My friend's kid had a kid last year. It was her second child. She was in and out of the hospital in less than 2 days. They don't keep you in the hospital very long these days. Once you are at home, it's up to you to figure it out. Lots of people hire midwives to be with them before and after the birth of the child. They usually stay with the mom for up to 6 weeks after the child is born. But like you said, if it's her 3rd child then Schenn's wife has already been through this drill 2 times already, so unless there is a complication, she should be fine on her own without her husband. The biggest thing for Luke is wanting to be there for the birth. The fact that he is in Vancouver playing the Canucks on Saturday means he will be in town for the birth, and if the baby is late, I am sure Toronto will allow him to stick around until the kid is born...

I agree. Trying to squeeze him in for a deadline deal won't work, it's too complicated. When summer comes, teams will be buying out guys, RFA's won't get qualified, the draft will be over, etc. There could be 2-3 teams with enough cap space to make it work. At the end of the day, probably the best deal would be a one for one where we take on a big cap hit on defence and move out Boeser with hopefully no retention at all. So, find a $6 million defenceman who a team wants to move. Hopefully a RHD. That way, cap isn't an issue. Jut moving money around for both teams to different positions. Not sure who that Dman could be though...

(Rumour) 4 teams interested in J.T. Miller

Miller, like Boessr isn't going anywhere. It's over. Time to move forward... -
So, players aren't allowed to be traded if their wives are pregnant? Is this a clause in the CBA that nobody knows about? This stuff happens all the time in sports. Also, she doesn't need to fly after she has the baby. All the doctors and nurses are right here in Vancouver and their home is in Kelowna. That's where they live as that is where the wife and her family are from. I'm not the one pretending, you are making false statements against an organization without even having a clue what is going on in the background. I'm sorry, but coaches get fired all the time. The parasitic media followed JR around North America and spotted him in Vegas talking to Tocchet, so what was he supposed to do? Normally you don't fire a coach until the new one has agreed to a contract. The timing of the firing is on the team's timeline not the parasites in the media's timeline. That's how it works. Bruce quite honestly didn't do himself any favours either by talking to all of those parasites on a daily basis and turning it into a media circus and farewell Bruce tour for 2 weeks. He could have just ignored the media and told them it was a personal issue and leave it at that. He promoted it and pushed it with all of his interviews. Interestingly enough, when Boudreau was hired by the Anaheim Ducks, Randy Carlyle was still the coach. Bruce admitted that he actually watched the last game before Carlyle got fired on tv and thought it was strange that he was watching Carlyle coach his last game knowing that he already had signed a contract to be the next coach of Anaheim. So, Bruce was on the other end as well similar to Tocchet. He didn't seem to have a problem signing a contract while the other coach was still coaching knowing he would be fired the next day. So, stop making Boudreau out to be some sort of saint that was vilified and treated worse than Jesus...

(Rumour) 4 teams interested in J.T. Miller

Yes, that is why my first trade proposal is the one I am thinking will happen. McGinn was put on waivers, so he is obviously the guy they want to go. And the Canuck need to retain on Boeser for this to work. POJ and a 2nd round pick probably closes the deal... -

Who is the one explaining it that is saying it doesn't make sense? A couple of CDC posters? I heard Satiar Shah discuss it and he said he would be on board with it. I've heard others as well. The buyout if it happens this summer is not as bad as you think. The entire $7.26 million is wiped out for next year. So, it's really only a 7-year buyout. And only two of those years is over $2 million. It's not ideal, but it's way better than keeping him on the books for 4 more years at $7.26 million. -

OEL already had Tocchet as his coach and it didn't work out. So, it's not going to work out this time either. Our defence needs a 100% overhaul. The only legit NHL Dman we have that is worth keeping is Hughes. So, we are looking at needing 4-5 guys minimum if we want to ever see the playoffs again. -

I can live with the $2.1 million for the extra 4 years on a buyout if it allows us major cap space for the next 2 years to try and fix this defence. It can't be fixed if we have a $7.26 million anchor on it for the next 4 years... -

I's not going to be Miller. It's going to be Boeser. We will probably have to retain $2 million to make this work. A deal around Boeser for POJ, McGinn and a pick makes the most sense. They may want a Dman back as well. Maybe Wolanin or Brisebois might interest them. Would need to retain $2 million to make this work for Pittsburgh. The other scenario is they trade Zucker instead of McGinn to us and we retain only $1 million and Pitttsburgh can use the extra cap space to get another Dman. They probably want to keep Zucker though if they want to make a playoff run... -

First off, you can't trade OEL, nobody will take him, even with $3 million retention. Secondly, even if there was one team out there he probably vetoes the deal. Thirdly, even if there is one team out there and we retain $3 million, that's still on the books for 4 years, or during our supposed window. That's not much different than the $4.7 million on the buyout. At the end of the day, trying to trade OEL is fantasy. It will never happen. So, you either need to keep him on the books at $7.26 million for 4 more years, which screws our cap the most, or you can buy him out this summer and have the next two years as almost freebies in order to completely rebuild the defence. I'd rather have the $7.26 million completely off the books next year along with Myers $6 million if Arizona will take him, and then have that $13 million freed up to get 3-4 NHL Dmen... -

[Rumour] Nikita Tryamkin eyeing NHL return
Elias Pettersson replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Tryamkin would be on the top pairing in Vancouver if he was playing on Thursday. Wouldn't take much to beat out Burroughs, Wolanin, Juulsen, Brisebois and Myers. All those guys need to go in the summer. We can keep Juulsen and Brisebois in Abby or they can be 7/8 Dmen next year. Once we trade Myers and buyout OEL we will have 3-4 spots open for next year. Our defence is pathetic. Tryamkin can come in and start on the 3rd pairing and go from there. Not sure why people wouldn't want a 6'8" 250lb beast of a man in the lineup when all we got right now are AHL scrubs. He's gonna be 29 when the season starts next year. This is his last shot. Not sure why people keep bringing up what he did when he was 21. I'm pretty sure most NHL players change a bit in 9 years from when they first entered the league...
