Suggesting Ray Ferraro is a arm chair warrior in the process of defending Pods prospects is more than a stretch. IMO it is to early to evaluate Pod's NHL potential. I watched him closely during the WJC and was impressed. Larionov's comparison to Messier was more than excessive. Ferraro has very valid scouting opinions like many others. I always find him worth listening to.

I think you are right. Stecher is likely moved. I am happy if OJ can finish the year in Utica playing healthy. Utica will have Calder play which would be great experience. Would love Rafferty have some NHL games to have a look.

I suggested Motte get shifts in the top 9 because of his play to date and the need to know how he would perform. He drives play and has a good chance of still being with the team in 2-3 years when they are CUP contenders. IMHO Sutter, Erickson and maybe Roussel won't be.

[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Tampa Bay Lightning | Jan. 07, 2020
Boudrias replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Its a process. Young players learn from games like that. I wouldn't mind seeing Benn back in depending on the opposition. Bring Benn in and sit Stecher. -
Add Goldy and your done. I would like to see Motte given some games further up the lines. Probably won't happen unless injuries happen.

Don't touch or he will wack you with his hockey stick!

Fiscal responsibility to the band level with an accountable reporting system. What is really inspiring is that bands are developing 'role models' at the band level. There are always people who take advantage when it presents itself. Many benefit financially from failed band administrations. Education and role models will change this. As an example at our local reserve in the last election a contender to the chief campaigned on the idea of selling all the businesses the band had bought and then issuing a cheque to each band member. He was defeated. That was a big step forward.

Could the missile strike have been impulsive? Always possible I guess. The left loves that idea as it feeds their missive that Trump is unstable. IMHO Trump has been pretty predictable. People might not like what he does but his agenda has been straight forward. MAGA. Globalists hate this. Businesses who exploit 3rd world sweat shops hate this. Allies who have sluffed off their defense expenses on the USA hate this. Countries who have manipulated their currencies for economic advantage hate this. Trump is very predictable. He has not entered into foreign military moves. He handled Syria pretty well. He supported the Ukraine with air defense systems. Surprise, he didn't invade Venezula. He has the USA booming with unemployment at 70 year lows. Labor participation rates at generational highs. IMHO those who oppose Trump have to put a solid business case together that challenges what Trump has accomplished. To date the Dems trot out nutbars like Warren, Sanders and AOC. When, on sober reflection, they move towards the middle their go to guy is Joe Biden. How do you take confidence from these options? Truly there are others than this bunch. Get a Tim Cook or a Google alumnus. Get someone who can develop a plan and knows how to execute it. Get someone who can force a debate on the economic future and not people who dwell on character assassination. Trump's lack of social graces can work against him. The Dem effort to date has been juvenile and most people see thru it.

We might never know the information that led to the decision. Highly likely we should not know. The bottom line is this guy has been leading terror attacks for decades. As much as the left and islamists are trying to build some kind of moral equivalency of executing a government official it is laughable.

A UN dominated by the worst human rights violators. To what standard does this org operate from. The existence of the 'Indian Act' is in itself a paternalistic dominance of native Canadians. I am one who supports personal initative and that is almost impossible for natives. I am all for native participation in major infrastructure projects like Trans Mountain. Having skin in the game for anyone means more than a bunch of government bureaucrats interpreting the latest epiphany of process. Native Canadians have experienced discrimination, much of it thru the Indian Act, but I do not hold today's generation responsible. There is a government department in Ottawa that skims significant monies away from natives. There are many Canadians who have a history of severe challenges. The bottom line is personal empowerment and that is happening in our community.

The snow flake section that is cheerleading Iran will melt away just as Iran will. Somewhat laughable as Iranian claims of strength reminds me of the bravado of the Elite Iraqi Republican Guard. That went well. Iran is a house of cards held together by massive intimidation of their population. Murder and torture is a daily occurrence. Yet the global left, especially in the USA, cheers on the idea of Iranian retribution. The more American death the better. What a sad bunch.

They just arrested another 20 this morning.

I am sympathetic with Iran in that they fought Saddam Hussein for 7 years without help from anyone. Hussein was a Saudi surrogate supported by both GOP and Dem administrations. The Saudis are just as bad or worse than the Iranians. Both their forms of Islam hate the West, both are buried in Medieval thought. Not that I support Iran's drive for nuclear weapons I can see why they are so determined. The USA began to 'detach' itself from its alliances in the ME under Obama and Trump as continued the transition. The issue is not that the USA needs ME oil. It is about who controls that oil and the influence it can have over those that need it. American allies such as India, S. Korea, Japan and so called allies like the EU depend on ME oil. Trump's demand that they take an active role in actually defending their own interests in the region is bang on. The geography of Iran is a significant deterent against land invasion or Iran mounting military efforts outside of Iran. Narrow mountainous passes that can be easily sealed by air strikes. Iran has develop surrogate forces in the ME to counter Saudi efforts. IMHO it was the Saudis who instigated the ISIS insurrection in Syria. The only country in the ME that I trust is Israel.

I did a little research; TV revenue by team and league; NBA: $80 mil MLB: $118 mil NFL: $255 mil NHL: $ 6.5 mil * this is only the ABC deal, does not include Canadian money It must make Bettman and his team have dreams about the possible raise. The NHL is so cheap that tying them up would be cheap air time. Had heard that Bettman would regionalize the offers to boost the aggregate take. Seattle coming in boosts the over all market. IMHO this is why Quebec won't get a team. The future is gate receipts being a smaller portion of revenue. This is particularly true in the NBA already.

Haven't been off the highway for a few years now. The park on the lake is quite nice. Not sure where the school is. The mill was there for decades so Canal Flats benefited for many years. When the jobs go it is devastating. When Creston lost its big mill it was 275 jobs gone + all the harvesting jobs in the bush. People in the city scoff at this stuff but it is no joke in small towns.

Estimates are all over the board. Broadcasters are desperate for content. NHL is way below major sports, NBA, MLB and of course the NFL which is in the stratosphere. I have no idea what viewership is on American networks. I don't know whether the revenue from MSG or NESN are shared with the NHL?

Surprised?

Not unlike Goldy and Baer, Ericksson has to be moved by the TDL. He gets a number of games with Bo looking not bad and maybe there is a deal to be made. Lot of CAP tied up in those 3. In an ideal world LE is moved and Virtanen takes his spot. MacEwan can get TOI at that point.

Pods was on the #1 PP and did do PK. He regularly set up team mates particulary from behind the net and his net front was very consistent. His passing was top notch. It was obvious to me that his coach thought highly of his play. I would not compare him to Jake as it is way to early. I was very impressed.

What is going on both in Iraq and the USA after killing this terrorist is political posturing. The Americans leave Iraq and they descend into another civil war. The Dems are desperate for any angle that puts them back into the White House. They are losing on most fronts right now and Trump really hasn't started his campaign. When they lose control of the narrative their radical views surface.
-
What park? The park down on the lake is complete. Canfor has their mills in Radium, Elko and Creston. The old mill maintenace building in Canal Flats was sold to some tech firm. I am not sure what they do. They wanted the electrical infrastructure I believe. The move in the industry now seems to be more value added as raw wood supply diminishes.
