  1. He's 3rd on the team in hits (63), and his offensive numbers have been increasing every year before this season, with a couple more until he should be peaking. He's a solid 3rd/fringe 2nd liner when he's on. BTW, I don't think anyone expects him to play up to his draft position this far into his career. He was a "top 6 pick" in a draft 6 years ago... get over it.
  2. Signing bonuses only. From capfriendly: Not all players are eligible for Performance Bonuses, and to receive a bonus within their contract, a player must meet one of the following criteria: The player is on an entry-level contract. The player has signed a one-year contract and is over 35 years old. The player has signed a one-year contract after returning from a long-term injury (has played 400 or more games, and spent 100 or more days on the Injured Reserve in the last year of their most recent contract).
  3. If they're proven guys, don't you think they should be held just as accountable as Jake because they should know better than to make numerous, unforced, defensive turnovers?
  4. I guess you didn't pay attention for the first half of the year when no one but Höglander showed up to play
  5. He hasn't exactly f***ed up any more than the rest of the team. Seems you're looking for any mistake to criticize him on, and you can literally do that with any other Canuck. Edler screened Holtby twice on goals against, Miller gave the puck up in his own zone and gave up a good scoring chance without even trying to get back in the play, Hughes gambles on his pinches too often, Sutter can't seem to ever get the puck out of his own zone, etc... could go on for days.
  6. How about, single 10 min 3 vs 3, and if at the end of that it's still a tie, no points for either team.
  7. I just think he'd thrive on a good team like NYI. He's still nearly a ppg player, just not this season with Buffalo, which I kind of expected before the season started. So if his value is deflated from this year, he might be one of the better deals to acquire, if you're looking for a direct top line replacement. Plus, if they get him with enough retained, they could still go out and get another roster player for another area.
  8. Trade for Hall with retention? 1st, 2nd, decent prospect?
  9. Seems Lee is definitely done for the season now:
  10. If he doesn't get claimed, then we recall him. If he does, then we still have Juolevi, Sautner, and Rafferty on the squad.
  11. I mean, that's straight from the nhl website... are there maybe exemptions from this rule?
  12. If we want to get Mikey some games in Utica, we'd need someone to fill the 3rd string spot. Doesn't seem like he'll get any NHL action this season.
  13. Was curious, and came across this article from January: https://www.nhl.com/news/deputy-commissioner-bill-daly-discusses-nhl-return-to-play/c-320216624 "The NHL also created taxi squads consisting of between 4-6 players per team, including a minimum of one goalie, that will practice and travel and be available in case a team needs to recall a player on short notice. All taxi squad players are subject to waiver rules, if eligible." So it would seem we'd need to put him on the taxi squad.
  14. Claim Forsberg for a 3rd string goalie, and send DiPietro to Utica to get some games?
  15. Yeah, but without McDavid, they only have Dryshytel to rely on, so they will inevitably crap the bed again, so at least that'll be fun to watch.
