  1. It’s like Bailey had to think twice there before using the body. It actually seems like they’re told not to hit.
  2. That’s one reason I didn’t want him captain. Sure he’ll fight once in a blue moon, but he’s pretty soft for his size. He’s 215 pounds and literally never throws a decent hit or finishes his check. If he’s not going to finish his checks why would the rest of the team. Virtanen got called out twice now for throwing big hits by Sedin and Horvat. No wonder he doesn’t throw them anymore.
  3. Remember when Boeser and Matthews used to go head to head every time we played... Or when Petey seemed to be on Matthews level. Now they can barely get a shot.
  4. “Way too easy to walk in” Just like i said before the game.. Can we get some real coaches?
  5. I want Bailey to put it together so bad. His speed with his size is insane and he’s got decent hands and shot as well.
  6. Just put Miller as 3c so we can roll 4 lines..... Hoglander-Pettersson-Boeser Pearson-Horvat-Sutter Motte-Miller-Virtanen Roussell-Beagle-MacEwan Hughes-Schmidt Edler-Benn/Chatfield Juolevi-Myers Virtanen plays his best when he’s on a line with Miller cause Miller is the only one who will give him an earful on the bench and keep him engaged. Again d pairings are the same, clearly not working. Myers played much better with Juolevi. I don’t know why our coaching has such a problem with choosing the right line up and playing players to their strengths. Like at the start of the season when Boeser was sniping shots left and right and they put him in front of the net on the pp instead of taking advantage of his deadly shot thats been missing since his rookie season....seriously? We have Hughes one of the best skaters and stick handlers in the league and we repeatedly use the drop pass every single time instead of using his abilities to gain the line once in a while and keep the pk guessing. Anyone remember that Makar goal where he faked a drop and skated in and sniped? Or how about atleast dropping the puck back to Hughes so he’s the one who gains the line, why is he the one dropping it off when the other guys constantly fumble the puck or can’t gain the zone? Or everyone saying Benns been so much better. Because he’s playing the right side! Same side he played in Montreal when he was solid.... And what is with our players and backing up letting the opposing team walk right into our zone constantly? Do they not work on gap control? Are they told not to hit? I miss the days of Bieksa, Hamhuis, Ballard, even Edler nailing guys when they tried to enter the zone.
  7. What happened to his “generational skating ability”
  8. Lol imagine? What is Gaudette going to do? He can’t defend to save his life and sure he has energy but he just bounces off of guys.
  9. That’s the system, to collapse and let shots from the outside. That’s why we’re always outshot. The thing that bugs me the most is guys backing up at our blue line and letting guys walk right in our zone constantly.
  10. Hockey was so much better during the WCE era. The rivalries and battles. Bert vs Jackman, Phaneuf, etc. The game is so soft now. Sure it’s faster and more skilled but doesn’t make it more entertaining. Players don’t even try half the time during the regular season.
  11. I’m sure players are pissed with Benning, but, anyone else think players are maybe pissed at Eriksson too for not retiring and costing Toffoli a roster spot knowing he’s not really wanted and probably not going to be playing anyways.
  12. It’s crazy, tons of gritty guys come here and forget how to throw a hit Virtanen Roussell Prust Guddy Schaller Benn Craziest one to me is Virtanen. He was one of the best hitters and reverse hitters I’ve seen. He was even destroying grown men in the AHL when he came up for the playoffs his first season and was still a teen. Even levels McDavid in his first pre season. Then he gets beat up by Farham or w.e and his physical game hasn’t been seen since. I’m not sure if he’s just scared to answer the bell after a big hit or if he’s worried about injuring his shoulder again, makes no sense.
  13. I swear we’re the only team in the league who just let’s other teams walk in our zone. Why do our players continue to back up and not close the gap? And our collapsing system doesn’t work very well when we don’t have elite goaltending. This team is embarrassing right now.
  14. If Miller’s playing like this because he’s butthurt about Marky and Toffoli leaving I hope he is traded asap. He’s not even trying.
  15. I’m not sure what people see in Gaudette. He’s not good enough at any part of the game besides scoring once in a while. Kind of hoping we get blown out at this point. Our coaching just isnt very good and they’re way too slow at adapting. Someone needs to go.
  16. It’s crazy to me how bad Schmidt is here compared to when he was in Vegas and even Washington. I really think Baumer needs to be replaced.
  17. His one shift when he got nailed by Romanov and then finally woke up and threw a few huge hits is how he needs to play all the time. He was a different player after that. I think Green should tell Jake to shadow one of the opposing teams stars like he did with Malkin that one game and had one of his best games ever. It would keep him engaged and he has the speed and power to keep up with anyone in the league.
  18. He did it last year too, but this season is on a different level. I’ve seen a couple of times he’s lost the puck and just totally gives up and watches the guy skate away and then slowly skates to the bench pouting. I don’t think I’ve ever see a player pout more than Miller when things don’t go his way. Great player when he’s on his game but he’s costing us with that crap.
  19. Could always go Edler-Hughes like the old Edler-Ehrhoff pairing that worked so well. Hughes can play both sides and I see Hughes being even more dynamic in the offensive zone on the right side. He’s too good of a skater, passer and puck handler for it to affect him much in the d-zone imo. Edler also brings that physical element to the pairing that Tanev didn’t have. Edler-Hughes Schmidt-Myers Juolevi-Benn Rafferty Benn plays much better on the right side. I know Green is obsessed with having lefties on the left side and vice versa, but Benn and Virtanen should be playing their off sides imo. That gives every pairing a puck mover and that 2nd pairing could be very good. So many options, I really think Juolevi pushes for top 4 by the end of the season, he’s going to surprise people.
  20. Surprised more people aren’t stoked on this. Even HF boards is going crazy and saying steal of the last few years. This guys a #2 d-man under contract for the next 5 years making under 6 mill for a third....... Adding him and Juolevi is going to help our transition game huge. We’re already better than last year with this trade imo.
  21. Vegas bench chirping Virtanen at the end of the game is pretty funny. “We’ve only played in &^@#ing four games now, way to get involved bud!” When Virtanen and Cousins were getting into it. Drance tweeted it. I hope it wakes him up and we see the wrecking ball WHL Virtanen tomorrow.
  22. More hits in that one shift than our team throws the whole game. I get physical play isn’t our style, but it’s ridiculous how little our team finishes their hits. Vegas and St Lous, etc, finishes every single check. Ive noticed when Bo starts throwing his weight around the team usually follows. He rarely ever does though, plays pretty soft for how big and solid he is.
