So glad that Duke Boeser will make the game. A game to remember for Brock. When was the last time the Canucks had 3 players at the All-Star game? I will be watching that game with a lot of interest. Motte has another strong game. Ever since returning from his injury he has gotten stronger. IMHO he is making a strong case for regular 3rd line duty. A lot of skill in a 190 pound body. Reminds me of Gallagher for the Habs. -

Totally agree with you. As @SabreFan1 mentioned his feeling about this has been perking for awhile now. Unfortunately to many posters want to get their shots in as quickly as possible without a lot of thought or with the keyboard aggressiveness that seems to pass as conversation these days. -

+ 16000 posts on these boards is enough to write a book! CDC has evolved over the years but depth is not a common thought process. Where can you go now a days where you don't find a big dose of mindlessness? -

MOD steps in and tells SabreFan to take some time on the Sabre site because he is calling CDC fans homers. A bit over the top especially since SabreFan has a great rep on this site. Excessive. -

Sorry to hear that SabreFan. I don't bother responding to a lot of the negative stuff. A lot of the posters on here are probably 12 years old or university debating team wannabees. I enjoy your comment so hang in there. Still won't change my anger over losing Perrault! Oh, and Danny Gare was from my part of the world. Least we forget one of the all time greats, Tim Hortonres have had some great ones over the years. -

The Americans didn't have to worry about Canada maintaining a military the size it was post WW II. The country simply could not afford it. Many myths about the Avro. Tech superior. USA national security concerns would never have had that plane produced for their consumption. Top that with concerns over how much of the Canadian military had been infiltrated by the Russians. I liken Canada to a banana republic as far as how Canadian national security is handled. Ignoring social concerns and simply dealing with border integrity. The Russians, Chinese and the USA are encroaching on Canadian territory in the North with impunity. On a early thread you suggested that the Euros would honor Nato treaty commitments to Canada in the event of aggression in Canada's north. I question that and in fact highly doubt they would, other than talking. Canada shorts military spending by $13 - 15 billion per year. IMHO Canada should leave Nato and focus the military in Canada, particularly the North. Any engagement outside of Canada should be on a case by case basis.

I would suggest that this thread has been full of conspiracy theories from the get go. Not 24 hours ago it was a Trump did it. -

Do you really think the Euros of NATO would send forces to defend Canada if for example the Russians seized territory in the North? I would not hold my breath. -

One can focus on the single action of taking out Sulaimani as notching it up but I would argue that the man had been very active in Iran-Iraq-Syria-Lebanon killing people. IMHO taking him out was not escalating the situation but simply taking advantage of intel. Now it appears that there is some division within the Iranian government and that factions within that government wanted Sulaimani gone. Even suggestions that Sulaimani was plotting a coup. Over 170 of his IRGC commanders have been arrested. A question might be whether there was someone on that plane who was a threat to one of these factions? -
I agree with your assessment. To an extent I think the USA has let their allies off from their deteriorating militaries for the sake of geographic proximity and access. Technological improvements have to a large degree nullified that need. The American advantage continues to grow. POTUS Trump has moved away from the globalist approach that past administrations had, both GOP and Dem. His America first approach threatens the globalist ideals of world government and a massive transfer of wealth. Globalism in itself is not necessarily a bad goal but the method is what has caused division. Sulaimani killing: 1) The Democrats have truly shown how low they can go in an effort to defeat Trump. They and their MSM allies have once again shown the American people what they are. 2) SAM rocket takes out Ukraine airliner: You have to ask why? a) Was there someone on that plane the Iranian government wanted to eliminate? A lot of the passengers were Iranian intellectual ex-pats. Were there leaders in the anti government forces on that plane? b) Was the Iranian government sending a message to the Americans about how far they would go? c) A trigger happy SAM crew? A SAM base next to Bagdad airport sees dozens of planes a day. Why did this one become a perceived threat? 3) Stability of the Iranian government: Suggestions now that the Iranian government deliberately 'delivered' Sulaimani to the Americans. Suggested that Sulaimani was plotting a coup with his IRGC. Over 170 IRGC commanders have been arrested over the past few months and 56 were arrested the day Sulaimani was killed. Iran has faced numerous freedom riots over the past 10 years. This predates Trump but the Trump economic blockade has seriously weakened the existing government.

I used to go up and shovel my brother-in-law out as he was wheel chair bound. Felt sorry for his neighbours in the condo so shoveled them out as well. That went on for a few years and as the residents turned over I became what I think they thought was the hired man. Some got quite snippy if I didn't have them dug out as fast as they thought. The ultimate was when a old fellow wanted to slip me a fiver to clean him out before my brother-in-law.

It wasn't an Iranian plane. Ukraine I believe. Majority of the passengers had Canadian passports or were going to school in Canada. Many students. Significant unrest in Iran. We all know how reliable CNN is (not). They loss a liable suit by that young 16 year old they smeared. -
They likely could have taken him out with a bullet but there were other targets in the group as well. The deterrence aspect could not be minimalized. The Americans have been after this guy for years so mission accomplished. Once again the failed Democrat policy in the ME is exposed. Syria was no different.

Has to be Trump's fault. Not to worry our Sherlock Holmes PM is on the case. He will crack this case wide open.
