even had a winning streak at the end of the season with them last year. What gives with our “new” third jersey?

Since we are on a Canuck’s discussion board and we love to share information with each other regarding our beloved hockey team. Could you elaborate as to what you know? I’m curious because Brock doesn’t sound like he wants to be moved but you sound like you have some information that we aren’t aware of. Care to share and elaborate on Aqua?

Losing Bo as a core piece won’t help our chances. And honestly I think we badly need a RD core piece to be added as well as somehow keeping Bo. Tanev was arguably a core piece we are still looking to replace after almost 3 seasons later. Ideally we need 7-8 fixture pieces not just 4-5.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone at CDC. Thank you @J.I.A.H.N for making this thread and I really hope you enjoy your time with your 7 friends and family and 4 pooches. It sounds like you have been through a lot in the past year (as we all have at one point or the other the last 3 years) it’s so important for us to keep making good memories. As we never know what may happen next year, enjoy the here and now. Your mentioning of the war in Ukraine and I keep thinking about those families that have to deal with such hardship this winter and the last year. This year my family decided to do Ukraine colors only for our Christmas lights. In great respect and in hope that this ends in 2023 and we aren’t still worrying about it next winter. I wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas. Be safe for those traveling. Looking forward to a new year and hopefully new hope for the Canucks in 2023.

It’s for the greater good my friend. Short term pain equates to long term gain. That’s really what it comes down to. The future sadly isn’t now, it’s better to stock up and get more prime pieces in the draft to add to the prime pieces we already have in Demko, Petey and Hughes. Afterall they once upon a time were just picks. Nobody likes to cheer for losing but in the big picture it’s the best route to where we need to go. Welcome to the club!

*You shout your filthy mouth! Some people on here believe that the OEL trade was a steal for the Canucks! Stop trying to spin that 9OA was better then what we got in return*. *Just joking, you are entitled to this post and opinion, just like everyone else is entitled to their opinion* cheers and have a happy holiday! -
Honest Conversation With Those Who Still Support Management
EP Phone Home replied to JohnTavares's topic in Canucks Talk
Your comment reminded me of the before hiring and last press conference that Benning had as GM here. The before and after make no bones about it. The job that these guys are hired to do, make you age and become a shadow of your former self. If I was JR I would retire before the job kills him. The boss sure makes them age. It’s really something else to be honest.
