  1. The last time he went off the board he got us Petey. Just sayin
  2. Benning didn’t tip his hand. Vegas caught wind that we didn’t want Glass so they pulled out. Benning didn’t tell them dude, don’t make up lies to support your narratives.
  3. Gretz turned those players into those players. If you were around, not sure if you were, hell I could have played with him and scored 50. The guy literally gave players empty nets to shoot at with his passing. Remember BJ Mcdonald? Lol look up his stats of when he played a Wayne vs when our stupid management traded for him thinking he had real talent lol! Wayne bounced the puck of his own players sticks into the net - it really was more of that than “all of them being greats”
  4. I’m agreeing with you, I’m all gretz all day as the best ever.
  5. Especially given our lack of high end defensive depth, he’s even more important to us. If he ends up anchoring the first or second pair for his career which he “should”, then he was the right pick
  6. Wayne made everyone around him better. Mario was a better pure scorer and one on one player, pure hockey sense, ability to see the ice. No chance. Hell, Mario only came “close” to breaking Wayne’s goal scoring record of 92 goals in a season (he may have if he hadn’t of been hurt), but in reality, Mario couldn’t even match that or come close again. Even on goalscoring ability (which I’d reluctantly give Mario the. Edge) the stats don’t support it, Wayne scored 92, 87, 73, and 71 as his best. Mario broke 70 only twice. And let’s not forget the pure physical gifts and advantages Mario had over Wayne (and the entire league given his size).
  7. Gardner is junk in his own end man. He solves nothing. He just causes more pucks in our own net
  8. Yep, Laughs sure look cup worthy! Lol!!! Bunch of poofters with no Defense. Awww and Tanev wasn’t worth it hey Duumbass!? Losing 6-1 to Tampa! Anderson hooked after the first and four goals.

Leafs were totally out matched.  The Leafs don’t have Hedman, or anyone even close to him.  Plus, too many of the Leaf’s players are el soft shell burritos, or flying flamingos.

  9. Is Quinn Hughes a Bobby Dazzler?    :bigblush:

      A dangling bauble.

      Tortorella's Rant

Quaint coloquial term from northern England pertaining to someone very special indeed, either through good looks or by simply wearing something fancy. Your daughter on her birthday might be termed a bobby dazzler, maybe even your missus on a night out if she scrubs up well enough.

"My, that Cathy bird's a reet bobby dazzler!"

      "Dangling Bauble"

Quaint colloquial term from Surrey, BC pertaining to someone who has big dangling baubles.

"My, that dog has some serious dangling baubles!"

  10. Oh look! The Stanky Oil down 2-0 already to the laughs! Oilers are just a massive ball of sweaty stanky ass

Hey Oilers are still in the playoff hunt - so says all the Edmonton Sports media

  11. I think you're over simplifying it bro. Saying a top 2 pick means nothing. Look at the oilers. Seguin didn't do anything for their cup run. And pretty much every one else is a superstar. Its not about top 1 or 2 its about having a game breaker. And we arguably got the best player in the draft at number 5 in Petey so we have one. Now Quinn has to show he can be another steal....a 'team' wins a cup'.
  12. That would be pretty Amazing if they Got first and let Quinn announce it hey?
  13. Lol this aint NHL 19 bro. Horvat is one of the best young 2 way centers in the league. You don't trade him PLUS a first rounder for potential. Kakko isn't Ovie man. If we're lucky enough to land hughes, you move him to the wing. He's too small to play center in the NHL anyways. Petey/boeser, Bo/Hughes, Gaudette/ Jake - three great pairings to carry us to a cup
  14. Bo won't go anywhere, if we are lucky enough to get Hughes, he can be moved to the wing, where, given his size, he's likely to play anyways in the NHL. As for Madden, same thing. We need elite, fast, wingers, and you can never have enough centers. Projecting Guadette, Madden, or even Hughes to be better than Bo at this stage is a bit silly. Bo is one of the best young 2c's in the league and has just gotten better and better every year
  15. Exactly but its still idiotic to say. Is he going to be magically ready in three weeks when they can call him up? Atkins will look even worse now because of that stuff
  16. LOL McJesus just missed an empty net (goalie pulled) from the hashmarks with no one harassing him..

I was watching that on my iPad.  Dahlin gives the puck to McDavid, and basically gives up, allowing Connor to skate in on the empty net.  Why did Connor not just skate the puck right up to the net?  Dahlin has given up!

Does McD's career swerve into Patrik Stefan trajectory?! Stay tuned...

  17. Just saw Guddy get walked right around and high quality scoring chance occurs lol. He did throw a hard hit on Montour after but the guy who walked him on Buffalo wasn't even that fast...Glad he's gone

He did sink a birdie on the 18th though, so he’s the leader in the clubhouse at -28.

Maybe we need a Green Jacket thread?

i wish him well. i hope he helps them. he is a good guy that lacks the speed for today’s game. that’s all.

  18. Really no different than a NHL team limiting a new signee to 9 games at the end of the season to ensure they are not expansion eligible.
  19. I wouldn’t put him up there with Weber and Josi but Vlasic and Bieksa would be a great win
  20. I wish I could understand what the Isles fans are chanting, they are ruthless. They have a major hate on for Tavares and the building is electric. It would be amazing to see the Leafs and Isles meet it the playoffs

Man, all we do is boo when Kesler touches the puck.

There's some serious issues with fans in New York.

Would have thought that hanging in there for almost 10 years with a sad franchise would have meant at least a bit of appreciation.  Love the passion of NY fans though.

  21. Remember when Oilers fans were saying they would win a cup before us and would be facing A powerhouse matchup of Oilers v Leafs in a cup final? Lol! :frantic:

Man ,do I love seeing the Oilers get embarrassed. All those 1OA picks and top 5 picks and to absolutely stink up the rinks time and time again,I LOVE IT.

New coach and all and they continue to "SUCK".

    4. Phil_314

Just hope Puljajarvi isn't too far gone to be salvaged... the rest of the team I could really care less (Connor and Leon and Nuge will keep doing their thing, the rest of the replacement level guys will sink or swim as they can, almost like LeBron and his Cleveland Cavalier motley crew from seasons past)

  22. As much as many people wanted more picks this year, given the timeline of team development, I think it’s next year that we may see a jump in picks. If we sign a player like Myers, and Hughes and Juolevi show they are ready (and with guys guy Sautner and Brisbois showing they are almost ready to be full timers as well), add in a potential Tryamkin return and we have way too many dmen. Tanev will be a UFA after next year, pray he stays healthy and plays well and we should get the first rounder we’ve been wanting. Sutter is redundant, he will be moved as Gaudette cements himself as our 3c. Again a “potential” first depending on desperation of other contenders. At worst a second and prospect. Then you have a bunch of depth players that could be moved for mid to late picks - Granlund, Goldy if he’s still not consistent, Maybe Schaller finds his game enough to be moved for a late pick, etc etc. The only issue is, if we are in the playoffs or close JB seems to love keeping the vets around. Next year is the exact time to manage declining assets as our young guys “should” be showing they are ready. In my view, if we’re in playoff contention, it’s better to let the young guys win or lose at that point and learn, than think you need the “vets for a run”. You need vets when you’re close, not when you’re just “learning” in the playoffs. There’s a point where JB is going to have to take the training wheels off and that time is next year imho. I hope to see JB be smart with at least Tanev and Sutter next deadline. He’s got to learn from his mistakes and sell high.
