He’s played a few games already. He just won best player in the World Hockey Championships. He’s already too good for the AHL. He needs to play in the NHL next season. Bobrovsky was never drafted. He was signed by Philly in 2010 and immediately became their starter at age 22. Silovs is already 22. Not every goalie needs to wait until they are 24-25 to be a starter in the NHL.

Yes.

So, now that we have a star in the making, can someone change the spelling of Silovs first name in the heading? @CRAZY_4_NAZZY

And it begins... Arturs Silovs is on his way to becoming the next Sergei Bobrovsky. Book it. Another goalie controversy. Last time we traded the starter and kept the backup. Before that we traded the backup and kept the starter. Another starter bites the dust... Give us your best Demko trade proposals. Here are some of mine to start it off... To Vancouver: Phillip Danault Helge Grans 2024 2nd round pick To LA: Thatcher Demko To Vancouver: Nicolas Roy Nicolas Hague To Vegas: Thatcher Demko To Vancouver: Jesperi Kotkaniemi Scott Morrow To Carolina: Thatcher Demko To Vancouver: Dawson Mercer Kevin Bahl Vitek Vanecek To New Jersey: Thatcher Demko

Yeah, it's crazy for an RFA to go play overseas when they don't even have a contract signed for 2023. If you get injured seriously you could be out of a paycheque for a year...

Wow, Wood is now at 10 and Reinbacher at 16. Wood is the guy if he is available at 11. If not I would go Reinbacher...

So, who is going to make the first Demko proposal?

Sunday morning rambles. [Proposal]

Now this is a great trade. Wake up from your morning nap, put your teeth back in and get er done JR!!! @Alflives Am I doing this right? -
He is. I have seen them standing together and he's definitely shorter than Demko. He was as tall as the guy who gave him the MVP award and that guy was nowhere near 6'4". Roman has seen him live and next to Klimovich who is 6'2", so I would say that is pretty much his real height. Just like Garland is really 5'8", not 5'10" like every website lists him. Bobrovsky, Shesterkin, Lundqvist, Fleury, Brodeur, Roy, Miller. Lots of Vezina trophy winners and all-time top goalies in the 6'2" range. These goalies all have/had great movement and mechanics. Silovs reminds me of a young Bobrovsky. Same coach so makes sense. I think Silovs is ready for the NHL right now. Bobrovsky became a starter at age 22 and won his first Vezina at age 24. Silovs is already 22. He was the tournament MVP of the World Championships. There is no way he needs to play another full year in Abby. He could start for many teams in the NHL next season. This is now going to be another goalie controversy in Vancouver IMO. No way that Silovs will be waiting 3 years to be a starter with the Canucks. I think Demko gets moved before his contract is up. Several teams are desperate for a goalie. LA, Buffalo, Ottawa, Colorado, Carolina, New Jersey. All teams that either are competing now or want to compete in the near future. Should be a high demand for Demko at $5 million for 3 more years...

Silovs looks like Bobrovsky to me. Similar size and movement. Ian Clark turned Bobrovsky into a Vezina trophy winner. I think Silovs has the talent to be the best goalie in the world as well.

Maybe we should try and get back Rodrigo Abols. Big dude. He was our 7th round pick in 2016... Also, that picture tells me that Silovs is definitely not 6'4". The guy beside him, Rodrigo Abols, is 6'4". No way they are the same height, even with the goalie skate difference. The other guy on the far left is 6'0" and is taller than Silovs. With the goalie skate difference, I would say Silovs is 6'2" maximum...

Some are worried about Miller being 30 years old. Calgary has like 7-8 guys older than him. Their best bet is to sell at next year's deadline and get picks and prospects for Tanev, Zadorov, Toffoli, Backlund. They should look at extending Lindholm and Hanifin. I'd do a Garland straight up trade for Tanev. It gives them a younger forward with term. They won't get much other than a draft pick for Tanev if they trade him at the deadline and I doubt he re-signs with them to play on their 3rd pairing.

Perry also won the Hart trophy like Matthews. The difference is he also won a cup, something Matthews may never win. As for Laine, the guy doesn't even know where the other end of the ice is. These 2 are prime examples of prima donnas who only care about their paycheck. The guy they are laughing at is actually an NHL player who can lead his team to a cup. I'd take Tkachuk over Matthews and Laine any day. Tkachuk is the best player from that 2016 draft and it's not even close really. We passed on the best player in that draft...

Reclamation Trade Targets - Dvorak or Johansen
Elias Pettersson replied to bh90's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Aren't they rebuilding? Maybe they want a younger prospect as well. Shedding the cap for 2024 would help them alot, especially if they want to weaponize their cap space. Not sure why they would want to keep Dvorak around long term. Apparently, they also want to move out Josh Anderson and Joel Edmundson... -

What about Beauvillier? Isn't he French?
