  1. Are you saying the team is going to try and dump OEL, the player we acquired by trading 9th overall 2021, a 2022 2nd and this years 7th two years ago and then trade our top 10 pick this season to get him off our books? I honestly think it would take more then a top ten pick to dump 4 more years of that contract. Just keep the pick as we need it for building a core around EP and Hughes. we need more youth and skill/depth to become a contender. We made our bed with the OEL trade as he’s got a NMC attached to that contract.
  2. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Learn from your mistakes. Your concern is warranted. As we go for take-two of retool on the fly.
  3. People don’t want to accept the reality of the team’s situation and would rather hold onto hope and believe that the club (baring no key injuries to Hughes/Demko/Petey) will be a contender. Yourself, myself and others speak the truth of what is happening but are considered “not real fans” or “downers” when we have evidence of the last 10 years that chasing a cup is not the way to go. Hard for some to admit that having two super stars are great, but we are wasting their talent by not having a bigger talent pool and depth chart on the roster and on the farm. It takes 5-8 core pieces to be a contender. We have 3 for sure pieces. We will see if Kuz and Podz can be two more. We need at least two more on D with Quinn and Filip (OEL is NOT a core D piece) even though he is paid as one. I have accepted that ownership wants to be cap crunched at all times because he wants to sell his product as a playoff team and it’s his team. I just refuse to believe you can buy a cup, while not having the patience/long term planning to build a winner.
  4. They never began a rebuild. It was always a retool on the fly as JB said back in 2014. Rebuilding teams accumulate draft picks and use them to draft their core and depth. We traded our draft capital opposed to adding to it. That’s not what rebuilding teams do. We were never rebuilding in the first place, drafted Petey in spite of being a cap spending team trying to make the playoffs. That’s what we were, that’s what we are now. We are retooling just as we were.
  5. If you say so…I’ll hold you and everyone saying so to it. And if we are in the SCF in three years I’ll get CDC a section to a SCF game. That’ll show me for being a downer. I hope I’m wrong and I pay through the nose. Retool on the fly take two:
  6. Let’s go for the Stanley cup playoffs next year! This is the goal after all. We are Mid.
  7. There is one plan and one plan only. Make the playoffs. It’s his team, his vision after all. If we don’t like it, I guess we pick a different team, take a hiatus or suck it up and kick rocks.
  8. It’s absolutely exhausting the refusal of not rebuilding the team as every single team has to go through it. We needed to do it in 2018. Canucks legend Linden left this franchise because ownership refuses to build the team like Detroit is doing,LA, Chigago, Minny,San Jose,Washington and Nashville. It’s super bleak and I’m just about done giving this team anymore of my time (money is a given) nothing is going to change until Aquilini accepts a rebuild or sells the team. People can flame me all they want and try and say that the retool on the fly method works. How have the last 9 seasons worked out? If we just went with lindens plan, we would most likely be out of it right about now. I will bet that most of the teams I said above will be ahead of us in the standings. NYR Devils and Minny already are when they started rebuilding in and around 2018 when linden was requesting ownership for a rebuild. It’s absolutely maddening to keep supporting this mandate of “retool on the fly” I can get behind a proper plan, but this whole run it back to be competitive and make the playoffs makes me numb and apathetic as it is with other fans. Very close to taking a longtime break. I’m not switching teams but switching my time management. A few playoff birth appearances doesn’t equate to a cup victory as some posters believe it is. So done Kodos. This is a toxic relationship/ drug. I need to go to rehab and seek help.
