  1. im guessing the major issue is the capspace remaining. if brock gets a 7+ million deal someone on the team will most likely have to go.....if not then i would b pretty surprised if u cant agree somewhere along a 7.5 for ca 7 years or so.
  2. nifty move there by petey https://www.nhl.com/canucks/video/camp--day-2-scrimmage-highlights/t-277437438/c-68851103
  3. Agree partially at least. Post one pic from the gym wont matter just as much as if u post a pic from a party drinking. These are still kids growing up and as long as they train hard and strive to improve and develop they should do whatever they want to be able to get that mental recovery during the offseason. Not to say they still represent the club and has a responsibility to not go too far off track.
  4. hm...compared to last year petey actually seems a bit more confident in his interviews i must say. finally things are in motion and some actual news and answers to how preseason training has any impact on performance as well as what the new teammates brings to the table. Ferland definetly seems to be set on playing a simple physical game so i hope they find a gameplan for how to efficiently use that in the system. Fun stuff to follow....
  5. if marky can maintain the level of play from last year he should get a good deal as a no1 goalie for some years to come.
  6. 5.5? brocks should be around 7.5 and id call that a damn fair deal for a player of his caliber. Hes still developing and fits in well with petey. Close the deal NOW! its training camp around the corner!
  7. sophmore year...not sure what to expect tbh. His preseason training results and how the chemisty will be with the new linemates (Miller?). But like the commentators said the sky is the limit..... realistically id say 70-80 points unless he gets some of those extreme games where he gets 5 points or so. 100 i think is over the top to expect, especially since all the teams know they have to keep extra attention on no 40 in the nucks jersey. I think its gonna be tough.
  8. i also enjoyed the pic of the garage shown on the screen there where u can see how broken it is from all the pucks he shot. At the end he also mentions he is never satisfied with himself and always wants more and to improve. and as with most competitive people he hates to lose. Also that he feels good about the upcoming season and hopes it will be an improvement from last season.
  9. NP glad u liked it. the magazine has done 2 more similar ones with Oliver ekman-Larsson(yotes) and John Klingberg(stars). This Apartment Petey bought recently in the town of Sundsvall in northern swedn a few miles from his hometown. He did look like he had a bit more on his arms so hoping he comes prepared for the next season.
  10. Clip from a swedish sports magazine that basically visits swedish NHL pros at their homes in sweden. Sorry no subs found.
  11. The difference this year is the type of power u get up front with Ferland and Miller, winning pucks and forcing turnovers, positioning in front of the net. That was lacking last year so it will be a big difference since u can also switch it up with more skilled type of players when matching the opositions lines. With that being the case u can still match a 2nd and 3rd line with some more skill creating some relief for peteys line also. If this is enough for success remains to be seen but is definetly a much needed change. Also the D seems a lot more solid then last year.
  12. 7.5 for 7 years? sounds fair imo....
  13. i remember from the Allstar skillscompetition for fastest skater, on his 2nd turn he didnt accelerate behind the net, which is what Mcdavid always does. He mentions here that he in corners felt he didnt quite have the full grip he wanted so lets see if he will start to accelerate even more while turning with the new Profile.
  14. Doesnt his father still have the key to the rink? if so im guessing hes already been on ice a couple fo times on his own or wtih his bro.
  15. Goldy is great in the offensive zone though, and his hands are among the best in the team. He definetly has good vision and a great passer. I can see him being used against certain teams and on the PP, but he still need to improve his play without the puck or there wont be any spot left for him. Its a shame if someone with his talent wont make it, because its a pretty basic thing that is lacking, but it takes a mentality and will that takes a lot from the individual. If he improves in his play wthout the puck and keeps maturing he should stay. But it would be for the price of Baertschi, and to match baertschi hes gonna need a whole lot of improvement.
  16. Bo is the teams most complete player and with some decent wingers he should be around 60-70 points. He is a player of that level easily imo. If baertschi stays healthy and a deceent RW he should reach those numbers. i can easily see Virtanen get a breakthrough year and baertschi-Bo-Virtanen unloading a lot of the pressure from peteys line. There are still a lot of options with Ferlan arriving to add some power up front, or Pearson, Goldy, Leivo fighting for a spot. In either case he should be in the top of the points per game production.
  17. Actually im kinda worried of how Peteys sophmore year will affect him. He is brilliant and got a special vision putting him on a higher level then the elite standard. That amazing shot and the way he moves on the ice and constantly makes new things happen. All that is based on confidence for a young player and that sophmore year can be a real killer for that. Like any player hes gonna need to work through it and im hoping his experience from last year as well as finding a third link next to boeser will get through it and that he will thrive as he did first half of last season. Also makes me wondering a lot about what type of pre-season training he has been doing. Anyone got any info on that what so ever? he needs to get stronger and tougher and still maintain the way his skating and mobility allows him to move the way he does....tricky stuff and not that much time for it. Also a mental recovery with family and friends.....
  18. im thinking somewhere around 40 points if he gets most of his icetime on one of the 2 top lines. atm i would say its Miller-pete-boeser and Baer-Bo-Ferland/Pearson/Leivo/Goldobin. Whats good about it is that there are options up front thanks to Ferland and Miller being on the roster and thats a huge difference compared to last year. I wouldnt be surprised if VIrtanen gets a breakthrough and gets a spot on the 2nd line either.
  19. I really dont have high expectations on this guy. The playstyle is pretty risky for injuries but is also needed up front. Im hoping he will be a puckwinner and force up front but i dont have the same expectations on him to produce like i do with miller.
  20. Yup we are definetly lucky to have a guy like this. Always does his job well and a player that i want on the ice when facing oponents best lines.
  21. Cant say wether or not miller or ferland will find chemistry. They clearly represent what was lacking last year, power up front. but its no guarantee for success. Its costly to play in that way and will they manage to stay healthy and find the chemistry on those lines? Sophmore year for petey and how will they produce come february-april? I think we have high expectations on miller and we can only hope he will fill that role and they learn how to work together in an efficient way on the lines he will be assigned to.
  22. Goldy has a lot of potential but lacks in the play without the puck. Its not about being good at defensive plays, its about creating space and helping ur teammates by something as simple as skating hard and position urself and using ur stick and body.
  23. Totally agree. U can have a solid D and still be a top team without having the highest points per player. Whats needed is consistency throughout the season, a hot goalie and that the team comes together to elevate each lines capabilities. The team still needs to develop its younger talents and some that are still on the roster needs to elevate their level of play. Theres no telling how new players will adapt to the team but we got some more power up front with miller and Ferland which was lacking last year. Can only hope they fnd chemistry and that the 2 top lines get a consisten production throughout the entire season. Last 3 months was really bad and thats got to change for next year.
  24. ineither case they got some more power up front and thats a huge difference compared to last year. more options if all players can stay healthy
