    If this is the price the team has to pay to ensure a few key players get a head start on their off season training and do all they can to avoid a repeat of this season's slow start, I can only say it's money well spent. I'm stunned at how many people are seeing it otherwise. I hope this management group is going to try something like this with their off season preparations every year.

    Just when it looks like we might be able to sneak out with Reinbacher or Daliborsky at #11, they rocket into McKenzie's top 10. Considering how early the two top-ranked RHD went in last year's draft, I'm feeling pretty certain now that someone else will take Reinbacher even earlier that McKenzie's #10 ranking.

    Nothing special so far, for sure. Hopefully we will get to see his true potential once he gets to start an AHL season from the beginning next year.

    Raty would seem to be the natural choice to slot into Stevens' position, but do we even know if he has been injured or just a healthy scratch?? If it's an injury, then this situation opens a big ol' barn door for Podkolzin to get into the series I think. As long as he's at least 90% healthy that is.

    He may have mainly played RHD in the past, but Tocchet doesn't play left shooters on the right side on a regular basis (or vice versa) . The same was true for Boudreau, and I'm pretty sure also with Green (with a few, short-term exceptions for all of them). Willie D was probably our last coach who didn't have a policy against this.

    Even if he's not quite ready to go yet, just seeing him out there and thinking that he might be ready for a potential game 4 or 5 has got to give the rest of the guys a boost.

    As much as I'd love to give Tryamkin another try, I think that you're quite correct to say that it's wishful thinking to imagine Tocchet would slot him into a RHD position when he's a left shooter.
