  1. To Carolina: Thatcher Demko To Vancouver: Pyotr Kochetkov Scott Morrow
  2. Maybe it was always BO that was going to be dealt and Lou pulled the plug at the draft but went through with it now...
  3. I didn't ignore what you said and wasn't deflecting from your original point. To me, it doesn't make a difference whether 50% of his assists were primary or secondary because Boeser is being paid to be a goal scorer. If you think he is still being effective collecting primary assists then that's fine, we have a difference of opinion on that. He got squeezed out of the top PP? That's a stretch IMO. I think he got beat out by a better goal scorer who's in his rookie season and is already on pace for 35 goals. Kuzmenko drives play and can score even when he's playing on the 3rd line with AHL players. If you think Brock is still producing off of the first PP then that's fine, I look at his production from a goal scoring point of view, which quite frankly is what we've been looking at with Brock for the last 6 years. I don't recall anyone over the last 6 years saying that Brock is a great set up man and has this well rounded game. I always saw him as the trigger guy, which is what most people talked about in regards to Brock. I don't see the shot that Brock used to have. I don't see the skating either. I have watched video of Brock when he was a rookie and he is a completely different player now. He basically has had to reinvent his game, because he doesn't have that deadly one timer anymore and his skating has regressed. Most likely that is the reason why he is trying to be more of that set up man than in past years. In any event, we have a difference of opinion on Brock, and that is fine. I didn't mean to be a dick in my last post, so I apologize for that. Cheers...
  4. Why do you keep trying to defend him? He's scored 9 goals, can't skate, can't kill penalties, and is not even on our first unit PP. But he's getting paid $6.65 million. He can't be traded so his agent has to get involved to try and pump his tires to find a trade partner. It's quite strange how some need to defend this guy until the end...
  5. Miller gets primary assists, he actually sets players up to score. Kuzmenko and BO are prime examples. He also has 18 goals, so on top of setting guys up, he's also on pace for 30+ goals. 100 point players don't get $8 million, they get $10 million. Miller is re-signed to be an 80 point player, not a 100 point player. Boeser has been given every opportunity to score goals. Playing with Petey, taking Kuzmenko's spot on the PP. Rather than scoring goals, he is piling up secondary assists. Also, his goals are mostly tap ins. Meanwhile, Kuzmenko keeps piling up goals and driving play even on the 3rd line.
  6. Beauvillier has the same amount of goals this year as Brock. But he’s a 3rd liner and Brock is a top 6 forward? On what planet is a guy a top 6 forward who only has 9 goals and is supposed to be a goal scorer? And I don’t care that he has 30 points. Those secondary assists mean squat.
  7. So he is the anti Brock? Does he have better hair? Allvin thinks he’s Italian. Calls him Antonio. It was the only way Aquilini would approve the trade really.
  8. Fun fact: For those who wanted a right handed centre, Aatu Raty takes draws right handed. Yes, he switches his stick around when he takes a faceoff. Never seen that before. Quite cool actually…
  9. The Islanders have alot of older forwards, 30+. Plus they just traded their top prospect and haven't had a 1st round pick in 4 years. Not sure how long their window will be. Maybe 3-4 years. Lou is all in on this trade. If it doesn't work out then they will need to get rid of Lou and tear it all down...
  10. Looks like alot of them want Lou gone and want to rebuild. They are pissed that they traded their top prospect plus a 1st round pick and they aren't even a playoff team. I do agree with them. It's crazy for them to make this deal when they may not even make the playoffs. Desperate move by Lou IMO. Also, I didn't realize the Islanders have traded their 1st round pick 4 years in a row now. Crazy.
  11. If this actually happened I would be more than happy that the Islanders got Carlsson and we got Bedard...
  12. I just used my logic after calming down a bit. It's top 12 protected. The lottery happens before the draft. If the Islanders land the #3 pick then they would keep it...
  13. I would buy out OEL and sign Graves and Mayfield: Ryan Graves - 5x5 Scott Mayfield - 3.5x4
  14. No, he is right. The pick is top 12 protected, which means we can't use it to move up to 3. If we win the lottery the Islanders keep the pick and move up to 3...
  15. That's the first player that came to my mind. I started to panic and then thought maybe I missed a trade or something...
  16. Apparently Carlsson can play left wing. And Bedard played right wing at the WJC. So they could play together along with Miller. Miller Carlsson Bedard Kuzmenko Pettersson Mikheyev And if we need a goal late in the game... Carlsson Pettersson Bedard Oh my...
  17. Wow, so we would have two #1 picks in a row from Vancouver? That's crazy. Have we ever even had one kid from Vancouver got #1 overall? RNH? He's Italian too so would fit right in.
  18. So, the 12th pick could still get Fantilli. That would still be pretty bad if that happened. Even the 13th pick could be Carlsson. So, if the Islanders finish with the 13th pick, the Canucks could theoretically have 1 shot at Bedard and Fantilli and 2 shots at Carlsson.
