  1. Boser ($2 million retained) to Vegas for KK and a 2nd round pick. I would pull the trigger right away. The 2nd round pick is for the retention...
  2. Yes, Raty takes faceoffs right handed. He switches his stick around. Here is a video of him doing it in his first game down in the minors...
  3. It’s not the cap hit it’s the term. Pittsburgh’s window is 2 years. Why would they want to sign Jarry to a 6 year deal?
  4. Pittsburgh will have cap issues next year. Apparently Jarry wants $6 million. Not sure if Pittsburgh can afford that and they may not want to sign him long term. Their window is two more years then Crosby’s contract is up. Rumour has it they are interested in Demko. $5 million for 3 more years fits their timeline. I’d do the 6x6 for Jarry. He’s basically the same age as Demko. Lock him up until he is 34.
  5. Boston has around $21 million in cap space this summer to sign 10 guys. Not sure they have the cap space to sign Pastrnak to a $10 million+ contract. They really need to go all in this year as this may be their last shot for awhile. I'm surprised their package for Horvat wasn't better than the Islanders. Most likely JR/PA wanted Raty over Lysell. Bringing in Boeser may make sense to them if they don't feel they can get the Pastrnak deal done. In fact, after this year if Boston can't sign Pastrnak, they might have to consider blowing it all up and trading McAvoy to the highest bidder...
  6. Islanders are signing BO to a billion dollar contract. They have no mo money for Mayfield. Graves is a UFA, we will get Adam Foote to convince him to come here. LA needs a goalie like mice need cheese. Clarke is the one coming back...
  7. Tristan Jarry. UFA. From Surrey. He has a better career record than bubble Demko...
  8. Hughes Mayfield Graves Clarke Tryamkin Foote Rathbone Livingstone Graves, Mayfield, Tryamkin, Livingstone all UFA's. We trade Luke Schenn to Tampa for Callan Foote. We trade Demko to LA for Brandt Clarke... Who doesn't like this defence?
  9. We have new management and new coaches now. Also, I forgot to mention that we also have Sergei Gonchar. Gonchar is a legend in Russia. Imagine if Tryamkin had Gonchar as his defensive coach? Not saying he will come to Vancouver, but if the offer is there I don't see why he wouldn't want to come back. At least he knows the city...
  10. I'd take him to play on the 3rd pairing next year. He'd be an upgrade on Stillman and Burroughs. He won't get a crazy offer either like a normal NHL UFA. I'd say his offers will be in the $1.5 to $2 million range. I don't see a team paying him much more than that coming from the KHL and being a defensive defencman... With Kuzmenko and potentially Podkolzin on the team next year, he should feel comfortable around here.
  11. Didn't Igor Larionov come to Vancouver at age 29 and ended up playing 14 years in the NHL?
  12. You make some fair points and I agree with them for the most part. You probably weren't around here when I defended Benning tooth and nail for years. I finally saw the light last year and realized that maybe he wasn't doing everything correctly. Sure, we had guys that went directly to the NHL because of our high picks. We also had guys that were sent to Utica and for whatever reason didn't develop properly. One of the most obvious is DiPietro. Alot of people think his development was not handled properly, especially during COVID. Then you have guys like Jared Mccann and Gustav Forslin who were traded before they reached their potential. I understand the logic behind trading them, which was to get more ready NHL players, but at the end of the day it backfired on Benning, as the guys we got back never really helped us. Sven Baertschi is another one, who we traded a 2nd round pick for. If we had kept the pick we most likely get Rasmus Andersson who is now a top 4 Dman in the league. Nikita Tryamkin was another pick that IMO was not handled properly. He should have been playing with us for the last few years, but Benning played hardball with him on contract talks. Jake Virtanen was thrown into the NHL as a 19-year-old. They should have left him in junior for one more year and then send him to Utica afterwards for a year. Instead, he bounced from the NHL back to the AHL which most likely hurt his development and his confidence. Juolevi I agree, he had the injuries so we don't know what would have happened with him. In terms of Benning having no prospects to start, I agree, Gillis left him nothing. Regardless of that, you can't just throw guys into the NHL when they aren't ready. Pick up some cheap UFA's to fill spots on the roster until the young guys are ready. Problem with that is the team wouldn't be very competitive, so then you get into the situation of what the owner wants. Aquilini seemed to want a competitive team from the get-go, which is most likely why Benning rushed some guys into the lineup. Like I said, I did stick up for Benning for years, so I made the same arguments back then that you are making now. IMO, JR/PA are changing this team from the top down, making some cultural changes as well. Colliton and the Sedins are really helping Abby. They are also realizing that we need more prospects, so hence the Horvat trade was all about the future not the present. I can see JR trading for more prospects. Demko seems to be on the trade block, and I think we are looking at trying to get a young Dman back in the trade. We will see. Same with Boeser. Boeser for Alexander Holtz is being rumoured.
