Marky... I started watching our games last season and he was a beast with the lack of defense in front of him. Especially I like his way of mount his body together as a giant tarantella to set him up for some easy pray. He does things I rarely see a goali do.

[PGT] Boston Bruins at Vancouver Canucks | Feb. 22, 2020

Playing in bottom six isn't his style offensively. He got really good at the defensive side of his play. Now, when Green is pushing for play off and got a few key players injuried, Loui has showed that he can play top 6. He was directly involved in 3 goals against the Bruins. First, he took away Chara so Gaudette didn't have to bother with him, second he steered the puck(hence the assist)and on the rebound Pearson got a goal and then with some great puckhandling and a guy on his back Loui got a goal. If it was Petey or Boeser you probably would have said something like Wow but know it's Loui and it's meeh... Horvats found his game due to Loui because Horvat doesn't have to bother whar Mac or someone not so good defensively does beside him. And Loui seems to slowly regain some offensive confidence he lost as a member of bottom six. -

Since you talked about me so... Horvat has talked about how Loui let Horvat play his game. Wich other players do Horvat grade like that on the roster? https://thecanuckway.com/2020/01/06/canucks-loui-eriksson-positive-addition-second-line/ -

Maybe fans here understands why he probably gets a lot in the new contract. 6 mill is team and cap friendly with this quality in goal.

Psychology is the key. Benning and Green seems to lack that key element of hockey. Alf is on to one part of the psychology equation. Leadership is tough nowadays. You have to know a lot about your players and read every signal they send. -

Not that part. The issue is that Benning threw Dahlen under a bus, truck, tank... Wich led to fans hating. Am I the only one that have high demands on how a GM behave? -

It's not Dahlens ability to be on NHL I'm talking about. It's only how Benning handled the situation. -

Dahlen, absolutely... Loui is only a minor incident. Loui did the most by himself not understanding what a journalist would do with it. But if you want an explenation of Lindens behaviour you got in plain sight. I find it fascinating that the words high character is mentioned so often here regarding players but it seems the GM is excempt from high character. -

It probably is more amazing that Inge was the one who scouted Peter Forsberg then. -

Not quite my issues when a young man has to quit the net for a whil. His whole family got hurt in that process. I had set the alarm but I fell asleep again. So I missed it. It started around 3 am here. -

If people here want high charactere players the top also should be high charactere. No free pass for a GM in my eyes, sorry... The bad situation Benning put Dahlen in isn't pretty. If you think it's good to put a young player in focus of fan rage I am very surprised. I tvought you as a mom would understand how really bad Benning were there by starting a rhumour to put the blame on Dahlen. Regarding Inge, they are relatively close because Inge spoke with Benning at the Petey draft and concratulated him to get the best in that draft. Then were Inge the guy Benning callen in person to check if the Canucks should try to get Dahlen. This isn't two strangers. It's Benning neglecting Inge in favour of a scout higher in rank. Not exactly Sedinery. -

Ok I'll try to explain. You might have seen me defending both Dahlen and Loui against fans that reacted upon quotes from Benning. Benning does what I call save face. Instead of being a diplomat Benning tries to put the blame in different situations on a person that have a problem defending themselves. In Dahlens case, Benning had fans wanting to see Petey with Dahlen and Benning steer away from criticism when talking about young players wanting to play in NHL. Note that Benning didn't say Dahlens name. Benning just talked about young players. With Eriksson Benning with ease could have blamed journalists that take quotes and run with those. Once again, when he isn't able to talk to Loui on Louis vacation with his family, Benning save face by put the blame on Loui because Loui didn't answer. And fans get madder at Loui. Why is a leader behaving like this? Then we have Bennings reluctance to talk about Inge Hammarströms role in scouting Petey. Inge played for Timrå and probably heard about Petey from day one through his own connections within the club. Have you heard Benning say anything positive about Inge? If you take that behaviour and put it in situations where Benning talking with Aquilini it can be very much Benning and very less Linden. That behaviour is something a man like Näslund detests and he played together with Linden. Think about Näslund and how he cares about his family and his old club in Sweden, Modo, and you should know what he thinks about non honest people. I don't like it and I see right though the dirtbags doing it. -

Think again... A man that tries to save face and blame others in different situations behave like that all the time. That kind of people is more intrigued by manipulation. Manipulation can really get a grudge going. -

If Linden is a straight forward, honest man I bet he was outfoxed by Benning. I noticed three different issues with swedes that Benning tried to either save face or rather give credit to someone he has close to him. So how does he treat the nonswedes? Benning has a few steps left before he is a true leader. Benning is a damn good scout with a lot of connections, but not the leader he has to be. -
Show me highlight from those 8+ games. It will be interesting to see how the team played in front of him. I heard simillar things about Marky last season and he was great then also. People tend to just see the scoresheet and not the whole picture.

Great post I see Petey get frustrated and lash his stick against someone done something. He should have been around the twins. They could have taught him to not waste energy on such behaviour. Take it like a man and score as revenge.
