  1. They have offensive defenseman who can’t play D. “Whomever with Reilly” doesn’t work when Reilly isn’t a good dman. Nor is Barrie - both are offensive risk takers. Also, your constant attempts to insult people says a lot more about you than anyone you think you’re insulting.
  2. They still don’t have defense. And how much cap will they have to re- sign him. I doubt they will be able. They are just going for it now but he doesn’t solve their problem. Keeping players out of the Home plate area is their problem not scoring
  3. If we can move a contract or two out it is. But it also depends on if he would be willing to sit tight
  4. Every time I listen to the Vancouver media I fail to understand how many of these monkeys retain their jobs. Is the lack of media talent that great in our city that we can’t have people who ask good, respectful and reasonable questions. It makes me think they read this site and ask questions the trolls pose. 1. “Are you aware idiots on social media are complaining about you and did that go into your thinking of signing here?” 2. “We didn’t pay him his worth of 7-8 mil JB was that a factor?” -while Meyers is sitting right there smh at these idiots
  5. Both Boeser and QH are not offersheet eligible. Petey will be but we’ll lock him up prior.
  6. Basically Tavares would have cost Marner plus picks. Not a bad trade if you’re drafting high but they won’t be. As we all know late first rounders are more often Gaunce than they are Pastrnak. I like Tavares but he’s got 3 good years left in him, Marner has 10-12. That signing by Dubas will be his downfall
  7. That is a much stronger dcorps than last year. Not world beating but add in Try, OJ and Woo / Rathbone in 1-2 years and it will be a very strong group. If Tanev can be the stay at home guy w Hughes, he will get injured a lot less (we will be controlling the puck so he won’t be blocking shots), and he’ll up his value. He’s always done well at the worlds with guys like that. Could be a very nice pair. But then JB won’t want to move him lol.
  8. I think it means they want OJ starting in Utica given he hasn’t played in almost a year. He needs to get his legs under him and be ready. He’ll be up by mid to late season when the injuries hit. Better for him to get top pairing time down there vs 6/7 here. We’re not grooming him to be a bottom pair dman. Same reason Gaudette will start in Utica on the top line. Mid season, JB makes some moves and voila, up they come, ready to contribute and we have more picks in our pocket.
  9. Looks like Benn really wanted to come home! A great sign! He’ll play very motivated! https://mobile.twitter.com/GagnonFrancois/status/1145752385119313920
  10. Our team got weaker? How? Ben is as tough or arguably tougher than Schenn. Miller while not a scrapper is willing to throw down.
  11. He’s just a tweener. But we got value out of him and a lot more than we had in Shinkaruk.
  12. I love how people think their opinion is somehow fact. you're wrong. See how easy that is? Justin Braun - 2nd and a third = Healthy rental Tanev = 1st! oopsie I’m right nanny nanny boo boo
  13. A 32 yr old Justin Braun got a second and a third. A rental RD of his caliber, if he stays healthy, IS getting a first at the deadline. He should have better odds of staying healthy now given he won’t be ridden by Green like he has in the past.
  14. This season should be really fun to watch. More experienced Bo, Boeser, Petey, Hughes, Demko and Jake. With support from a stronger D corps, Marky will look even better and Demko will get settled in, allowing us to move Marky at the deadline. A solid team all around, we may miss the playoffs this year but it will be very close if so. JB and Green want a team that will battle every night and this team is built to do so. Excitement is infectious and these moves are going to get the young kids excited that the playoffs are a real possibility and it will help guys like JV, OJ raise their games to another level. I see a great mix of size and skill now and I think teams are really going to dislike playing us. Irrespective of whether we make the playoffs this year or not, it’s going to be fun to watch and I guarantee we won’t be giving Tampa a lottery pick in the end. Well done JB! Go Canucks Go!

  15. 2020-2021 season Edler Tryamkin Hughes Myers Juolevi Stecher Benn Tanev Moved to get our first back at the deadline given he will actually stay healthy as he finally has support in Myers. a lot of people are missing out on this fact. The Myers deal gives Tanev support. He’s not going to have to be on the ice all the time now. This should help him stay healthy
  16. Well there you go! I had a long thread on how JB needs to improve, signings and trades, and that’s now an excellent trade (Miller) and a very good signing in Myers. Haters can complain all they want, JB addressed our two biggest weaknesses in a top 6 winger with size and a big RD. Myers contract is quite reasonable for a big RD UFA who will take a lot of pressure off Edler and Tanev. Well done JB!
  17. He’s going to get taught a bad lesson in the west. He can get away with his antics in the easy east. Out west he’s playing big boys every 2nd night.
  18. Lol! Yes JBs fault because he can’t get anything for our junk? Smh teams have to want it enough to trade for it guy. ”letting gaunce walk for nothing” - a guy who can’t skate, is big but won’t hit, and can’t score at even a ppg pace in the AHL. It seems JB would need someone with even lower hockey knowledge than yourself as a GM to be able to trade him. Your “schtick” is getting old guy, what’s your id on hockey forums?
  19. We might but no one will take him now when they are trying to sort out free agency, trades, improvements etc. Why restrict yourself for a player like Erickson, he’ll be there later in the summer, no need to act now. My guess is mid to late summer when teams rosters are set, someone will take him for the cap hit or others will wait till he’s waived to get him cheaper
  20. Ya, my guess is he’s getting a one way, 2 year deal and given the tax advantages of Florida and chance to win a cup (don’t discount that draw for him late in his career), we’d have to offer a lot more. This is likely his last paycheque he’s going to want the most he can get and a chance for a cup with that is pretty enticing.
  21. “Doesn’t make them good defensively” your lack of hockey knowledge was just exposed, please just stop lol. he’s an excellent 2 way center with size yes, but has played a lot on the wing. anyone who understands the game knows it’s a lot harder to be a strong 2 way center than winger, as you have a lot more defensive responsibility at Center ice. moving an already very good 2 way center to the wing, is a very easy move for that center as his defensive responsibility is now EASIER. Smh
