I was referring to buying out Loui in 2021 when he has one year left and when we have to re-sign Petey and Hughes. His cap hit is $6 million but if we buy out the last year of his contract the cap hit is only $4 million for 2021 and $1 million for 2022. So a $2 million savings for the summer of 2021. -

Yup. We all know what the next big thing will be. How Benning manages the goalie situation. It will be a losing battle for Jim. If he signs Marky long term and trades Demko then he's ruining our future. If he lets Marky walk for free in the summer and keeps Demko it's terrible asset management. If he trades Marky at the deadline to get an asset back it will be he's throwing away our playoff hopes on a rookie goalie. He can't win... -

I think we should really make a push for Ben Hutton. Can really help out our defence for our playoff push. Then @Gaudette Celly can change his username back... -

Cap space isn't an issue with us moving forward. If people actually spent an hour or so on Cap Friendly you could figure this out on your own. Lots of ways to move contracts and get dead money off the books over the next 2 years plus Petey and Hughes aren't due until next summer when we have over $20 million coming off the books. Cap Friendly easily shows this. Coming off the books in the summer of 2021: Spooner - $1,033,333 Baertschi - $3,366,666 Teves - $700,000 Sutter - $4,375,000 Edler - $6,000,000 Benn - $2,000,000 Pearson - $3,750,000 That's $21,224,999 in cap space freed up for 2021. Not to mention the cap will probably be a few million higher after the expansion draft takes place and the new tv deal kicks in. Ferland may also be off the books as he could retire or at the very least on LTIR. Also, Eriksson could be bought out for an additional $2 million in savings if he isn't already retired. Like I said cap space will not be an issue moving forward. Next year I anticipate us bringing in some youth on cheap ELC's like Hoglander, Lind, MacEwen, Brisebois and Rafferty. -

Hoglander was highway robbery in the 2nd round. This guy is the real deal. Score goals from anywhere including the front of the net. He is a Gallagher/Marchand clone. Size will not be an issue for him as he has a strong lower torso and his puck skill is world class. BO has finally found a new linemate. Bring on the Hogs, he's going to be a beauty... -

118.3 with those wooden sticks? Highly doubt that. He was probably drinking and telling that story at the bar...

His wrist injury which required surgery was in his last year of college. That was 4 years ago. He re-injured the same wrist in his rookie year. That was 3 years ago. I highly doubt he has been playing the last 3 years in pain and getting steroid injections without the team actually noticing and taking him out. Like someone else said lots of guys tape their wrists to avoid future injuries. Also, someone said he’s had injuries to both wrists which is totally unsubstantiated. There is zero evidence he has ever injured his left wrist. Edit: There is an article from last year about his back injury and it does mention Brock getting an injection for his wrist during his back rehab. So the doctors were fully aware of that and that is normal if there is still a lingering affect of the injury. https://www.si.com/nhl/2018/07/24/brock-boeser-canucks-injury-recovery-da-beauty-league -

[Report] John Tortorella fined $20,000
Elias Pettersson replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Columbus ended up scoring when the clock was at zero so they didn’t count the goal. If the 1 second was added back the goal would have counted and they would have won the game. Instead it is still tied so they go to the shootout. The Columbus goalie gets hurt while trying to make a save so their backup has to go in and Patrick Kane is the next shooter for Chicago. He easily scores against the backup who couldn’t even warm up and they lose the game. -

Vasily Podkolzin | #92 | RW
Elias Pettersson replied to GoldenAlien's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Podkolzin will be a super weapon on the PP. Put him in front of the net with Petey and Brock on their opposite wings and Hughes on the point. Add in Rathbone and the PP becomes scary... -
I think Chara holds the record for hardest shot at 108.8. Nikita could get there with some practice.
