  1. I completely agree with both those statements! My only add it that, I think we need to get both a centre and an RHD in the Horvat trade, which will probably be the trade of the decade for us. Fortunately, listening to Rutherford's press conference, it sound pretty clear that he's thinking that way too!
  2. Is Wright on the market though? Which exceptional young players are really on the market? I think it's more of an issue that if another team really wants Bo, they're going to have to put a really good young player or two on the market for us. Then it's up to Rutherford/Allvin to decide who they want the most, probably influenced to a large degree by positional need.
  3. Maybe, but still not sure I would want to give away the biggest trading chip we will probably have for the next 5 years and not fill out biggest need -- for a young RHD. We've got strong centres now and look where we are. The hole(s) on D are just so glaring, particularly at RHD, and trading Horvat is definitely our best shot at improving that situation. The alternative will be drafting a stud RHD in the first round this year or next (if there are any), then waiting a couple more years until he can come to our rescue.
  4. Sure, but if we can get a strong return for Horvat by himself, probably not wise to also give away Lekkerimaki. Not unless getting Wright would obvoiusly be a big upgrade over what Horvat would bring alone.
  5. As long as Lekkerimaki is going to be a bust, yes. But if not, then it turns out to be too big a loss for us!
  6. Vulnerable to having Rutherford/Allvin swoop in and steal Tryamkin (i hope)?!
  7. Wise idea for Rutheford to make it sound like he wants Necas. Now when he shifts to asking for Morrow & Suzuki, Carolina will be more than happy to oblige.
  8. JIAHN, Rutherford needs to add you as a fourth assistant GM. I'm serious!
  9. Here's a newsflash that officially takes one potentially available D-man out of any future trade talk for Horvat: Flyers' Provorov refuses to wear Pride Night-themed warmup jersey
  10. I can't see what you're basing that evaluation of Mast on. At least if you go by the Hockey News prospect ratings, Mast has never even made it into Boston's top 10.
  11. Rutherford made it clear in his press conference, when he was talking about the team needing "major surgery" , that what they most need to get back is get a good young riight shot D and a young centre. Horvat is their best chance by far to reload their prospect pool in these positions. I think we can pretty much discount any trade rumours that don't bring back players like this in return. Mast may be a RHD, but I don't think he's close to being the level of player who could potentially become Hughes' future D partner.
  12. Possibly said that way with the intention of getting Bo to drop his asking price a bit, if he is wanting to stay.
  13. I see 'team tank' as meaning the players try to purposely lose as many games as possible. That's why I just can't get behind that concept.
  14. And we have no legacy of Finnish players.
  15. I see Burroughs and Woo as very comparable players. Both about the same size, not tall but fairly solid. Both right-handers, both tough as nails, but neither offensively gifted. Is there any reason to think that Woo has better upside than Burroughs? I would hope so, but not sure there is.
  16. Are these percentile ranks in comparison to league-wide norms, or just to his teammates?
  17. I think Allvin was just waiting and hoping that Boston would put Naetur on waivers.
