  1. It was either that offer or Teves goes elsewhere... We also need good players in Utica to help our prospects develop even if he doesn’t make the NHL, and I’m pretty sure almost every player on their team regressed in points.
  2. I’m pretty confident Hughes will take the league by storm offensively like Boeser and Pettersson did. Might be a bit of an adventure in his own end, but better for him to make those mistakes now and learn from them in meaningless games. I also think there will be a bit of a trickle down effect and the rest of the d will play better.
  3. He’s been good at getting his shots through lately. If he keeps his play up the rest of the season and maybe even keeps improving, I could see him taking the #6 spot next season. He brings a lot of speed, energy and aggressiveness to the team, something we really lack. Let’s see if it lasts...
  4. No one said his skating is weak. He’s an elite skater with elite hands. Has a weak shot, but it’s quick and accurate. I’m just saying he’s no Patrik Kane and Kakko is putting up similar or better numbers than Barkov. Scouts also had Pettersson outside the top 5......
  5. Not just sophomore slump, but also, back, groin, wrist injuries, no off season training, and that back injury definitely hampered his skating which was already a weakness. I see him putting close to 50 next year once he regains his mobility.
  6. Not sure why but I feel like Hughes is a bit overrated. I’m hoping for Kaako, Podkolzin, Cozens, Boldy or Byram. I hope we can unload Tanev and get another first. Almost no point keeping him anymore. Injured way too often and is starting to decline. I feel like he’s going to be injured even more frequently as he’s getting older, his style of play and has had a lot of injuries already. I think Edler could mentor Hughes just fine as Hughes likes to play on his offside. Edler also had his best years playing with an offensive d-man in Ehrhoff.
  7. Anyone know how Dahlens looked? PPG so far for the Sharks farm team and some fans are saying he looks much better than he did in Utica. If that is true then I do have some concerns about what’s going on in Utica, but he had 7 points in 7 gp before the trade so...
  8. Pettersson hurt? Saw on twitter someone saw him leaving the medical room after the game yesterday. Would explain why he hasn’t looked himself lately.
  9. I always felt he wasnt going to work out for us. Got him for an aging Burrows, bffs with Petey, right when the twins are retiring, just seemed too good to be true.
  10. If Pearson and Spooner both get back to form we could have a pretty decent forward group once Virtanen returns. Still need another top 6 forward tho.
  11. Maybe Dahlen will make it and become good, then come back and sign here to play with Petey.
  12. Just a weird trade, though I think Dahlen is another Shinkaruk. Too slow and not quite skilled enough to make it in the top 6 and way too soft for the bottom 6. Not really a big loss imo. Hopefully this Karlsson guy can turn into a decent bottom 6 center, but his numbers don’t look great?
  13. Honestly Sautner plays more physical than Guddy does. Much less intimidating, but he hits more and plays much more in your face than Guddy.
  14. It’s weird, when he first arrived here his finish seemed to almost be the best part of his game. Now he misses the net almost every shot.
  15. He’s going to be awesome in the playoffs. Him, Roussel and Virtanen will be forechecking nightmares. I’m confident Virtanen will up his physical game in the playoffs, not as much fighting so he won’t have to back himself up after every big hit.
  16. Yeah he’s not putting on 20 pounds of muscles for a few years unless he does steroids. Not sure people understand how hard that is to do especially when you’re playing all season. Not only that, but that much more weight would slow him down a ton. He has some skill, he’s not just a plug. He’ll fill out in the next couple of years. I think 220 is more than enough for his style of play.
  17. Didn’t know his hands were that good. Him and Petey on a line one day might break too many ankles.
  18. Quinn will be much harder to knock off his skates than Pettersson. With the kind of skating he has he must have some very strong legs and a good center of gravity. They also weigh similar and Pettersson has like 4 inches on him.
  19. I don’t see him being in the league too much longer. Seems his concussions have really had an affect on him and he just can’t stay healthy. I hope I’m wrong but I think one more serious injury and he might call it quits. More important things than hockey.
  20. He’s still young, if he can put it together he can easily be a 60 point forward in his prime. Just has to keep his effort levels up. Him scoring a goal last game will be huge for his confidence. I think we see one of his best games tonight.
  21. He looked like a future star after that tourney. Shows how little the world jrs really mean. Pettersson and Boeser looked very average there and took the NHL by storm.
