When I started many years ago the expectation was always that you started out at the bottom and worked your way up. Summer jobs picking fruit then throwing hay. I had my first year of university saved up before I graduated grade 12. Paid jobs like that were gravy because I also had the home chores. It was actually my mother who drilled the hard work ethic into me. My parents grew up in the '30s and never took anything for granted.

Joe Biden Debates Donald Trump September 29

Wasn't Hillary saying the same thing? More money in your pocket is a wonderful thing. -
I was in town on the weekend and my taxi driver in from the airport told me he drives 12 hours per day x 7 days a week. He has 3 kids who have all graduated UBC with degrees. Proud father. He says anyone who says there is no work don't know what they are talking about or are simply lazy. Great guy to talk to with a real positive attitude. So much more opportunity in Canada versus India.

Not about global warming. All about exerting native sovereignty.

No one should have Roussel, Sutter, SChaller or Ericksson pencilled onto the roster for a serious CUP run in 2023. We have to hope that a Lind and other prospects from the system can force their way up onto the big club. Hoping Lind gets a crack next year.

It is the Sedins night. The fact that so many of their team mates want to take part is a tribute to the Twins. Ryan Kesler wanting to be in Van is a huge tribute by him to the Twins. I was a huge Kesler and Burrows fan when they broke in as they played aggressive games that IMHO the Canucks were desperate for. I think fans should consider how much their play helped the Twins achieve the lofty goals they did. As our Canucks build towards another CUP shot I think part of the missing puzzle to date are the Kelser and Burrows 2023 versions. The Twins have offered many moments in their careers for us to reflect on what is important in life. Personal integrity, giving and service before self. Their sweaters being retired is a small tribute that we can enjoy with them.

So you believe the government only hired 8000 employees in 26 years. Cannot believe everything you read.

Babcock did such a great job in Lafferville. Was it a bad bunch of entitled players who ran him out? -

Playoff hockey only in the sense of qualifying for the post season. CUP play is far more intense than what we saw last night. Players are far more willing to put everything on the line. -

The day most of the roster tunes Green out there will be a problem. Not close to being there. You are bang on. It is a process and that is measured in years not months. Green and Benning know that. -

He was Breitbart’s father in-law. A young left wing hippie who finally matured to the right side. -
When you see the number of new jobs created in a month are government jobs we should be upset. Every year government takes over more of the economy. Checks and balances are being removed. It is upsetting that younger people don’t really question this. The nanny state cannot provide for all. It is a long term debilitating process. It is a cop out for poor performance by government. Lack of leadership. Most people have no faith in their leadership these days. Very destabilizing.

I thought Green’s post game was bang on. Peter didn’t see anything less than he will come playoffs. It is about developing a mental toughness that can deal with playoff hockey. Look at the process Johnny Hockey has gone through. CUP play is a different game. No calls. Peter and Hughes will be on the hit list. Ultimately they have to find a way to deal with it. What I didn’t see last night was the Canucks playing a heavy enough game against the Flamers. Their talent isn’t going to win every game. They can play a grittier game but didn’t last night. Is it just me or was the puck jumping around a lot more than usual? Curious how NHL players rate Rogers ice? Canucks are in a playoff drive which limits the opportunity to get fresh faces into the lineup. That said MacEwan and Bailey should get some games. This isn’t about deserving it. It is about evaluating and prep for playoffs if they are needed. Sit Schaller and yes Eriksson. -

Sorry but that part of BC will be standing with AB. You had better fall back to the Island and schuttle the ferries.

When governments spend more money than they raise thru tax then they are disguising or lying about the real impact it will have in their lives. Most governments in the world are doing exactly that. Canadians think they are better off than most people in the world which is fine on a certain level. I suggest that they have little idea of the financial reality of their country. They should be very nervous. I have done wholesale business on both sides of the border and found Americans more loyal to their domestic suppliers. They were willing to pay more to their local businesses. It is important to realize that this experience is not necessarily a character comment. Canadian markets are smaller and therefore more expensive, margins are smaller. I consider the the health of the economy a national security issue. Ability to generate business profits is critical. This is an issue that should get national debate. Instead we have elections based on ‘blackface or how religious a leader might be’. We are a banana monarchy.

So do people have to post their net worth as the criteria of how good a Canadian you are? Your guilty of the same point you are criticizing.

Manny loses one NHL team to Dallas because of mismanagement and are trying to repeat history. When they got another team it was on a sweetheart deal. I want Big Tuna to beat Suter wide, cut to the net and score! -

Use the PVR Deb! Slow down. We don’t want to lose you. PVR means no more commercials! Gotta love the technology. -
I’m in Van right now and the pump price is $1.419. Apparently BCers are happy to pay 40% more than AB for gas in support for something that most don’t know what? They are being played and don’t even realize it.

[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Boston Bruins | Feb. 04, 2020

IMHO the Canucks have to play games like the Bruins to develop. I certainly did not see the same negatives as many other posters. 3rd game in 4 nights. The Bruins tried their heavy game to start and thusly the Petey hit. It was late but Petey was a tad careless IMO. No doubt a penalty. That said the Canucks did have pushback on the physical game and dished back. Thought Bo and Pearson played a pretty heavy game. Rous and Beagle were in it. Bottom line is the Bruin forwards are physical but also talented. Their ozone TOI was impressive. Marky played very well and the Canucks kept a lot of the play to the outside. The Bruin interviewed between periods said it well. Canucks have talented forwards and their weakness was in the d-zone. We play there and that nullifies their offence. To a large extent that worked. Canucks still got some looks but Rask was solid. You play those types of games and get a good look at where you have to be to be competitive. JT Miller's comments were bang on. 'We weren't good enough' is something the young players can think about as they move on. Win in Minny and the road trip is a solid winner. -
IMHO many CDC fans are short on patience for developing players. Gaudette was not penciled in for full time NHL this year but forced his way onto the roster. The experience he gets this year will see him blossum. Let him play and enjoy. If prospect depth forces him out then there is an asset who will bring back a solid return. In Benning I trust.
