Under Greens tutelage they are playing sloppy. This team has no cohesiveness in there games; rather there is alot of individual play that ends up to an easy save. -

Same, I normally just look at the general tone of the forum or who is on it - far more entertaining. -

Chiming in this convo: in the playoffs the whistles are put away and the system we are watching on the ice seems to easily be countered by other coaches through a full court press type strategy. Also, wondering if any team is currently using a similar system with any success ? -

Yeah; and the players (for the most part) know the hierarchy in the locker room. Sucks for some and gravy for others; no real accountability, rather only a false one at it. -

The downside to having favorites - hard to make roster choices when it comes to minute eaters -

King might be consulting with them but at this point he seems to be way over his head; and it is his job to figure it out - sink or swim and be accountable. The on ice product cannot be fluffed over.. -

Imo, had the makings of a good coach but he failed to connect with today's millionaire athletes except for Vernon Davis whos' career took off with Singletary. -

I like the Sedins to stay where there at (for the moment) and continue to learn cause there time will come. Also, they vouched for OEL and his play seems to indicate the Sedins are keeping him accountable. One of Aquamans' great move to add these two. -

Anybody - with a proven track record of winning would have a better plan and idea on how to use this roster. A poster had listed a few and the bottom five on his list seems to have some potential. -

How are the players responding - is my main question - and are they having fun cause the on ice product says it alot. -

Both have a winning % of around 60%. At the very least, hire a coach that knows how to win with the stats to prove it over along period of time in the NHL -

Ditto and based on his yearly winning % his teams seems to be regressing back to reflect his overall winning %. -

Good points; and just like Green, he was also once an unknown coach. Last year, with Calgary he finished at. 500; management did there thing in the offseason; and now he has the team playing ready & competing. Basically, an year by year improvement, is at the very least - what I would expect from Green BUT HIS OVERALL RECORD/WINNING PERCENTAGE SAYS ALOT (unlike Sutters .592 winning percentage) -

There will always be the groupies group; but I like reading there takes cause they do have some valid points - sometimes patience is neccessary but the eye test on the ice product is still suffering from very familiar issues and sometimes a roster move is neccessary. Also, I would like this forum to become an echo chamber. -

Yeah, with most of players on the roster still intact - there should still be enough foundational pieces from previous years to have some structure to integrate the new players. So far, and year after year under Greens' tutelage there has no been no REAL year to year upward progression. -

Great points brought up from all sides and from my POV, there seems to be a cloud of bad luck hovering over this team/city cause being in the stands I see alot of excitements but the energy is just not right. -

Good point, since Schmidt or any from the Canucks had said anything about his reasons but his trade seems to had coincided with the re signing of Green & the trade with the Yotes. Also, I agree that Green is very involved with personnel and Schmidt was not his type of player - hence of to Winterpeg for a 3rd. -

Chiasson is Greens project and he seems to not want to admit that this experiment is starting to wear out. I hope he sticks with cause it will only be to his own demise or success; and so far, it has been the former. -

Yeah; and as a treat I enjoy watching other teams (mainly Vegas & TB) to see a well coached team compete. -

Imo, a more prudent or cheaper approach (at the moment) would be to see how this roster will do with a different staff. Half way through last years shorten season would had been a good time to try that experiment with last year's crew - but JB (imo) didn’t want to let Green go without evaluating him with a much deeper roster and so far, the on ice product doesn't lie. I remember reading during the Kings cup runs, how Blake with the Kings would transition from one core to another: they have prospects in the AHL learning to win together so that when they get called up they already have chemistry with each other. -

Was a Schmidt a bad egg or did he just realize that he is not a fit in Vancouver after his experience with Vegas ? -

I agree: that the regular season is were the team should be fine tuning itself for the playoffs and not figuring things out - the on ice product is stale and predicable. -

Good context and if you remove the expansion teams - only the Canucks have not chosen in the top3. -

So more roster tweaking ? Imo, the lack of execution can be attributed to the constant roster turnover and the line blender that Green employs - which doesn't help create any chemistry among the players; and outside of Pearson with Bo, it has really been a smorgasbord of line juggling. Preferably, in the next few games, I hope Green would stop with the line blender and allow the players to work out the kinks with a more constant set of linemates - since (as you stated) the issue (more so) are the players not executing or buying in.
