From my limited viewing during World Cup and WJC play Jasek stood out. Solid d-side play. Some offensive ability. Between Sutter and Beagle I am inclined to let Sutter go. Beagle is a fitness speciman and Sutter has an injury history now even tho he is younger.
-
At what point does keeping Sutter and Roussel become a negative to future development of their younger replacements? Both these players have played a major role in mentoring but keeping them longer takes TOI away from younger alternatives. The playoffs this year exposed the younger core and potential roster players to CUP play. Time now to accelerate development by giving them more TOI, larger roles.

Sorry but I meant to say Vitamin D.

My biggest issue is not buying a stock but knowing when to sell. I use a few indicators and do quarterly reviews. Allocation is a big thing for me it is why I bought AMZN, MSFT, GOOGL, JNJ, CVS and RTX. I have moved 25% of the portfolio into USD to gain access to sectors I cannot get in Canada. My gold play is in anticipation of inflation as a result of government printing money. -
The Bradykinin hypothesis developed by the Summit super computer at Oak Ridge National Lab is interesting. Worth a Google. They are suggesting Covid is a vascular rather than a respiratory disease. Take your Vitamin B.

I am in on CVS as well. I thought it had held up well during this volatility. I started buying almost a year ago at 66.70 and have worked my ACB down below $66. They are working their debt down and have not increased their div since the Aetna takeover. I love their business plan, especially the walk in clinics. -

It was diversification but I did want some aerospace exposure as well. Civil aviation is about half their business which has dragged them down. As far as the military spending goes they have ongoing maintenance contracts and foreign sales. It doesn't seem to make much dif which party is in power in the USA. Remember it was the Dems who wanted to send troops to Syria. The fundamentals for RTX weren't exceptional but their forecasted EPS growth for next year was almost 20%. I am in at $64 and will wait. -

Or not, because if SoftBank "forgot" to take profits and has been piling on gamma, it is now entirely at the dealers' mercy as we first explained yesterday, which incidentally explains today's continued plunge in tech names as traders brace for the unwind of all that gamma." https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/one-day-after-zero-hedge-ft-unmasks-softbank-call-buying-nasdaq-whale Masayoshi Son doesn't seem like a very smart person. I mean I realize he started Softbank and turned it into a banking behemoth but holy crap he really seems to have lost his touch. I mean his 'investment' in We Work and Wire Card. Talk about incinerating cash. No to mention his bizarre take over of Sprint and Arm Holdings. Thanks for all your work. IMHO between forced buying and selling by mutual funds, pensions and ETF's there should be opportunity for little guys to get some good prices. Many of these buyers/sellers are doing so by allocation and not fundamentals. -

[Speculation] Canucks looking to move Jake Virtanen
Boudrias replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
If it is a question of creating CAP space then I prefer Roussel being traded over Jake. This is all about 2 years out and CUP contention. I even keep Gaudette over Sutter. Big Mac will be in the line up next year but he is not the sole answer to replacing Virtanen. IMHO the Canucks need size and will need both these players. MacEwan has decent speed but not Jake speed. If RFA costs to much for Jake then so be it but I trust Benning's decisions. -

I see Buffet sold a big chuck of his Wells Fargo. I don't buy American banks as I prefer the dividend tax credit with RY & TD. I have LTD's but will add some higher growth plays. Currently hold 32 stocks with 7 being gold. Only 2 of these, CEF and FNV are LTH's. Almost all my gains (excluding gold) are in the USA side with AMZN, GOOGL and MSFT way ahead. The big question will be what to do as the USA election gets closer. -
I found Burkie's comments about the trend to platooning NHL goaltending. Teams don't want the money tied up in a #1 tender with the risk of duration and injury. Markstrom does have an injury history. This is particularly important as the team is entering their serious CUP contention period in 2 seasons. If Markstrom is willing to give a little CAP in exchange for some duration it might work. Benning has to tighten down the NTC and NMC. Players will want to come to Van over the next 3-4 years.

Vegas is trying to pick their spots and are missing. Reality is they hit 3 posts and missed mega opportunity on lose pucks infront of Demko. Bad bounces are haunting them. Van scores the 1st goal and watch out. There are any number of forwards on the canucks who could walk away with the game. Demko kinda reminds me of Dryden's first CUP run when he squirreled out the Bruins. Canucks score early and Vegas could be beaten mentally. To the final Four. Go Canucks!!!!

Market meltdowns are such a cleansing experience. Whether it happens now or post Nov 3rd it will happen. The USA election will impact markets more than Covid over the next 2 months. I will stand by my gold play and even add if they fall enough. -
With playoff expectations elevated IMO fans are forgetting about Jake's regular season. If the club had not made playoffs the end of season retrospective would have given Jake a solid check mark. Yes his production tappered off but he could have hit 50 points this season. Whether he ends up being a piece of a CUP contender in 2 years or not Jake has increased his value as his game improved. IMHO he still has top 6 potential, if not with Vancouver, then another team.

Will add to my CVS at $60.50. Love their business plan. -
I am surprised they have him listed at 186 pounds. Hughes at 170.

I haven't seen a place for Stecher on the Canucks moving forward. That said he has played some great hockey in this CUP run. He can be ran over but his smarts stand out a lot. Played a great game #5. The faster the game the better he is.
-
Totally agree. You cannot watch an on slot like that and not appreciate the Vegas team. Demko didn't see many of the shots he stopped which says something about his positioning but also about Vegas luck. Would love a Game #7. Credit the Canucks for being able to clear their zone a tad better in the 3rd. Edler is a monster out there and Meyers is getting back up to speed. Mott has another wow game. Win or lose EP40 is adding to the legend. Amazing hockey player and a real leader. What he will do over his career will be fun to watch.

If nothing else Trump has shown how easy it is to manipulate public opinion. The left wing press has been exposed time and again. It is dangerous because Trump supporters now won’t even consider other opinions. -

Got my RTX yesterday at my price. Markets are so volatile that the waiting game is worthwhile. Currently waiting on CVS. -

The question becomes whether this re-rating of PE's continues to move up? So far the growth stocks are benefiting the most. My value stocks have not so much. The 10 year bond creeped up last week which hurt gold and value. While I think governments will have more trouble funding themselves they have played the ponsi scheme of simply creating more money to get by. At what point to the people say you have no clothes? This is why I look for traditional valuations. RTX fit that but with the added benefit of EPS growth in '21. -
The game was lost in the 1st when Van didn't score. It looked like Benn was pinching on the 2nd Vegas goal and couldn't get back on Tuch. Down 2 goals and the game changes. I doubt Green changes the lineup especially if MacKewan can't go. Playing Graovac or Bailey or Rafferty would be a leap and a bit of a slap on the existing roster, especially Gaudette. If it were to happen it would be Roussel and Benn sitting. Neither are in the long term plans IMHO. I just don't think it will happen. Green has been able to rejuvenate the boys throughout the playoffs so lets hope for that.
