  1. The Vancouver Canucks- been a proud, meddling/middling franchise since 2013. Frankie can’t keep his greasy mitts off this team. Looking for another quick fix with a coach bump. We all see where this is going. But hey it’s not our team… it’s his and his refool on the fly forever vision.
  2. I please ask @-SN- to not remove the Bruce there it is reaction until the season is over. I say keep it until he is no longer on the teams payroll. The reaction is a beauty just as Bruce has always been. We all know that the inevitable will occur next week but we must keep his spirit here at least until the end of the season.
  3. You are correct with the softball questions being asked at those events. It sometimes felt like the questions were already prepared by PR which doesn’t answer all the questions that STH’s truly want to ask. That said same could be said for the media asking softball questions to management, it’s all somewhat filtered regardless to keep things civil. While it’s not the perfect system to voice public opinions on, it was more then what we have had in the last 5 years. I recall that beer price question, good times
  4. While I respect your thread of needing a voice to speak for the fans. What used to happen was way back when Gillis was the GM and President there would be a season ticket holder summit called the summer summit. This was a Q & A session for STH’s to ask management questions and concerns about the club. This was all the way up to when Linden was the president but since he left this concept has been abandoned. Unfortunately it leaves a void and no voice for the actual legit paying customers who spend 5-20 thousand a year for season tickets and merch. While I agree there needs to be an outlet for the fans who have been long time contributors to helping this club be a highly valuable franchise. While some people don’t agree that fans should have a say with how this team has been operating, how else are you going to continue their loyalty and dedication to this franchise with their precious disposable income? Is that just the risk of doing business? Perhaps but you begin to lose fan support and interest when the heavy revenue spending fans have a sense of hopelessness when they aren’t heard or questions never answered. I’d be thrilled if they ever brought back the summer summit to STH’s like myself because wether people want to accept it or not, fans are what give this franchise value and we aren’t some clueless paypig that mindlessly forks over dough. Appreciate the idea of a spokesperson to represent the fans, however there are just too many differential opinions and visions from a huge market fanbase to appease everyone. Having something like the summer summit Q &A would be ideal for the voices that do pay the teams bills on a regular basis is the most fair and accurate method to achieve this goal. Now whether or not this management regime will do this is another story.
  5. Let’s keep rolling to the bottom Tank nation. The purpose of this lost season is to recoup elite talent on this team/ in our system. See you tonight for those attending at the Roj.
  6. Through all the pain of these lost seasons. You are the one of a handful of few that know how to crack a smile on a defeated fanbase. Thank you @eeeeergh and never change.
  7. Ding ding DeNiro! This is exactly what I’m curious about with regards to our scouting. Why oh why are we so terrified of acquiring draft picks and instead more interested in going for other teams rejects. Is it the fact our scouting staff is razor thin since Judd Bracket left? Is it that ownership believes that draft picks don’t sell butts in seats or that they take too long to develop? Why does it feel like we are allergic to drafting our own cost controlled prospects? It’s something I’ve been wondering about for quite sometime and you are asking the right questions with your post.
  8. With us not drafting a RHD last year and it being the glaring weakness out of the all team positions, they need to draft at least a couple especially in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. We need elite defense prospects, can’t keep ignoring this much coveted position that costs way too much in free agency or through trade. For a capped out team like us with no RHD that’s in the system aside from Woo that’s remotely close, we need to get going here. Takes time to develop Dmen and that’s one area that this new management last year and the previous management regime failed to do. I agree I really hope we can accumulate another 2nd or 3rd (of course additional 1sts but more unlikely) for this draft. The sooner we restock the cupboards with our own cost controlled ELC’s the sooner we can get back on track to compete. Please no more shortcuts by taking on other teams castoffs/busts.
  9. “There’s nothing quite like it” I laugh hearing those ads selling tickets on the radio. “Watch them take on Winnipeg one of their great Canadian rivals” If only we had a good team to create rivalry’s with.