  13. No doubt that most of the players on the team are Benning’s players. Benning was a very good scout. I will not take that away from him at all. However, in terms of the actual management of the team, it is JR/PA that are getting that organization to be at the top of the AHL. We are currently sitting 8th out of the 32 teams in the AHL. If Benning was still the GM do you think that Podkolzin and Höglander would have been sent down to Abby? That’s a big part of the change this year. JR is known for not rushing the young guys. Benning not so much. The other change is the coach. Seems Colliton is doing a better job down there than Cull. And then you have the Sedins who are a big part of the development of our young players. Moving forward I have full confidence that Abby will now be a place where our prospects can grow to their full potential versus getting rushed into the lineup or just not developing at all. How many prospects actually developed in Utica under Benning? Demko? I can’t think of any others to be honest. I could be wrong though. I know we had some guys that jumped right to the NHL, but you need to develop those 2nd and 3rd round picks in order to be a successful franchise.
  14. Remember that piece of sh*t from Boston who jumped Podkolzin and damaged his face? He just got destroyed by Wayne Simmonds and is now in concussion protocol…
  15. I guess running a gambling ring is a lot worse than instructing your players to try and purposely injure the opponents players and possibly end their careers. You are definitely the King of morality…
  16. #17 will be open when he plays in Vancouver…
  17. Meier is going to cost them a lot more than Holtz. We’re talking Holtz plus their 2023 1st, plus maybe a 2nd as well. Plus on top of that I’m assuming New Jersey would want to re-sign him in the summer. As a 26 year old RFA, he will be looking for $8 million+ on a long term deal. Does New Jersey want to commit to Meier long term at $8 million+, or would they be better off with Boeser for another 2 years at almost 50% less of a cap hit at $4.65 million?
  18. I don't think they do. I'd be happy with McLeod for Boeser. But damn, if Allvin can get the Swedish guy Holtz, holy moly...
  19. If this rumour is true then Boeser for Holtz is a home run trade. Even better than the Horvat trade. Holtz is a pure sniper and has a world class shot, similar to Patrik Laine. I'd easily retain $2 million on Boeser to get Holtz. He would instantly become our best prospect, better than Raty.
  20. I doubt Jersey would trade Holtz for Boeser. However, I would take Michael McLeod straight up. With Raty and McLeod at 3C and 4C I think we would be good to go up the middle and have some strong faceoff guys as well as strong penalty killers. I have a feeling the defence will get fixed via free agency. I can see us buying out OEL in the summer and going hard after Ryan Graves, Scott Mayfield, Carson Soucy...
  21. I've watched quite a bit of Jurmo since I saw him at the WJC last summer. I didn't realize how good he was until I saw him dominate guys his age. So I spent some time on YouTube. He is already physically ready for the NHL. He skates like Quinn Hughes and has great edge work. He looks to be sound defensively, but also likes to rush the puck up the ice ala Quinn Hughes. Once he is in the offensive zone he does seem to know what to do with the puck in terms of distribution. He is playing on a team that has alot of older players on it. So, his numbers don't stand out. The ultimate test is to get him over to Abby next year and see how he compares with Rathbone, Woo and Brisebois.
