[Discussion] Will the Next one be the Worst Recession in History?
Boudrias replied to Warhippy's topic in Off-Topic General
I think the virus fallout is the great unknown. Originally branded another SARS and measured in a couple of months. Now a lot of? Many of who I read anticipated a 10% pullback this spring and then gains in H2 with an anticipated Trump re-election. The Trump re-election does not change the long term reality of a massive debt crisis that will likely last a decade. Once confidence is lost in the governments ability to manage spending will crater. We we have never experienced a market pullback with the level of ETF participation as now. It will likely exasperate volatility and drive markets even further down. -
Investing in the stock market - Discussion
Boudrias replied to AV's Coin's topic in Off-Topic General
I have set up to buy on a 10% correction this spring but the corona virus has thrown a wrench into things. Most of the people I read called for a H2 rally in anticipation of a Trump re-election. My gold is up but not as much as expected. I hold my long holds and use the cash flow to add to positions. I do do expect a worse case scenario within 2-4 years when a full blown debt crisis happens. My question now is whether the corona virus morphs into the anticipated debt crisis. GDP drops will threaten businesses and thusly jobs. Lack of spending kills more jobs. A solid correction would be 15% more than that ??? So much a confidence game. I will wait and build cash. -
Should Prince Harry be chosen as our King?
Boudrias replied to canuckster19's topic in Off-Topic General
I don’t like the British monarchy any more than I do the native monarchy in BC. People should be judged by their actions not by their blood or the line of BS they spew. -
Well Alf isn’t that the way of the world? Easier to interpret the world than actually work in it. At some point in the near future we will all rediscover the essentials in life. A sizeable portion of the working population will find their job isn’t really needed.

I know the father of a high up SpaceEx executive. He showed me video of the assembly plant for the rocket that will take 100 people to Mars. They are already working on 2 ships which will actually launch with people on board. These guys are engineers and speak a language I don’t understand. Pretty exciting non the less.

It’s growing because ordinary people are feeling the pain. They are paying more attention to what the politicians are saying and doing. Vivian Krause can release her research but many people didn’t actually pay attention. Now they hear that their so called federal government has been giving money to the Pembina Institute and lying about it. I suspect more hard facts will be forthcoming on how money is drained east. Businesses that are hurting will/are funding Wexit. This hasn’t happened in a major way before. Oil has another + 30 years of use. All major producers continue to invest in the industry. Read Vermillion’s year end. Expanding in Europe continues. USA scooped the LNG industry from BC. Canada is a banana monarchy. What is happening to the West is a national security issue and the debate doesn’t move beyond a bunch of American paid protesters drinking coffee around tire fires.

Joe Biden Debates Donald Trump September 29
Boudrias replied to DonLever's topic in Off-Topic General
Sorry but if I had a pick between Bernie or Trump I am voting Trump. What is worst a blowhard or someone willing to make promises he knows he cannot keep. Both deal in deception and the ability to exploit people. Anyone who suggests that socialists/communists are not in the business of deception and exploitation are naive. Trump has many faults but to an extent has delivered. He has been cast as a war monger, Russian stooge, sex pervert, fake businessman etc...... Yet he delivers a robust economy, record jobs, higher pay, more capital investment and a stronger military. He holds allies to account for not pulling their weight. All of this is popular with most Americans I talk to. Does this mean Trump is the saviour of America? I do expect Trump to be re-elected. I also expect a major financial crisis during his 2nd term. It will be a worldwide crisis which could take decades to overcome. Many will take comfort in blaming Trump for this. While he did nothing to help the situation it began decades earlier with governments who consistently deficit spent. They never made their citizens make hard choices. Trump will become a footnote as all politicians should be. At some point it has to be the people who step up and not the father figures they so easily abdicate their responsibilities too. -

Apparently so did the Trudeau’s, especially Mom! -
The money has been leaving for over 3 years and now you are getting worried? Debt crisis coming and Canada will be hurt worse than most G7.

IMHO Jake has as much to gain as most on this roster come playoffs. Consistency with a heavy edge will make this kid a top 6 player.

I went to Moscow in 1974 for the WHA series. Got to meet Howe at a meet and great. Very quiet guy. Went to one of the games and a Russian player took Mark into the boards right in front of me. He turned back from the hit and Geordie buried his elbow up into this kids tonsils. When he came up off the ice he had all three Howe’s, Staring him down. Absolute classic. -

I am reading son Murray’s book about Geordie. Different perspective. Written with much love for his Dad. -

It won’t make a difference whether the Bruins or another team come playoffs. CUP play is another level of play. I don’t expect the Canucks to go deep. This run to playoffs and hopefully 2 rounds is about the experience for the players who have never been there. When I put my diehard Canuck hat on I have to think the add of TT and the return of BB yields some serious magic. -

Adding TT probably wins the Calder for Hughes. -

Gaudette getting the same comments. It can take time. I suspect Jake gets a crack at top 6 next year. Gaudette comes back as a solid 3C. -
I think I’m related to Prince Harry. What does that get me? I mean it is pretty far back. That should be good for a couple of acres in Salmo.

Hillary and her cohorts submarined Barnie in 2016 and they are back at it again. They play Wapo and CNN like the fools they are. Bloomberg is the only serious challenger to Trump in the field and they made him look a little foolish the other night. Meanwhile back at Trump central his committee locked up all the prime uTube advert space leading up to the Nov election. I guess the Dems were sleeping again. Must have left it up to there software purchasing group. -
Exactly. Greenies seem to be geographically specific. Strange? Conversation with Ottawa is a waste of time. The western CPC members like Rempel still talks that way. The last 30 years don't seem to register. When I talked to her she was a tad more aggressive. What more of a message do you need than watching out sad sack leader, JT, mumble on TV. Elect 20 Wesit MP's and the process will be unstoppable.

[Speculation] Stecher might be on the market
Boudrias replied to HerrDrFunk's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Green's system? DO you mean the collapsing in front of the net to try an force outside shots? Stecher is a good puck handler and above average skater. In CUP play opposing teams will play his body just as Calagry did with Tanev a few years ago. They will do the same thing against Hughes. It is a fact of life in CUP play. IMHO this style of play is the biggest aspect of this years playoffs for the Canucks. Heavy games and how each player reacts. Moving Stecher or any player is about what comes back and how it impacts the CAP. -
I think the Hutton experience will impact attitudes. JB couldn't move Hutton in the end and LA signed him for less than $2 mil. Isn't Goldy's deal up as well?

I see where Manning's panel is to post his report March 31st. IMO Rempel and I am sure Manning will be soft pedaling. Check out the Reisor website. I met his brother, good people.

RS have you read the Buffalo Declaration yet? When CPC MP's start losing their seats to Wexit candidates watch out.

100% agree. TT has played his entire career in the West Coast. He steps into a team that is on the upswing. As much a big deal that he plays with Miller as playing with EP40. He has to be smiling about that. We don't know whether he wants to re-sign with Van or not. Tax treatment alone gives the American teams an advantage. But life is good on the Coast. If the Canucks make playoffs and have a decent run it might get him excited about coming back. He has an abrasiveness similar to Miller which is needed.

Get over it Alf, Baer and Goldy are never coming back. Just imagine how those two boys will feel if the TDL passes and they are still in Utica.

Dach had a really strong game in Vancouver. Young, big, physical and a great shot.