  10. I’m guessing you are talking about Frank Seravalli who said Kuzmenko is worth a 2nd but not greater then that because he doesn’t drive play and is still an unknown because he hasn’t played in the playoffs… As he’s on pace for 65-70 points in his first NHL campaign. Yup that clown. I heard that take too and had a good chuckle
  11. I mean it’s been what? Three wasted seasons since the bubble run now. We had the covid season (Canadian division) of 2021. We had the summer of aggressive Jim and then the Bruce bump of 2022. Now we have a new season with this management team and same ambitions with same results. Hard to keep being a fan when we refuse to change the game plan. It’s literally insane thinking things will be different doing the same thing. It’s wild we are trying to contend to be in the playoffs with our payroll and allergies to having draft picks and yet be a bottom 6 team. The philosophy of this team has to change.
  12. Garth Butcher was at the game. They could’ve used him on the ice. It was great seeing Trevor there too. Classy of him to make it.
  13. Your team, your direction. Your same shit different pile. Enjoy your playoffs
  14. The tank is the only tingly feeling I have for this season. Everything else is numb. IMG_1139.MOV
  15. I was shocked to see Linden making an appearance tonight. Such a first class guy and how Aqua hired and fired him was just so wrong. Linden had a plan and Aqua said f**k that I want to make the playoffs. The rest is history… that keeps repeating again and again and again.
  16. Just got this email. If there was any doubt they wouldn’t be doing something, we can lay those doubts to rest now. Thank you Gino!
  17. Would love to see OEL reach 40 points for one of the seasons he is here. Just so we get some sort of value out of him. Don’t see it but would love to be wrong. Half way there with just under half a season to go.
  18. I’d go no further than 5X3. If we can’t retain our captain and home grown player who has played his heart and soul for this team. Then signing a rookie winger to a deal that’s around what Bo makes now, I will really question the priorities of this team. Love Kuz but I love Bo more and we are losing Bo and potentially over paying for Kuz’s next deal. Can anyone answer me why taking on other teams young players/castoffs is a better idea then drafting cost controlled ELC’s? I ask this because while Kuz was a UFA signing. Any found money we find with this “second chance” method on expiring ELC contracts will have similar cap problems. Which is why I think this route is flawed for a team that’s already cap crunched. No runway for any long term success, always have a year or two and that player is getting his bag somewhere else because we can’t afford it.
  19. GF is making a sign for Bruce for tonight’s game. This guy has been all class from day one. I was at the LA game for his first game that started that chant, hopefully this won’t be his last. But if it is, Bruce will always be a beaut!
  20. Maybe we will see in 2-3 years when Guenther is a everyday NHL sniper. He’s learning the NHL pace right now. Canucks need one of those when we unload Boeser. And seeing how we aren’t close of being a contender, he absolutely would be a piece that would help this team. Sure will have a better future then a washed up OEL and a middle 6 forward in Garland. Time will prove this. Otherwise you can quote me and I’ll admit when I’m wrong. But I disagree. He would help this team score goals for us as he did for team Canada at the WJHC.
  21. Agreed. Some of those TRUE fans that you’ve said have tried to shoot down any negativity opinions on how this team has been run into the ground. They are a big part of the problem of not accepting reality and where we really are. It’s a hockey forum but I’ll never belittle or try and chastise someone’s opinion on how they feel about the team. Others think you aren’t a “real/true fan” if you have an against the grain thought of this team. The criticism is warranted and those that have been posting their concerns have some vindication. There is loyalty and then there is blue and green colored goggles.
  22. They absolutely need to acknowledge him. Was surprised there was no mention of him in the press conference on Monday. But like you I’d expect them to give Gino his due tonight. They owe it to one of the gems of that era.
  23. Hoping to see some recognition before the game tonight for Gino. One of the best brawlers ever. We lost a better person and fan favorite. Give him his due and acknowledge Gino. It’s respectful as an organization and to give the fans something to cheer about. I’ll be there raising my hat and beer tonight. Thanks Gino for all the memories of those lunch bucket 90’s teams.
  24. Unlike Linden, Steamer puts up with the owners “no plan, make the playoffs at all cost plan” and is used as a figurehead much like Linden was used to shield off the blame and heat that should be directly at ownership. I love Steamer the player and the unbeaten intern GM but he is a Canuck lifer whatever the direction is, he will follow and take the heat away from Aqua, will say that ownership has no involvement with hockey ops. Which the proof/history is already there for everyone to judge and see for themselves. Linden couldn’t buy this vision but Steamer wants to remain with the club that’s treated him well. Each to their own. But that’s what I’ve seen out of this.
