  1. So if you are working constantly and physically and mentally exhausted that you’re struggling at your job you think the best course of action would be for your boss to bring you into work and continue to push you harder? After all it’s his job to oversee you and have you ready to work right? Not one single person on this earth says “Man I could really use some mental and physical rest from my job, I think I’ll go into the office today so my boss can train me how to rest.”
  2. Yes but like others have said the mental rest from it is just as if not more important than the physical rest. They are professional athletes so the physical strain is something they can handle but a lot of the team is 25 and younger. The mental aspect of the game is an entirely different challenge. They're just like everyone else in this world, sometimes a break from work can do wonders for your abilities to do the job when you come back. Whether that be school, studying, or your career. Mental breaks can do wonders. These guys are human too and need the same things as everyone else.
  3. I wonder if the league and GM’s already talk about this pre trade deadline and don’t announce it until after. Could make sense as to why benning traded for toffoli and didn’t seem worried at all about the cap situation. Then again like others have said I’m sure he already had a plan even without knowing this.
  4. To be fair the past 20 games or so boeser played he was over thinking it seemed and the play was dying on his stick on the PP. So right now Toffoli is better on the PP than boeser had been for a good stretch. This shows only 3 PPA and 0 PPG since beginning of December
  5. The NHL’s most mediocre goalie controversy, I’m in!
  6. I did, the number of high danger chances leafs had and big saves demko had to make were very limited, a lot of games with Marky people said they only won because he stole the game. Well tonight you can argue that demko didn’t need to steal the game whatsoever. He just didn’t stop the easy low danger shots when he needed to. That’s hardly on Green.
  7. Bummer they lost to the leafs.. I thought they played a good game, not great but there are 2 teams on the ice and you aren’t going to dominate for 60 minutes. The soft goals killed any momentum they started the game with and then again at the beginning of the third. I disagree green will be fired, so many people pointing out the passengers on this team and the bad goaltending the past few games while at the same time blaming green. Doesn’t make much sense to me. Can’t expect green to call the team out for the media to feast on, that would be a horrible way to act as a coach. Canucks did a very good job limiting the leafs chances but you NEED your goalie to make those easy saves and when they don’t it’s very hard to come back from. Ohwell I’m gonna move on and hope canucks make me forget about this one tomorrow. GCG
  8. Agreed. Too many “fans” calling him horrible and calling for him to be traded after 1 bad game. He’s not meant to be a starter we all know that, but he’s our best goalie with Marky out so rally behind him and let him grow without calling for his head.
  9. Man no one likes that Eriksson is on the top line but do you ever have anything to say that isn’t just calling for greens head? Maybe that’s why people are constantly calling you out, you don’t add anything to the conversations other than “green is bad fire green bad coach bad green”
  10. Well yeah lol without mcdavid Edmonton is $&!#, without Crosby Pittsburgh doesn’t win any cups, without Ovechkin Washington doesn’t win the cup. Without Kane Chicago probably doesn’t win any cups. Literally every team in the league is way worse when they lose the best player on their team. I think judging and saying the team sucks after 1 game without Pettersson this year is a little ridiculous. They lost 4-2, but there is no guarantee they win that game even with petey in the lineup. Just a bad game at the end of a road trip, all is good.
  11. Awesome that bailey got a call up, I hope he slots in but only if he’s ready. Schaller is the right/safe choice as he’s got a lot more NHL experience and is decent defensively. He had a bad run but maybe sitting will help him and he’ll come back with a fire under his ass. If not I’d love to see Bailey or macewan! Go Canucks go!
  12. Haha man people are really reaching now for something to complain about it.
  13. But how is replacing him with Gallant going to help? I understand that Gallant is a great coach. But as of right now canucks are ahead of Vegas in the standings. So if Gallant can’t get a superior roster like vegas to play up to their potential why do people assume he could make canucks play better than they are at the moment? The logic here just doesn’t make any sense.
  14. Canucks don’t have nearly as good of a roster as Pittsburgh and St. Louis had/have. So I don’t think these situations are comparable.
  15. Could have, I just feel like that’s an unrealistic assumption he would do that. Especially with the outstanding track record and reputation Ian Clark has as a goalie coach. But it’s entirely possible.
  16. I believe it’s actually the goalie coach that makes those calls. I understand that green has final say but they take what the goalie coach says heavily into consideration.
  17. Green is an outstanding coach when it comes to how he deploys and handles the ice time for the young players on this team. You can’t chalk the development of these players up to Jim’s drafting IMO. Green knows these players better than any of us on CDC ever could and he puts them in situations that they will excel in. Gaudette is our third line center and they want to develop him to be a center. So they can’t put him above JT miller or Bo horvat on the top two lines. And as for Jake, he was on the top line with Miller and Petey instead of boeser for the majority of the game last night. He’s earning the coaches trust and he’s being rewarded as the season goes on. I don’t think Jake is as good defensively yet as Lievo and the line of Pearson-Horvat-Lievo was always put against the best players in the league. But now he’s getting there and we’re seeing him moved up the line up. The players sure looked fired up in the third to me, they dominated the majority of that period with the shots being 14-6 and a lot of grade A scoring chances.
  18. Oh I didn’t realize you knew what he was saying to them. If he was making the same mistakes Willie did we wouldn’t be where we are right now in the standings. Fantenberg and Tyler motte would be getting top minutes instead of Hughes and Pettersson. Comparing Green to WD is absolutely ridiculous.
