  1. Colorado got lucky that they ended up with the 4th overall pick. It’s not like they planned to get that. Same thing could happen with the Islanders pick if they don’t make the playoffs and are dumb enough to give us their 2024 1st. As for trading Miller, some are quite happy to trade him for JK, Morrow and a 1st. JK might be a $5 million 3C for his career. Morrow isn’t even signed yet. He could literally walk after 2 more years and pull an Adam Fox. The 1st round pick will be in the late 20’s and could be a complete bust. So there is no guarantee we will be any father ahead by trading Miller. At least if we keep him we know exactly what we got. Also, the whole freeing up of $8 million in cap space so we can go out and spend that money on a bunch of overpriced UFA’s makes zero sense as well.
  2. Translation: “I needed a 32nd thought to fill up my show so I made up some sh*t on JT Miller for clicks”…
  3. Didn't Tocchet say that Demko would be playing on the road trip?
  4. Miller was our 1C last year while Petey was trying to figure out his game. Miller didn't play much with Petey, he was centering his own line. Surprised you didn't know this. Maybe you should watch the actual games more often...
  5. Fun fact #1 Before BO: Faceoffs - 49.5% After BO: Faceoffs - 53.4% Fun fact #2: Two highest faceoff win percentages in the 2022-2023 NHL season: Feb. 15, 2023 - 63.16% Feb. 18, 2023 - 60.32%
  6. So, they didn't watch many Canucks games is my guess. They thought a 215 pound bull would be putting guys through the glass. They must be in real shock right now...
  7. I'm pretty sure that trade involving Byfield for Chychrun was true and LA backed out at the last minute...
  8. Yes, however they have the cap space to take on Gavrikov, so not sure what the hold up would be for another transaction to take place. Unless they are working on multiple deals and want to move Cal Petersen...
  9. In watching the twins their entire career, I am pretty confident that they would not have had the same success they did if they were drafted by different teams. Their biggest talent was playing together. Yes, for a short time Henrik played well without Daniel, I believe that was the year he got 112 points. However, if he had started his career on a different team, it would have been a completely different story. Meanwhile, Petey can play with just about anyone and excel. The other thing is Petey is very strong defensively. His favourite player growing up was Peter Forsberg, so he molds his game after him, which is why you see him being more physical these days. The Sedins were never strong in the defensive zone and neither was Pavel.
  10. Boston could easily take on Gavrikov if Columbus retained 50% and also took on Mike Reilly's contract. The ask is probably too high as they would want more picks for the retention and taking Reilly's contract. I suspect it is Edmonton who is all in and they need to move some money out first...
  11. The twins couldn't even skate when they entered the NHL. Meanwhile, Petey won the Calder trophy. Henrik didn't hit 100 points until he was 29. Petey is on pace for 103 points at age 24. He might be a regular 100-point player moving forward. Henrik had 1070 points in his career. Petey could break 1500 before he retires...
  12. Beau was on pace for 33 points playing with the Islanders. Suddenly he has 6 points in 7 games playing with Vancouver. Meanwhile, BO, for the first time all season, has gone scoreless in 3 consecutive games. I’m sure this is just a coincidence though.
  13. Fun fact: Luke Schenn's best scoring season ever was in 2010-2011 his 3rd year in the NHL. He had 5 goals and 17 assists for 22 points. 2022-2023 - Luke Schenn has 3 goals and 17 assists for 20 points in 55 games played. This year will be his best scoring season ever...
  14. In 1985-86, Wayne Gretzky finished with a record 215 points. In comparison, Mario Lemieux finished 2nd with 141 points. Imagine beating Mario Lemieux to the scoring title by 74 points...
  15. I think he could be easily flipped at next year's trade deadline. In terms of keeping Beau, that is a tough call. You are looking at a $5 million a year deal for sure if he's going to UFA. He's getting a Garland type contract for sure if he can put up 45-50 points next year. Do we have space for him? Depends. I would say if we decide we want to keep him then Garland would have to go. I would trade Garland to keep Beau 100%. Also, depends on if we are keeping Miller at centre. If we get lucky enough to draft one of the big 3 centres this year then Miller might move back to the wing, so one less spot for Beau. Good news is we have Beau for one more year before we need to make any decisions...
  16. I could see him ordering a burger and fries and they come down and bring it to him. That would be epic.
  17. JT Miller went after him right away, unlike certain other ex-Canucks. Konecny ran to the bench behind the linesmen like a little b*tch looking for Deslauriers to help him out...
  18. Last 4 games: Beau - 5 points BO - 1 point
  19. Raty won't be ready for at least 2 years. They are not going to rush him. The only two players that will be NHL ready next year from the 2023 draft are Bedard and Fantilli. And even Fantilli would need to play as a 3C for a year. If you trade Miller you effectively have no 2C for at least a year unless we get Bedard and maybe two. Trying to get a legit 2C in the free agent market is fantasy. Who is available as a 2C? Those guys don't get to free agency, see Horvat. Larkin will 100% sign before he hits free agency. You can run a Sean Monahan as a 2C, but that is a huge downgrade on Miller and he probably gets injured again which is a huge risk. The one thing about Miller is that he is very durable. He rarely gets injured. Also, even if we got a 2C, he can simply move to left wing. It's not like we have all these high end left wingers to replace him. We have Kuzy and that is it. Most of our prospects are right wingers not left wingers. Miller is fine on this team, even if we are rebuilding. He plays multiple positions, has been very consistent point wise for the better part of 4 1/2 years, can take faceoffs, run a PP from the half wall and even penalty kill. Even Petey said that everyone likes to sh*t on Miller. So even the players recognize all the bs that is out there that gets manipulated by the parasites we have in our media...
