  1. So if Demko is fully healthy and ready to go you are supposed to tell him to keep faking his injury until the end of the season? Why would he agree to that?
  2. If Demko is ready to go you can’t just keep him out of the lineup. Demko would never agree to that. No player would.
  3. No, that trade was voided at the last minute for the Columbus trade...
  4. The excitement obviously comes from the fact that this kid is 6’6″ and can move pretty well. He’s shown some flashes of offensive skill but from what we’ve heard, Pulli is a bit of a chaos creator on the backend. He’s still very young and you can’t teach size, so, this player definitely should draw interest from NHL teams.
  5. We are slowly getting a new identity for this team. We should have some big changes for next season. I predict an entire overhaul of the defence and some more sandpaper added up front. It's going to be a busy summer for JR/PA...
  6. What about Carolina? They could get Myers and make Chatfield their 7th D. Having Burns, Pesce and Myers on the right side in the playoffs might help them to go up against Boston. They have tons of cap space for next year to keep Myers for one more year. We could retain $2 million if we need to...
  7. OEL will be playing in Timrä next year once we buy him out in the summer. So, you can watch him play live every week...
  8. To Columbus: Brock Boeser Nils Höglander To Vancouver: Adam Boqvist Sean Kuraly Columbus is a mess. But soon, they will have Connor Bedard and David Jiricek in their lineup. So, they will be looking to immediately become a playoff team next season. Adding Boeser and Höglander to a forward group of Bedard, Gaudreau, Laine, Marchenko, Sillinger and Johnson could vault them right into playoff contention and make them a powerhouse offensive team for years to come. With Jiricek in the lineup next year, they won't need Boqvist, so they shouldn't have a problem moving him out. Boqvist gives us a Hughes lite on the right side. He would run the 2nd unit PP. He has world class speed and a great shot. If he can improve defensively then he would truly be a top 4 Dman in this league. Kuraly is a Tocchet type of player. He has speed to burn, is big and physical and loves to hit. He has lots of playoff experience and can kill penalties. He would be our 3C. Salaries are fine both ways so we could offload Boeser's entire salary no problem. Who says no?
  9. Aidan McDonough is 23 years old. This means that he can become a Group 6 UFA if he plays 3 pro seasons under contract by age 25. If he signs with the Canucks and plays a minimum of one pro game this year, then this year would count as a pro season. So, he would be eligible to become a UFA after two more seasons of playing pro hockey as long as he plays less than 80 full games in the NHL. He would be a Group 6 UFA at age 25. If he waits until August to sign with an NHL team, then he would have to play 3 full years before he becomes a UFA, so he would be 26. The incentive is the burning of the 1st year of his ELC, which would happen after playing in only 1 pro game this year. His ELC would be for 2 years which includes this year, and then he would only need one more year before he is UFA...
  10. Aidan McDonough gave us his word he would sign here. From all accounts, he is a man of his word. There is no reason to suspect he won't sign here. No reason at all. Only speculation on CDC. I put his chances of signing with us at 100%. IMO, it's already a done deal. He will be playing in Abby with his BFF within 2 months after he gets a few games with the big club and burns the first year of his ELC...
  11. There is no room for Boeser. We have lots of wingers to go around. He can't play a 3rd line role either because he doesn't kill penalties. He's either in your top 6 or he's not in your lineup. They are showcasing him for a trade. It's so obvious. The Kuzmenko stuff is all noise. Management just signed him to an $11 million extension. I highly doubt they want him sitting on the bench. Tocchet is not going to force JR to trade Kuzmenko. Not gonna happen. Tocchet will have to learn that not every player is going to be a great 200' player. If Kuzy is popping in 40 goals a year then Tocchet should be able to live with some of his defensive deficiencies...
  12. It would have been a great ending for sure. Maybe even overtime. Instead, the ending was almost as bad as the halftime show...
  13. It would have been a way harder field goal. And he already had missed one earlier in the game. No reason to call a holding on that play at all. There is holding on every play in the NFL. You can call holding all game long if you wanted to...
  14. I agree. He is totally marketable for them. Now that Brady is gone they needed a new face of the NFL…
  15. That was the worst halftime show in NFL history. On top of that, the game was rigged with the worst holding call in Super Bowl history…
  16. With Dustin Brown night and now the Super Bowl, I don’t see this trade being announced until tomorrow morning. LA told Clarke he wasn’t involved in the trade, however they did not deny the trade itself. I think Chychrun is going to LA…
  17. So LA is trading Brandt Clarke. I thought he was untouchable. Sometimes GM's get desperate in pursuit of the Stanley Cup. Makes sense for LA as Chychrun speeds up their rebuild and is still only 24. LA also have lots of other RHD. I'm thinking it's Brandt Clarke, 2023 1st round pick and a roster player, maybe Cal Petersen as a cap dump. If it's Petersen I can see another pick included...
  18. The only way they are getting rid of Greenway is with a salary dump. That's why I proposed him with this trade. Their other option is to buy him out. The other guy they can move is Foligno. We could also retain on Boeser. I'd be fine with taking back Gustavsson as well. He is a major upgrade on Martin and Delia and would allow us to trade Demko and have a #1 for next year. And we could sign Jarry in the summer and go with a Jarry/Gustavsson combo. Höglander is only 21. I could see him flourish if given the opportunity on another team. And Boeser is only 25 and would probably re-sign in Minnesota as a UFA, so it's also a futures trade. To Minnesota: Brock Boeser ($2 million retained) Nils Höglander To Vancouver: Jordan Greenway Filip Gustavsson 2024 2nd round pick I'd do this deal in a heartbeat...
  19. Yeah, that is where the memory comes back. Dude was a stud defensively. I think he's a hall of famer if my memory is really coming back. Gonchar and Zubov. I'm thinking I actually mixed the two up. Gonchar was the offensive defenseman who was solid defensively, and Zubov was the defensive defenseman who was also very good offensively. So basically Gonchar and Foote compliment each other perfectly with Vancouver. Quinn might turn into a beast with those two. Don't write him off yet. I would put money down that he wins the Norris before age 30...
  20. He ruined the future of two different teams. How do these people keep their jobs? And people thought Benning was a terrible drafter. Imagine having the 1st and 2nd overall picks back to back and both players are 3rd liners? At least Juolevi and Virtanen were drafted 5 and 6. If we had the 1st and 2nd those years we would have drafted PLD and Draisaitl.
  21. Boeser is heavily linked to Minnesota. New Jersey as well. You are saying neither team is a fit for Boeser so why all the rumours linking Boeser to these two teams? If Minnesota is so good defensively that they would make any goalie look good then why do they need Wallstedt? Gustavsdon is only 24 and is 3/4 in the league in GAA and SV%. Heck he might even get some Vezina votes. Copley has bounced around the NHL. He’s already 31 and is an average borderline #1. He doesn’t have the pedigree of Demko and is not in the same league as Gustavsson. In any event, if Minnesota really wants to keep Wallstedt then I’d be totally fine in taking him out of the deal and adding Gustavsson instead. Maybe we can squeeze a 3rd or 4th round pick from Minny as well in this case.
  22. Faber is a local Minnesota boy just like Boeser. He is not even signed yet, so I doubt he would want to come to Vancouver. He will sign in Minnesota. Gustavsson is having a great year for them and is only 24, so he can be their goalie of the present and of the future IMO...
  23. Raymond and Ballard only. I wouldn't even give them the 1st round pick...