  9. Highlight of the night is meeting Canuck Clay in the flesh with my buddy in this photo. Such a good dude and ultra fan. Brocket man got a goal. ✔️ Team tank Victory. ✔️ Meeting a Canuck social media legend: Priceless IMG_1574.MOV
  10. You are correct Agent. Let’s all accept that the Stanley cup is reserved for cup contenders. Our goal is to make the playoffs (clearly) anything beyond that is house money. If you accept that then all those heavy expectations just fade away. I mean how greedy can this fanbase be right? We already have a Stanley park and Brewery! Who needs a Stanley cup when we have the mediocre cup to flaunt around Stanley park. Just accept Canucks fam and it’ll all be ok. ”You don’t always get what you want, but if you try sometime you’ll find you get what you need”
  11. Stop speaking logic and drink Frankie’s Koolaid Ooooooh yaaaaaah! *The contrarian argument is* But if we don’t try and make the playoffs next year, Petey won’t want to sign here long term if we want to rebuild… my argument with that is, Petey is a fantastic player. Likewise with Hughes and Demko. That said the previous management and now current management f**ked up the competitive timeline with the Miller trade, OEL trade, Miller/Boeser resigning and now this trade when we don’t have enough horses in the stable. We don’t have the depth to be a contender. So at this point I want Petey and Hughes to go elsewhere because we aren’t winning anytime soon and we are literally wasting their prime years here. We refuse to accept to tare it down because we are afraid of losing our star player? Well wither fans want to accept it or not, we are going to lose Petey because JB and JR (FA mostly) f**ked up our competitive window. Listening to the morning show today they had a funny segment of what next years slogan should be. It was said that it should be “READY OR NOT HERE WE COME”
  12. At least we aren’t so much in a pickle on RD. Finally a top 4 RD. No more pickle??? We should probably draft a few more eh? So that doesn’t help. But this management is only signed until the end of next year so they need results all the way. IMG_1559.MOV
  13. 3 straight years without one. 2022, this year and 2024 (Dicky trade) plus so many other seasons before it. We really must hate drafting players like Demko and Hogs in the 2nd round to keep doing this. But hey this is our identity and culture of cutting corners and refusing to draft like a rebuilding team does. Refool on the fly all day everyday in the name of Aqualoonie
  14. How are we liking this deal? It’s finally a RSD has one year of term at 4.4 cap. We needed a RSD this is the cost of the rare elusive position that we needed. However, that said I think we might be the franchise that HATES 2nd rounders more then anything. Every year we dump them like an allergic reaction and that we have to get rid of it. Just like death and taxes, you can guarantee Canucks are trading their 2nd round pick. But what do you guys/gals think? Happy? Not happy?
  15. Manic pi-polar behavior of the fanbase. Tomorrow we will all be depressed. But Friday we will be giggity giggity again!
  16. A third is decent! Better then the 7th we got him for 3 years ago from Anaheim with Schenn. Good stuff PA
  17. There was someone on here that thought Stillman was doing a good job developing into a decent defender… then again that same poster thought OEL is still a top 4 D. Whatever the case is, we basically traded a 2nd to dump Dicky for Bloom who is 19 years old and has good OHL numbers. Good few trades from PA and Co. Next up, improve the D any day year now
  18. David Poile is retiring? Why? With moves like these he’s still got it. Trotz might be coming after June 30th but David is setting up Nashville nicely & going out with a bang.
  19. He might have good numbers in Abby (18 points in 26 games) but after this season he is waiver eligible. If he didn’t make the team out of training camp next year, good chance he gets claimed for nothing. So it’s still a good gamble IMO. If he becomes an everyday NHL 4th liner I’ll come back and say I was wrong, that said for the here and now, we got the best player in the trade and that’s a win. The 7th won’t be the next Pavel Datsyuk so while it’s not nothing, it’s not going to burn us either. Kravtsov requires waivers as well but has far better upside and 6 points in 28 games this season which is better then Lockwoods career total 1 assist in 28 career games. It is for sure a worthwhile gamble and trade. Again if Lockwood becomes the next Tyler Motte I’ll buy you a brew and eat some crow.
  20. Exactly there’s zero reason anyone should be complaining about this. We literally gave up nothing in this trade. Lockwood had zero offense and that 7th rounder is 3 years away and it’s a 7th!!! Basically the closest it gets to a future considerations return or waiver pickup. Pretty much free.
  21. Wow that’s decent value. We gave up not much. Lockwood was good for hitting but didn’t do much else. This was a smart trade.
  22. Right?! There are just a flood of unnecessary emails that we are receiving like the “family day tickets extended” WHO CARES! I want to unsubscribe but worried if I would miss an actual important email. One thing is becoming clear, they are looking very desperate with the volume of useless emails they are sending. Almost like the well is running dry and they are saturating with marketing to try and sell anything they can get. “Book your own suite for friends, families and memories” not with this crappy product. Won’t be missing this after the season is over and I cut myself loose from all the BS.
  23. I’m still hopeful that Luke circles back to us in the off season but the past few weeks have been a tough situation for him and his wife. The closer we get to TDL the harder it will be for them. For their family’s sake that something gets done today/this weekend.
