I have said a lot that if Petey was the major player on PP he would easy get 10-20 points more each season he, Miller and Hughes played together on the PP. Petey knows that and that is one of the reasons Petey excelled 5v5 last season. So history is a bit skewed in statistics.

Petey didn’t have a breakout year. He just changed his game. Look out for next year we might see a real breakout year.

He got Växjö their gold medal in SHL. Do you remember how many years Petey had played in NHL when he played his only play off? That should give you the answer how he would do today when he’s matured. I hardly believe Matthews would have accepted to play second fiddle on the PP. But if you say so I believe it.

Petey has pumped the tires of almost every Canuck player and got less points doing so. Change place with Miller and Petey and he would have got a lot more points each season Hughes Miller and Petey played together. And, Petey has been close to a PPG player the whole time. Compare even strength points show that Petey had 68 and Matthews 57 The one thing Petey has against him is size. Everything else is above Matthews. One of the more important aspects are how they play in playoff and Petey is a monster there. If he got a remote chance of winnig he will give everything he can. Has Matthews done that?

A cap dump as I understand it is a player that is too expensive cap wise and a team try to unload that cap. Horvat was almost two mill to expensive while Beau has an appropriate cap hit. Then we can argue that Podz is a cheaper option. But we are not there yet. Let’s see how they handle playoffs for us first. If Beau raise his game during playoffs and par example Hogz, Podz, Garland or Boeser doesn’t than Beau is a better steal than even Alf say.

Well, he is quick, young and deliver in playoff. I’m not sure you can call that a cap dump. So wich players are younger and better? Younger yes, but better? And then we have older players and here I want to know wich ones process the game as fast as Beauvillier. Beauvillier is a top 9 for us and can be a game changer if Tocchet has to blend the lines. But, we have too many wingers and it will be fun to see who stays and not. Horvat took his chance and run with it so I really think the cap dump was Horvat.

The only ones talking about Beau as a cap dump was those who disliked the new management. Räty, Beau and Hronek is players wanted and needed.

Wasn’t Benning aiming for OEL and the deal didn’t finalise. But by then Benning had lost Tanev and Toffoli due to lack of communications.

Sorry, you meant this season with Brisebois on the left side. I thought of two years forward when Willander and DPetey is on the team and the OEL penalty is worst. Sousy Karlsson Hughes Hronek DPetey. Willander is there any team in NHL with a better RHD side than that?

If Lekkerimäki is on with Petey 1+2 and Willander you can add wich swede you want. Ok, Hogz take the fifth spot.

In the future I see a PP line where Willander, Räty and Lekkerimäki have some fun. Just those three has secured the coming eight years of Peteys future contract. If Hughes want to go we can fix it anyway. And we got four years of getting good players.

With us he got Hughes, Petey, Miller abd Kuz that will make his life easier and the sum of it all will be record breaking points for all the top players. An easier life also means he can play longer. As Hughes and Hronek munch up a lot of minutes EK can come in and have fun playing less minutes.

Myers, Garland and every 2024 draft pick for EK and get the final push to be a contender for Hughes four years. Who needs any pivks next year if so.

I thought he struggled in the fights. He tried and tried but it wasn’t enough. Soucy seems to be very good defensively. So Tocchet can use him if we start to leak.
