Awesome game. Awesome win.....first line combined for 8 points in total. & in a row and Bo and petey were stellar tonight. Were on a roll now.... -
I dont get what others are implying other then that have high expectations, which ofc is a good thing. However BB has produced assists and is 2nd on the team in total points so the talk of him not producing seems like its the wrong conclusion. One thing u must keep in mind is the personal situation with his dad being seriously ill and hes a 22 y old guy who still has a lot to learn about becoming an adult. Its a bit like markys dad passing away, but marky is older and more mature. Life is not easy, u just gotta deal with it. In spite of this id say BB has done well and i think he will only get better as he grows and matures. I expect BB to be a 40-50 goal/season type of player within the next 3 years and together with EP they will be around +100p/season type of players for many years to come. Keep in mind they got a whole lot of growing to do and the potential to reach that level is very much a possibility for them. Much higher then with most players in the league.

Omg what an important win! Myers with his best game for the nucks and 2nd in the division. That is justs HUGE! this win was such a big stepping stone towards the playoffs that id also call it the most important game of the year. Well done by the boys. -

There are big games in the middle of the season and if any id say this is it. total 4 point game to fight for the top 3 and passing tonights oponent. That is pretty damn huge. Hoping for a 3-2 victory. EP, BB and Bo with the goals. Huggy with an a on the PP. -

Impossible to say who will win it since some are harder to get going after a break then others. If the natural laws are as they should then nucks should win 5-2, Petey, Miller, Bo, Pearson, Gaud with the goals. -
Sutter will take the center position on the third while gaud will go to 2nd. With Leivo out u need a new creative player on 2nd and Bos line needs some relief from the defensive work. Sutter is much needed for that.

huuuuuuuuge win....hughes win.....huggybear win even.... Merry xmas everyone... thats a 4 point game. -
To me its the way he does the job without the puck that has made me the most impressed. The way he positions himself to get to areas where he cuts off angles and can distribute the puck and regain the puck again is fantastic. Exactly the completion needed to a sniper like brock and a magic man like Petey. Since everyone takes notice of petey he and brock should get many chances to score. its simply a great match. When those three get some pressure against the oposing net its so much fun to watch. a solid 1st line imo.
-
Im also pleasantly surprised by him. Took him as a Reserve but now i wouldnt be surprised if he knocks stecher or Benn out when Edler returns. Few mistakes and a decent passing play and positioning. Not all can be a 4th forward extraordinaire like Huggybear, so to see a reserve play like this makes him a great addition.
-
The way i see it our 1st PP is pretty complete. Petey and Boeser can both vary by switching sides to mix it up as sniping threats. Bo and miller can circle and distribute the puck as well as regin the rebounds and 2nd pucks. Hughes as a QB on top. So basically the Brock-Bo-Miller with hughes and Petey on blue line is pretty damn good. Miller-Bo Brock Petey Huggybear As for the 2nd line i like gaud as Center and gets role as sniper and puckwinner/creative type so he can evolve in that area for the future. He has potential for taking another step in his evolution as a center and top 2 line player. Pearson works as sniper and breaking in on net and rebounds as his shot and powerful style makes him a scoring threat. Leivo would have been my other choice as creator and puckwinner in the corners as well as fast skater. Jake would be the Puckwinner and sniper as we have seen he is capable of. At point id have a healthy Edler. Pearson-Gaud Jake Leivo Edler This works imo. Our 1st PP should have the bigger portion of the PP....and thats a damn fine 1st PP and a decent 2nd.
-
who would u put on D or on the wings? Our PP is pretty solid as is, why the change and what would u get out of that?
-
I think that u see what type of player and what type of skill u get during training camp and during preseason games. U have to at least have some kind of belief in the coaching staffs capabilities and their judgement on who gets to play where and when. Motte is solid as a 4th liner though.
-
closing in on midseason id say hes getting closer to where everyone has thought he would reach. a top 2 line type of player. Question is if he can maintain this kind of focus or get back in to old ways and just play half-and-half. For now.....just enjoying the ride and i hope he can continue and take the next step instead of taking a step back.
-
Terrible injury. Hes imo one of the most important depth players thats creative and got some wheels. 7G 12A so far is not bad from someone jumping between 2-3 lines.

