  1. He's playing on the first unit PP as an 18 year old. That's impressive. He's come a long way since October. I see him as a regular in the KHL next year and the year after he will immediately step in and play on BO's right wing. This kid will be a beauty.
  2. He's going to retire after he gets he $3 million bonus in the summer. He's not going to play the entire year for only $1 million, especially if we send him to Utica. The last year of his deal he can make up by playing in Sweden for a couple years. I think this is the plan already laid out for Loui. That's why he hasn't been sent to Utica this year.
  3. We can lock them up. Loui will retire. Sutter, Edler, Pearson, Baertschi Benn and Spooner will all be off the books. Ferland will most likely be on LTIR. That's $30 million right there. Plus we can either trade or buy out Roussel after next year as well as Beagle if need be. And the cap will go up substantially after next year with the expansion draft money. There will be money to sign our two franchise players. It's actually not even an issue if you look at Cap Friendly and do the math.
  4. The number will definitely start at $9 million but could push to $10 million...
  5. If Ottawa get the #1 and #2 overall I would do it if I was Ottawa. Mcdavid would have to ask for a trade. He might just do that. Ottawa would have a lot of young pieces. And the cap space. Edmonton is actually winning without McDavid. If they balanced their lineup they would benefit greatly. Adding Lafreniere and another top prospect could do the trick.
  6. Last 9 games: Huggy Bear - 11 points Miller - 9 points Petey - 7 points Gaudette - 6 points Pearson - 4 points BO - 3 points Brock - 2 points Virtanen - 2 points Quinn Hughes is the engine of this team. He is the 2019-2020 Canucks MVP and should win the Calder Trophy. He is better than Rasmus Dahlin.
  7. It's the Loui effect. Loui has zero points in his last 8 games. No empty netters to speak of. Loui is the engine of that line. Without him going that line is barely average really. We need Loui to step it up...
  8. I agree. I don't think I would re-sign him. He'd want over $4 million. I'd rather go with Jake and Podz with BO and roll the dice. Podkolzin is going to be a beauty. Put Jake on the left wing where he belongs and that would be a great line I think.
  9. I'd play Virtanen and Podkolzin with BO. That would be our shutdown line. Lotto Line, Nasty Line, Shutdown Line. I don't think we are going to re-sign Pearson...
  10. Hoglander Gaudette Lind That would be a pesky 3rd line...
  11. Haha, I just figured out Tampa had 2 Feet, the Foote brothers. I thought they traded Foote the defenceman (who is Cal), but didn't realize they had drafted his brother Nolan last year. That must be heartbreaking. I'm sure they wanted to play together...
  12. Wouldn't Tampa be farther ahead if they didn't make any trades at all? They should have just kept Miller. Instead they end up with Coleman who is an inferior player and had to give up Nolan Foote to get him. Asset management at its worst...
  13. That’s probably one of the worst trades in the last decade. I’m sure Tampa wishes they have Stevie Y back.
  14. Makar is not even close to me. My buddy Huggy Bear is also much better player than Makar. Trust me...
  15. The first two were definitely a concussion. The 3rd one was a neck problem. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.macleans.ca/society/rebuilding-crosbys-brain/amp/ https://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/crosby-has-soft-tissue-injury-in-neck-no-fracture-1.1157283
  16. Nils is my buddy. We never trade him. I like Russian player too. Gaudette, Juolevi and 2nd round pick, and LOUI for cap space...
  17. The salaries won’t match. They’d have to take Eriksson and another player. I’d rather give them Juolevi than Jake. Kane and Jake on different lines would be sweet.
  18. Yes this is true. Long term I mean Risto can walk in a couple years. But if we could lock him up long term then I agree with you. And we have Madden who could be a Gaudette replacement and might even be better as a 3rd line centre with his speed and 200’ game like his father.
  19. Yes he even went after and fought Chara. Kane would be the missing piece up front. I would also add Brenden Dillon to the mix. I’d have him play with Stecher as a 3rd pairing. With Kane and Dillon our truculence issue would be solved for the playoffs. We’d actually be contenders to be honest. Dillon would be a rental and Kane could play with Petey and Brock giving them protection, freeing up Miller to play full time with BO. That’s almost $11 million in cap space. So the question is what do we give up? Eriksson would have to be included in the deal to balance out the salaries. I’m not even sure where to start. Gaudette and Juolevi and a 2nd? Madden is a Gaudette replacement and Rathbone might turn out better than Juolevi.
  20. I like that idea Phil. Kane playing with me would be like spending the weekend at IKEA...
  21. So Ottawa has a chance to get the #1 AND the #2 overall in 2020. Amazing...
  22. In terms of pure talent, there is no comparison. Huggy Bear has better speed, skill and vision than Dahlin. The size factor is the biggest thing in Dahlin's favour, but honestly the way Quinn moves around the ice his size is not a concern. He can run a power play with the best of them. Dahlin is still young and could turn into a Norris trophy winner, but so could Hughes. Both will have great careers. The fact is Benning picked Hughes at #7 and he's comparable to the #1 overall pick. Same with Petey, he got him at #5 and he is without a doubt the best player in his draft.
  23. I am officially “Petey” now. Edgework will be perfect. I will be better than Gretzky now...
