Nah Hughes is amazing and deserves top unit minutes, I’d be cool with Boeser replacing Miller on the top unit though.

Unfortunately this team has no idea how to relieve pressure. It’s a big problem.

Miller and EP are hard to take off the top unit, when they’re both going they’re better than Boeser

I’m almost positive it was the first 2 games of his rookie season. But yeah I agree it’s frustrating cause I really like watching him play, I think once canucks are back home he’ll be in the lineup and getting more ice time

Boeser also sat some games in his rookie season, if Green should get credit for anything it’s how he handles the talented rookies we have. He’s been good with them.

One thing I noticed the last few games in regards to the bad defensive zone play is that the Canucks cheat to the puck carrier side of the ice, so if they get control and try to reverse around the board it’s always picked up by the opposing team. They need the LW/RW to stay top of the circle and covering the defenseman at the point. It provides an outlet pass as well as allows them to reverse the puck around the boards without it being intercepted. Cheating a 5 man unit to one side of the ice is a horrible idea. Spread out, cover your assignment, and press the puck carrier. Reversing the puck around the boards to get out of the zone only works if you have someone to pass it to. I’m not pretending to know how to coach in the NHL but it’s a consistency I’ve noticed that causes them to get trapped a lot.

I bet everything I own that the refs make a whole lot of questionable calls against Canucks. Seeing as how this is the new expansion teams home opener and all. Good marketing if the kraken win this game

Hughes is by far our best player, creates chances and controls the play every time he’s on the ice.

Pretty good second period, but can they keep it up for the last 20? Hope so

Everyone turning on Pettersson and honestly it’s warranted. Holds out missing training camp to become Canucks highest paid forward and looks worse than Highmore out there.

That’s the strategy. Get the lead then turtle and hope Demko stops everything

This has been a much better PK, they’re being aggressive and pressuring the puck carrier

The players look annoyed when green is talking to them on the bench.

It’s so strange.. what the hell is going on with our top players? The only top guy that can create anything right now is Hughes. But he can’t do it alone.
