  1. If you are at zero you are ahead of the game!
  2. Seriously nice job! Steady voice of reason and info. Thanks.
  3. I am not denying the Covid 19 threat if that is what you are thinking. Maybe I am not being clear. Virus is real and a serious threat. It has been a long tough day and I am done with this. I simply want Trump dealt with like any politician who doesn’t speak the truth.
  4. Exactly! Media is largely a joke. Their business plans are largely failing just like Trump said. CNN is absolutely fake news. This failure gives Trump and many other politicians a cred with people who have tuned them out. Trump could have been exposed like many others. School yard tactics used by media and the Dems are mostly laughable. No basis of truth in any of this.
  5. What a laugh. Sooner or later it would be Trump’s fault. What next if this doesn’t stick?
  6. Tell me one GOP candidate or POTUS who came close to being acceptable to the Democrats over the past +50 years? Both Bushes were to stupid, Reagan was to old and senile, Dickie was untrustworthy. Eisenhower was a war hero and had general acceptance.
  7. What % of your pump price is the cost of crude? How much is distribution? How much is profit margin? How much is the government take? How much do the retailers make? Many components in a complex industry. People try to simplify it by focussing on crude cost.
  8. Stunningly bad. My best laid plans are going up in smoke.
  9. If it was 5 years ago I might agree with you. Unfortunately my faith in truth of much I see in print media is not there anymore. I think most material has a political agenda whether from the left or right.
  10. Dead cat bounce? I couldn’t resist.
  11. MacLeans is a mouth piece for the Liebel Party and has been for years. I don’t even read them much any more.
  12. I have been anticipating a down turn for a year. Took a full position in gold and moved money into short term bond funds. Blue chip recession resistant stocks. Their all down! Gold is a huge disappointment. Trimmed back on my tech and Brookfield this morning.
  13. I thought union workers were the bedrock of the Democrats? Biden should not be talking down to these people that is what HRC did. I sometimes think Trump relates better at street level.
  14. Maybe we pull a end of times Roman style. Eat, drink and be merry as Rome burns. Easy to do in Maui.
  15. Might have really screwed up. It appears I didn’t take the virus seriously enough. I thought the supply chain disruptions would be manageable. Not looking good.
  16. Not sure if they have the capacity for 13 million. More important what does this do to countries so dependent on oil revenue? Iran, Iraq, Venezuela, Nigeria, could go on, Libya. Extreme instability. Throw the virus on top. Iran has already blamed the virus on the USA and the Saudis. Another missle attack?
  17. Not hearing much about those in 2016 anymore but isn’t there a case in the court right now?
  18. In the 2016 campaign there were many women who charged Trump with raping them. Yet you are saying white women supported him because they disliked HRC SO MUCH? That was 4 years ago and Trump hasn’t done himself any favours. How Trump deals with the virus is important but he didn’t create it. The economic impact likely hurts him more.
  19. My memory of that crisis is vague. I know that the banks were doing some financial deals with questionable ethics. Somehow they were using Denmark and left them holding some debt. Kinda unique as 300,000 people isolated and actually fairly self sufficient. When the secret bank accounts were expos3d it turned out that their PM had an account there. So so much of our economy is tied to real estate. Construction and finance. Employs a lot of people. If this falters the compounding downturn could be huge. Individuals cannot leverage their debt more than by taking out a mortgage. I invest in MIC’s with a usual spread of 55 to 100 debt to market. I’m getting nervous. If it unravels it will likely be quick. When governments step in to provide stability their credit will come under scrutiny.
  20. What can they do but rezone and go higher? I don’t want to live in another HongKong style density but how else can you make housing cheaper?
  21. Using your time frame one could ask where world economies will be by then? How many countries will default and compound the crisis? To me it isn’t just the virus or oil flooding the world. It is all about world governance being able to handle a debt challenge that makes 2008 look like child’s play. People misplace confidence in the ‘system’ to pull out from collapse. Personal to corporate to government. Our system is so leveraged any failure to met a commitment could trigger a run on the bank, so to speak. I think of Argentina’s last default and how that shook the world. World Bank means nothing. The USA had to step in. The USA might not be there this time.
  22. I know I sound like a broken record but I worry about the debt. Covid19 could be the trigger that causes major adjustments in exposure. Existing debt globally is to large to repay. There is a almost mythical idea that there will be some kind of reset where everyone starts over on an equal footing. We should all know that won’t happen. There will be winners and losers.
