  1. Ofcourse, it is a PR thing cause it is ultimately about messaging.
  2. Ditto: external.vs internal. Regardless, the mediocre on ice product is a reflection of Aquaman & crew. Can't fluff up the record of this current crew he assembled; but Iam still giving him some credit cause his overall record as Canuck owner is still above .500, since he became a majority owner in 2006. BUT HE SEEMS TO BE RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS
  3. Good points; and Imo, spending to the cap is a cover, for cheaping out in other important positions
  4. The Team seems to be trying to control the narrative to hopefully, buy themselves some time to make an important decision till later in the season or after.
  5. In a family setting your approach works cause you are not selling anything; but in a public business, were you are selling a product - it might be the wrong POV (to make public). Hope he doesn't see the fans as dumb whiny kids cause that will only explain why the team is stuck in this merry go round of mediocrity. Anyways, it is his team and if it is just a hobby business to stroke his billionaire ego, then let's see what he will do, once REAL apathy had set in among the whiny kids.
  6. The players lack of emotions after a loss, shows there detachmenf from an immediate leader. imo, Green has earned whatever is coming his.way
  7. For Green - 40 game mark or end of season, to make his two year contract easier to eat for both Aquaman & himself.
  8. The importance of getting the loser points - for the sake of a winning culture will prevent the Nucks from getting the #1 pick or atleast, a top 3 pick. So sad cause the offseason, indicated that they will be competitive and instead....
  9. Not surprising in western society - signs of the times.
  10. As long as this is a priority to Aquaman and Canuck brass - they will only be unwilling to do what is best and the cycle of mediocrity will continue cause accountability is less important.
  11. Good points Hef, but we are Vancourites, so being polite is to be expected or mandated. POLITE SOCIETY !
  12. Based on your summary - the one thing never/hardly discussed when talking about drafts - is the talent level of the draft. Plus, the cap is very prohibitive about keeping a young & talented roster together for an extended period of time; and as proven, by the ever rebuilding teams: Buf & Sens, a GM with no wisdom in putting together a roster outside of collecting talent/players - will only keep a club in a perpetual state of mediocrity, with a blip taste of success (sounds familiar ?). In comparison, to Lou or Yzerman (just to name a few), watch how they handle the organizations assets (picks & players) and how they build up/tear down there roster. Are they infaliable ? - NO; but they seem to avoid making the same mistakes twice; and they seem to make sure they have autonomy & the support of the owners. Anyways, I enjoyed reading your rant/summary and lots of good points.
  13. For now; let's see how he will progress with the Panthers; and; unlike Hunt a 33yr old plug - he is still young. Anyways, he is gone and hoping, if Julseen will progress pass his very own injury problems.
  14. As a Canucks fan, hopefully, local kid Julseen can salvage this trade.
  15. That trade was about getting something before losing another prospect (especially, with a draft pedigree) for nothing. Panthers new JB, was desperate but they were kind enough to give something of relevance (?) - somewhat, similar to a crackhead selling something of value; and instead of just taking it, Tallon gave JB two expired sandwiches instead. Disclaimer: not comparing JB to a crackhead just how the transaction transpired. Also, drug addiction is a real problem affecting real people and as a society we can do better.
  16. Yeah, would EP confirm any substance to such talk or is it more, "Hey, you ready to play ?"
  17. I remember that. Burkie was unique and just like Torts, he would be seen as a dinosaur in this city. That, interview was so sad; and this is what tends to happen when the media & the team are both giving each other head.
  18. Yeah, despite the results - it would be nice to see them battle or be hard to play against with some structure to there game. Saw the Tampa & Isles game, and it was enjoyable to watch two teams in playoff mode already; it showed how both teams were standing up for each other.
  19. Green - I got a two year extension and I am good. One of the win in the homestand was due to Demko, doing a Hasek. Also, lots of time in games, were there was no shots on goals for extended period of times. His answer, proves he has no accountability & idea on what to do. Lots of shat & giggles; and lol - a sign no body reads. Anyways, hoping for a win next game.
  20. The mediocrity, in the results further proves they have no clue. Really, looking forward to what fruit there moves will bear cause that will prove the wisdom of the leadership group.
  21. My main point: if your part of Canuck brass, what would be your main goal - right now ? If Iam to guess or specualte, it would be - to buy time till the end of the season or later in this season to make a change in leadership. I speculate the Green extension is forcing JB to make other moves cause it is still too early in this season and more importantly, his desire to save face.
  22. Ofcourse, it is speculation based on the Hirsch rumour and what is being talked about in the forum & radio. I am just paying attention, (as) to what is (purposely) being leaked from the team and the narrative in the local media cause Imo, the main goal right now, for Canuck brass is to give themselves time till PERHAPS the end of the season: to eat one year of Greens contract (as the main reason, for not wanting a coaching change - right now). Easier, to move on from Green with one year as opposed to two.
  23. Ron Delorme is a real survivor despite his drafting record - just further proves that if you're well like nothing else matters and these type of decisions only leads to a culture of mediocrity. I've seen these types of personnel games in a giant corporations and luckily, for Aquaman owning an NHL franchise in Vancouver is a money maker, whereas, in markets like Tampa & Vegas, they actually have to have a product to attract fans. This disastrous start is the fruit, from years of incompetence and it seems they had found a scapegoat with the locker room cancer narrative to buy themselves some time.