oh god...2-3 MONTHS without Leivo? dang......thats tough. Hes one of the creative players thats now missing. Gaud stepping it up to 2nd line now? Pearson-Bo-Gaud? In any case thats terrible news coz in my eyes Leivo has been one of the better players on the team. Pens managing ok despite being without some important players. Sid, bjugstad and hornqvist. if it werent for malkin id say were gonna win big. Now its gonna be a battle and its up to the team to get it done and win. I predict a 4-2 win for nucks. Petey, boeser, Pearson, Gaud with the goals. -

no marky in net....demko injured.....Vegas a typical hard high checking type of tactics....this can get ugly -
i dont remember how good marner was 2 years ago and not who his teammates was either... id say Petey is on his way to much better stats in general and will of course be in more and more gamedeciding situations in 1-2 years also. I dont consider Marner to be better at all. I wouldnt trade him for the world. EP has more potential and will grow and mature faster then other players in the entire league at this point. This is EPs sophmore year and hes gonna produce twice the points this season. how much better will he be next season and the season after that?

I hate the fact that every time we face an oponent that checks high we run into serious problems. same when facing jets or canes. just cant get through with those important first passes from D to forward. U got to come up with another strategy to break through this.... -
Ferland is an important depthplayer that adds something lacking: power. power enough to win puckbattles, win battles in front of the net, create space for teammates. Without Ferland we have no one that can fill that role and maintain a top 2 line skill level. So yea....definetly want him back.
-
I dont see how u can trade Pearson and Leivo for that matter. they are 2 players that contribute offensively quite well as depthplayers. Leivo has great wheels and is creative. Pearson is more power and with a decent shot. Also Ferland is a much more powerful type of player to get in front of the net and create space. I like Gaud a lot this year and he is having a bit of a breakout season by scoring goals and is more suited to be a top 6 player then a bottom 6 which means u will have a competition for the winger spots on the 2nd and 3rd line. The only line to be intact at this point is Miller-Petey-Brock. If we can find another player like Miller to place next to Bo and Gaud develops into a fully fledged Sniper then we would have 2 Top lines imo. For now we got our cards dealt and i dont see a trade happening unless its something of a Roleplayer C for another bottom 6 role. in any case.....its Gameday back to back against a top team thats out for revenge for last night. I hope we can maintain that same lockdown of their Mcdraisaitl line and we should win this. Both should be equally tired so its a question of who wants it more. Im hoping the fans creates that motivation and support and with that a wonderful 4-2 win. Also hoping Edler is not on the IR list. This time Petey, miller, Brock and Gaud with goals.
-
I never agree with anyone saying he is bad when he plays an ok or a good game and last game he was ok. If ppl are pissed over the big paycheck i definetly understand that so theres no reason for me to get upset if he gets a lot of $&!# when he doesnt deliver. I try and put myself in his situation and it has got to be mentally drainining for sure. So i hope he continues to deliver and goes all out on heavy forechecks and puckbattles. Then he deserves a spot....

Miller-Pettersson-Boeser Leivo-Bo-Gaudette Pearson-Sutter-Virtanen Ferland-Beagle-Schaller If everyones healthy right now u dont get those options so Bo will have to play shutdown line. Id still like to keep Miller-Petey-brock shutdown is Pearson-Bo-Virt semi-offense is Leivo-Gaud-Goldy/Eriksson 0-0 line is Schaller-Graovac-Macewen I do wonder what Goldy will bring....but the team is lacking defensive C atm so it feels a bit uneasy with the 3rd and 4th line. -

mmm game day against division rivals.....and this season a major improvement compared to last season. these next 2 games are huge games this season and we are without roleplayers in the form of sutter and Beagle that are supposed to be shutting down that Mcdavid/Draisaitl line. The rules are simple: shut down that line and we win 4-1. If not we loose 5-2. i think we win 4-1. Miller, Petey, Bo, Brock with the goals. big biiiig game..... -
