Any talk of trading Boeser is not realistic unless Toffoli is resigned. Trading him is about what comes back. That player has to be a top 4 d-man with potential of being a top pairing. I love Boeser's shot but his speed could be better. Toffoli provides more experience and a age that is not out of line with CUP contention in a couple of years. The d-core has to have further help whether that can happen without a trade only Jim knows.

I bought FVI because I wanted some silver in the port. Working out very nicely at +46% in less than a month. Allocation to gold and silver now over 20% in the port. Will likely add up to a 30% allocation. I have very few buy triggers until stocks retreat to the March lows. -

Has anyone heard whether PM JT has written off $3.5 billion loan to GMC? This dates back to the 2008 crisis and the due date was 2018. Hope this isn't true as GM has been paying dividends for some time. -

Contrary to what many people think the government will not be able to continue their aid indefinitely. At some point over extended people will have to sell or the bank will do it for them. I got stopped out of some stock this week and am reviewing new limits. When I hit a limit my standard is to sell off 1/3. I will only hold onto stocks with steady EPS, generating CF + FCF, limited debt and solid management. Unfortunately I am tied up in some MIC's which management has frozen redemptions for the forseeable future. -
Connauton never dominated the AHL like Rafferty did this season.

Q3 is very realistic. My issue with REITs is figuring out the actual return as the payouts are often very convoluted with return of capital, dividends, and after some beers I cannot remember the rest. I tend to hold these in my TFSA. Currently I have BPY and GRT. BPY is pretty interesting as they are heavy into the USA retail properties. Bruce Flatt is pretty smart CEO. Like RIO-CAN he intends to repurpose some of these retail sites into multi use. Actually C-19 might hasten the re-zoning to make that possible. Ya, everyone might work from home in the future but prime location is prime location. -

I am raisin cash and will step away until September. There should be a clearer market outlook by then. Markets are overvalued. Might look at some real estate. -

That famous saying "crystalize your gains". I don't remember the $100K but I do remember the small business $500,000 exemption. -

Outrageous! There should be a special tax for gains like that. -
On a different Covid tangent. How many NHL players will retire rather than expose themselves and their families to this flu? i can easily see Ericksson retiring. There could be many more, especially those who have had million $ contracts for years. With the anticipated CAP reduction I can also see buyouts returning.

Qtrade doesn't charge for transfers. Chequing account to brokerage account is seamless. $6.95 a trade but someone else mentioned thy were at $4.95. -
We all might be surprised to see what vets decide to retire rather than face the risk of C-19 infection. When Ericksson sits down with his family the thought has to cross his mind that he has done well enough and lets retire. Other big name contract players could come to the same conclusion.

4.99! That will be a point of discussion, thanks. I have had transfers go that fast but more often it is 2 days. -

I use Qtrade at 6.99 per trade. I looked at Questrade and it has some good capabilities. Stayed with Qtrade as i don't want to use leverage or hedging. When I transfer money into the account it usually take 2-3 days before I can actually use it. -

Canada has no electoral college so Ontario and Quebec elect the federal government. Their governments answer to those who elected them and provinces that don't suffer the consequences. The Canadian Senate offers no protection. IMHO that is why AB will leave. The CPC won the popular vote last out but I don't see a groundswell for proportional rep. My view of the electoral college is that it does protect smaller states to a limited degree. Ultimately the more populated states have greater wealth and political power in Congress and they use it. I have more faith in the Founding Fathers than I do in today's politicians. Ethics is not high on the job qualification app. -

I should have known. The 2011 game went into OT and SN didn't carry it to conclusion. I was enjoying every shift. Burrows and Kesler were having such a good game. They should have replayed some of the 2011 games prior to the Sedin night. -
Boeser would probably get a 2D player where Virtanen likely would not at this time. Jake has evolved tremendously in the past 2 seasons. Covert some of those posts into goals and he likely hits 25 goals. He will likely be a 50 - 55 ppg player next year.

Roussel is a class act no matter what the refs think. That said I don't see him on the team in 3 years. His TOI will go to a younger player.
-
When you talk those kind of numbers on a 3 year deal it makes sense. I don't know if Stecher could get that kind of term. The cost is low enough that he could be dealt to another team come TDL. Tanev would have the same TDL appeal but his cost would likely be higher. It will be a tough contract for Tanev to nail down. Value + term for a 30 year old who plays a style that leads to injury. He has to compete against younger and cheaper alternatives. Does he take a discount to have one more crack at a CUP with a Canuck jersey? Even if he did I would still question it. IMO it isn't about how he plays next year it is about 3 years out. Probably wiser to invest the CAP and TOI in a younger player who will be hitting his prime.
