  1. So MacEwen gets one game for a phantom knee to the head that never happened, and Reaves get two games for trying to kill somebody. Makes sense. This league has turned into the joke of all sports leagues. But then again when the league hires an ex-goon to police the current goons this level of stupidity is to be expected...
  2. Two games, what a joke. But totally expected, especially when an ex-goon is running the NHL's player safety department. Parros was probably pressured into giving him the two games by Bettman, as I'm sure Parros had the $5,000 fine already lined up...
  3. He can't even beat up Lowry or Deslauriers. Good luck to Reaves against a pissed off Chara, Lucic or Gudbranson...
  4. This is sick. Whoever is responsible should be hung immediately...
  5. Have you seen his last few fights? I don't think he won any one of them. He is overrated as a fighter right now. Adam Lowry beat him up and Evander Kane stood toe to toe with him. He'll be gone in a year or two maximum once the players find out he can't fight like he used to. Every goon has their day. His reputation is the only thing keeping him in the league. Graves is actually a tough guy. He should have taken the gloves off and went at it. You never know, he could have gotten in a good shot or two and ended the shenanigans. If Reaves is allowed to continue to play Colorado should just call up their toughest goon from the AHL and let him play on the 4th line. They are so good they only need 11 forwards to win. The goon they call up should immediately drop the gloves with Reaves and see what happens.
  6. What Reaves did is criminal in nature. Putting a knee to someone's neck as they lay on the ground and making them go unconscious can be life threatening. We already know this from the George Floyd incident. That is not a hockey play, that is an attempt to injure or worse, putting another player's life on the line. And the irony is everyone in the NHL supported Reaves, Dumba and the other black players in solidarity after the Floyd incident and now Reaves literally does exactly what the cop did. So are we supposed to believe Reaves is sincere in trying to fix the problem of systemic racism, or is he just a plain thug and criminal who needs to be behind bars? Bertuzzi was charged criminally for his actions. I believe if Graves suffers any type of life changing injury Reaves should be charged as well and Graves should go after Reaves, Sutherland, the Vegas coach, the Vegas organization and the NHL. Exactly what Moore did. At the very minimum Reaves should receive the same punishment as Bertuzzi. He should be suspended indefinitely.
  7. I don’t think even Miller is good enough to play 2 positions at the same time.
  8. Ferland Pettersson Boeser Hoglander Miller Appleton Pearson Horvat Podkolzin Highmore Trenin Lockwood Love to see that lineup next year. Have MacEwen and Gadjovich on standy for some big time truculence in case we need it...
  9. Has Ferland said he's not coming back? What if he does? That kinda fills the LW position in the top 9 and allows Miller to move to 3C. Not saying he is going to come back but Crosby took over a year to get over his concussion and has played every year since, maybe Ferland can do the same thing. Who knows. Just saying he COULD still be in the mix.
  10. Professional athletes don’t play to lose so the team can get a higher draft pick. What part of that statement do you not understand?
  11. We figured out Hoglander was a top 6 player in less than 10 games. It isn’t going to take 2 years to find out what Podkolzin is all about. We’ll know by end of November next year at the latest.
  12. Jones is the same age as Horvat. There are lots of top defencemen who are still playing at a high level into their mid 30's. Roman Josi had his best year ever last year at age 29 and won the Norris Trophy. I don't think Seth Jones has even reached his peak yet.
  13. Seth Jones shares the same agent as Petey and Huggy. If you think Benning can't get some type of assurances that Jones will re-sign with Vancouver from Pat Brisson after he re-signs two of his other star clients this summer then I don't know what to tell you.
  14. Those things are all true but you don't just sign a guy because he is cheap and free. Is Larsson actually going to help this team? Is he a big upgrade on Hamonic? I don't think so. You have to give to get. Benning isn't going to trade Horvat or Boeser as he would be plugging one hole and opening up another. If Jones isn't going to re-sign in Columbus then they have no choice but to trade him. His trade value has already dropped as of today and will get worse as we get closer to next year's trade deadline. They would need to get something for him. Also, a team wouldn't be giving up major assets for him unless they feel they can re-sign him, so alot of teams may not bother to trade for him and some won't have the assets to trade for him or the cap space. I believe the Canucks do have the assets to trade for him and will have millions of dollars of cap space next summer.
  15. Backroom deals aren't privy to the public. That's why they are called backroom deals...
  16. Not before the trade of course but there would have to be some sort of an agreement that he will extend his contract with us once he is officially a Canuck. Backroom deals happen all the time.
  17. We would have to sign Jones to an extension before we ever traded assets for him...
  18. Lockwood can skate circles around Kole Lind. And he's a much more aggressive player. Lockwood would be a good fit as an energy guy on the 4th line similar to Motte and Highmore. Lind I don't think is a fit on the 4th line. He would have to be a 3rd line guy but Benning is looking for more speed in the top 9 so not sure there is a fit for Lind in a revamped lineup.
  19. Signing Podkolzin is a good thing. It was to be expected but still should be celebrated as a big win for this organization to be able to bring in a 6'2" 215 pound power forward who can make an immediate impact similar to Hoglander.
