  1. Don’t think we will know that answer for at least 3-4 years...
  2. He has speed to burn. Not shifty like Hughes but more like Virtanen. He just flies out there. His father was a great skater as well, so his father probably taught him how to skate at a young age...
  3. Well his skating is elite so that will give him an advantage. He has the bloodlines as well as his father is a Stanley Cup champion with New Jersey and played over 12 years in the league. I see Madden as a more offensive player than Gaudette, but it’s still a bit early. Hockey Gaud looks to have a bright NHL future. And Madden looks to be one of our beast prospects right now. Hopefully they will both be in our lineup full time and contributing within the next 2 years.
  4. It’s pretty close between the two. Things could change in the next 20-30 games.
  5. It’s too early to make that assessment right now. Hughes is one year younger. The Avs have a better offensive team right now. Hughes may have the edge defensively although they both need to work on their defensive side of the game. We need a couple more years to see where both are at. If the Canucks goi for Barrie in the summer then that would make Hughes a better fit for the Canucks as Barrie is a right shot.
  6. 22 points in 16 games. Tied for top 3 in NCAA scoring. Madden is in the running for the Hobey Baker at age 20. This guy could be our best prospect right now. Complete stud who will be better than his father. Could be a top 6 winger with his speed. Could be a much better player than Gaudette, especially with his skating. What a steal in the 3rd round...
  7. Now is the perfect time to trade Loui while is value is high...
  8. I went in to the Brick today to get a couch at an amazing deal. Eric wasn't there. Now I know why...
  9. Wayne Gretzky was known as an average skater...
  10. 47. That's makes Boeser a top line NHL goal scorer, along with Petey (11) and Miller (12)...
  11. You said you were talking only about the power play. Now that I bring you the actual stats you divert and talk about Draisaitl being one of the best in the game. The fact is the Canucks are ranked 1st in the entire NHL in power play goals. Horvat, Boeser and Miller are all in the top 13 in power play goal scoring. Those are the actual stats this year. Boeser is an average player? That's nice. Can you back that up with actual stats to show he is only average?
  12. Boeser has 5 power play goals, Draisaitl has 1 and Point has 2. So what is your point exactly, pardon the pun?
  13. Last I checked we are part of a rebuild. Boeser and others are a part of it. Tampa is supposed to be a Stanley Cup contender and won the President's trophy last year. Point led them to a 4 game sweep by Columbus. They are currently not even in a playoff spot while the rebuilding Canucks are. At least we have something to look forward to as our core guys are all under 25. Tampa has a window that's already started years ago. It's not looking so good for them right now.
  14. I am best player on Canucks and I only get 7? If I learn better English and sell my Audi for Ferrari can I get 8 and we be friends?
  15. Hughes is small but actually plays a tough game. He has even gotten into fights. Yes I don't like small players who play small in the playoffs as you can't win with them. Guys like Crosby who are short but stocky and play a tough game are guys you can win with. Little Johnny and Little Point have led their teams to nowhere in the playoffs. That's because come playoff time they can't take the physical abuse needed to win. Benning knows this and that is why we have gotten bigger this year. Even Petey plays a tough game. He's harder to take off the puck now. Like I said let's see what Boeser can do in the playoffs. Hasn't been there yet. Hopefully they make it this year so we can see what happens.
  16. Why are we comparing Point to Boeser? Point is a #1 centre and Boeser is a #1 winger. Let's compare Point to Elias Pettersson. Is Point better than Petey, who has been compared to Gretzky, by Gretzky himself?
  17. Given the fact he only got one point in last years playoffs and was a -1 and Tampa was knocked out in 4 straight games this is probably true. As Point goes so does Tampa. Teams know how to stop Tampa now. Just stop little Point...
  18. Boeser has never played in the playoffs. Maybe we should wait until that happens to see his production when it really counts.
  19. One point in last years playoffs and a -5. Looks like he was a one year wonder and people have figured him out. Not hard to stop a guy in the playoffs when they are 170 pounds soaking wet. Look at little Johnny. They have him all figured out too I'd rather have a sniper like Boeser who can put up big numbers on the PP and is 203 pounds. At least he can battle in the corners and play a good physical style in the playoffs. Look at what St. Louis is doing. They just resigned Troy Brouwer. Benning signed Ferland, Myers and Benn in the summer. Benning knows what he needs come playoff time in order to win. And it's not 170 pound guys who play on the perimeter.
  20. Based on what? One good year? He put up 66 points 2 years ago in 82 games. Boeser did 56 points in 69 games. Their PPG is almost identical so far in the NHL and Point according to you is a #1 centre while Boeser is a winger who is less valuable. #1 centres in this league aren't the size of little Johnny. When Point does something of relevance in the playoffs give me a call...
  21. I like to play hockey and score lots of goals. I speak Swedish and a little English. I will bring Stanley Cup to Vancouver, I promise. My name is Elias Pettersson, but you can call me Petey...
  22. Talk to me when Point does something of relevance. Getting 90 points on a stacked team once in his career does not translate to anything long term. He’s on pace to get less points than Boeser this year. And Boeser doesn’t need to put up 90 points. He needs to get us 40+ goals, which he is on pace for. If he can play a full season and get 40+ goals then he is just as valuable to us as Point is to Tampa, if not more.
